Thanks Dan for this simple and informative video. We just aquired a Yamaha golfcart from my Father-in-law's passing. I appreciate your time and the information you've shared here. Would a "double-charge" like this work on the house batteries in an RV? Thanks for any comments on my question
My boyfriend and his friend his friends have been pondering on idea on how to winterizing my elec wheelchair cuz l rarely use it in winter l ride bus and use stores
this seems like a great way to store batteries for months when you don't have access. but if I have access to the cart, would it be better to plug the charger in every few weeks? thanks for any info
I am unable to remove my batteries, and have no place to keep my cart in winter.. Is it ok to leave it as is (charged etc) outside with a tarp covering the complete cart? I've just put new batteries in, last March, it's now October.
following the double charge/disconnect procedure in this video you are then ok to leave the cart outdoors. Put wood board or something under wheels, we do not recommend parking on straight grass. moth balls may smell but a few during winter keeps pests from building nests which can cause alot of damage. Thanks!
HI Jessica - Not dumb - it's learning The main positive is the number one post on the first battery and the main negative is last post on the last battery - the cables that come out of the cart and attach to the battery's are the main. Thank you for watching.
You've got one piece of absolutely terrible advice in this video. DO NOT... I repeat...DO NOT keep your batteries warm for the winter. You want to store those batteries as cold as possible all winter long. The colder the battery is the slower it will self discharge.
Dan,
Thanks for this. Much appreciated.

How about leaving over the summer in FL.? Have to be left under carport, it does have cover and out of direct sun.
Cottage or trailer that's my only two options to live in haha.
Where you located
