I'm so glad I can across your video. It's a nightmare trying to navigate apps, and the subscriptions are killing me. My son has ADHD, ASD, because he has an intellectual disability they won't diagnose him with dyslexia, however his speech said he's definitely got it. Which I've been saying from 3yrs of age!!!! These apps look and sound amazing.
Hi Dan, thank you for this video, right now I am at university The app I have found very useful is Read and write They offer a free trial of Read and Write Secondly, Otter what records and write down you notes 3.Wordtune what really helps me when doing essay to re-write Paragraphs
Thank you for your knowledge. Im just preparing for my childs IEP meeting and I remembered seeing your videos previously so I searched you out. I will be presenting this information to help her literacy in the classroom. Would love to hear of any other tools you recommend for kids with dyslexia.Much Love Your Way!
I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am for you! The help you provide is so needed and appreciated! My father and daughter both have dyslexia, so this information will help our family in a very practical way. Thank you and God bless you! ❤
Noo! don't give up, don't ever give up! that's what Dyslexia wants you to do, sort of like trolls from the internet come to think of it. LOL when I was in college what helped me alot is recording the entire class so I can rewatch it later along with 10 min study 5 min break than 20 min study 5 min, than back to 10 mins, etc. I hope this helps. :) a little side note the best way to control ''freaking out because you don't know how to say or do'' is to calm down because you're not the only person in the world that doesn't know. :P
@@PrincePalmUwU i could not agree more! my dyslexia has been extremely challenging In many ways and its made me want to give up more times then i can count but you can do it!! don't give up we all here for each other!
also, there is nothing wrong with “ear” reading. Especially in subjects, like history, science, etc. where main focus is not reading. Learning Ally is a wonderful app specific for dyslexics. Yearly subscription is not expensive especially when they run their sales and it is well worth itthe yeay fee.
Hi Dan, are you aware of any dyslexia dedicated channels? The benefits of dyslexia, if you know how to leverage the differences, are largely unknown by the general public and by many dyslexics. I've been thinking of doing a channel on how people can leverage their unique skills, whilst mitigating the language challenges.
I have it in now 41. It bugs me as I don’t no what it is I’m good at doing I work hard gardening but I feel I do it as it’s easy. But don’t enjoy it. Any tips all I hear is everything is on line or to read books
Are there any apps you know of that help adults, that already have a grasp on dyslexia but could use help with expressing what they are trying to say in like a speech? My son is in politics but says sometimes he has a hard time explaining his thoughts/ideas so others get what he means.
Inspiration is good for mind mapping and organising ideas. I tried Read and Write Gold but I didn't like it. I heard that Dragon software is really good but I don't think the newer versions are compatible with Apple devices. I liked the Livescribe echo pen because you can take notes and record at the same time. I haven't tried the newer Livescribe models. I like the accessibility coloured filters and speech to text software on iPhones. I think that an iPad might be a good option as they have the same accessibility filters and text to speech software and I like the idea of being able to draw out ideas with the apple pencil.
How things have changed. My family read all my college text books to me. I can read. I just read so slow i couldn't keep up with required readings. This was before audio books. Lol
what me and my sister do is record the entire class and watch it again later but if a college have a test before taken any courses than I can't help you there, study! for whatever it is. what help me is studying for 10 mins and 5 min break through out the day rather its reading whatever it is you got this!
So dyslexia was apparently responsible fir me failing all my exams, but never picked up because my reading and writing was ok, im struggling to explain what i want to ask you right now, and tgat is exactly my problem, pathways and route are a huge issue too. I dont have iphone because i cant pass the online courses i need to enable me to earn a good wage. I passed everything but now stuck with the online part, any suggestions as i ma faling to pieces. It's ionic you say there is lot to help for dyslexic people on phones, but the whole concept of a phone is completely baffling and frustrating for me, I just get into a right mess!
Thats exactly what i wanted to say toi, I have zero interest in spelling or grammar, i really could not care less about it, but pathways i do care about, memory recall, which affects my ability to remember where apps are, how to adjust settings or use my phone at all, i cant remember pathways, and its am ADHD thing too, i cant get from A to B without broken down directions, no good babbling them all in one go, anyway you understand so no point me going on, but well said, is what i meant to. Say
