Just a quick one, I watch your vids every time, a quick word about the Fall Detection feature , please enable, last week I was struck by a bus, 8 broken ribs and a gaping whole in the rear of my skull. The fall detection feature triggered 10 seconds after bus hit me and knocked me unconscious, my watch called emergency services and let don’t wife and daughter know I had an incident. I believe this saved my life due to emergency services being there in 3 minutes. Thanks you for videos they are invaluable but I must point this out in a real time benefit.

Excellent video. As a 69 yr old retiree with some cardiac history, I've been using Health app for a few years now. My cardiologist recommended it when he noticed I wore an Apple Watch. I use it mostly for tracking my medications, as well as activity and sleep, which come from the watch. I also check in occasionally in the Heart section. My advice to anyone just starting, especially if older, is to go slowly. Don't add more than one section at a time. Get used to one thing for a week or two before adding another to your routine.

I use the Health app on my iPhone for a number of things. I have to monitor my blood oxygen and blood pressure. I also use the ECG option regularly also. I was a participant in a AFIB research group of which I received a free Apple watch. The catch was I had to give them access to the health app and commit to 2 years. For those of us that are of a certain age, this app is great. Thank you for this helpful video. It was concise and informative. ❤

I have looked up and down the whole app several times before and NEVER noticed any of the topics you just mentioned in this video. I was looking for a video that would explain the whole app to me. I clicked on some before I found yours, and I assure you, this one is perfect! Also, I am from Brazil and didn’t think I could use the app without an Apple Watch, but now I can see what I was missing by not using it before. PS: My English level is advanced, and I’m constantly trying to watch videos on UA-cam that can help me improve. You speak so calmly and 'slowly' that, even with this problem, you've helped me. Thank you, thank you, thank you. :)

For me, this was the MOST informative video that you have produced this year. I had no idea of the detail and extensive functionality of the health app. Thank you very much for all of the "drilll-down" detail. I do actually use and like the handwashing feature and miss it while washing my hands when my watch is charging. I also use the fall detection, though I will admit there have been a few times when the watch thought I had fallen, when I had just moved my fist and wrist very rapidly. Looking forward to your next video! Cheers

I've been using the Health app for a few years to track my activity. I bought an Apple Watch a few years ago to track heart rate and oxygenation. Fall detection is, for me, hit or miss. It's caught the times I've fallen or been knocked over, but it's also triggered spuriously, including once when I was breaking down cardboard boxes to go into the recycle bin.
I was unaware of symptom tracking, which sounds like a feature I should start making use of. I usually only see my doctor for my yearly checkup, but having a "place" in the app to save that info is more convenient than keeping notes elsewhere.

I went Into Afib about 9 months ago. My Apple Watch Ultra told me so. I felt like I was having a heart attack without the pressure on my chest. So the wife called 911. The EMT said my Apple Watch was probably wrong. Well he was wrong and said wow my heart rate was over 200. And I wasn’t doing anything at the time. So I was rushed to the hospital. Spent two days and now on blood thinners. But yes I always wear my Apple Watch and will be updating to the new one this year. Thank you for the video very informative.

@@Rmbrown1964 Same thing happened to me last year just the day after I turned 29 and it happened at night and I was admitted to the hospital and stayed overnight. A year later it happened again but this time in the very early morning and went to the hospital and stayed the in the ER until 230 (1430) PM and was transferred to a bigger hospital by ambulance and stayed there for 3 days in the Cardiac Telemetry Unit (CTU). My Apple Watch has saved my life for the second time. By the way, riding in an ambulance truck is uncomfortable but the cold air in there never bothered me since I’m used to it.

I was already using it and I find it pretty useful to keep an eye on my exercise. I also do a bit of VR exercise on the quest 3 and at the last release you could enable syncing data with it if you were using an exercise app. But I found that it double recorded stuff even logging when I was playing a board game and not actually exercising . I don’t know which end is wrong. I suspect the Quest 3. I’ve turned it off for now.

If you wear corrective lenses, you can store your vision prescription in the Body Measurements section of the Health app. You can also store a copy of the paper prescription and hand-enter the various measurements listed. This is handy should you need optical inserts for an Apple Vision Pro. You reference this data when ordering the inserts.
If you have an AVP and optical inserts, a QR code is provided with the inserts, which you use to supply the information concerning the inserts' specs to the AVP. That information, including the QR code, is also stored in this section of the Health app. This comes in handy if you need to recalibrate your AVP; when setting up the vision calibration, you can look at the QR code on your phone rather than dig out the card that came with the inserts.

When I first started using the Health app. I had a hard time getting the VO2 Max reading to work (Browse, Heart, Cardio Fitness). It turned out the first time you had to initiate it by turning off Bluetooth, register an outside walk, return, and reconnect BT. After that it worked fine every time. But when I got a new iPhone 15 Pro last fall it no longer worked despite loading all settings phone to phone. Trying the first time use trick didn’t work either. I’d love to know to make it work again on the new phone.

With all the data that the Health app manages I’m quite surprised there’s nothing related to stools. At the very least I’d expect to be able to log stool movements although I expect a representation of the Bristol Stool Scale en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_stool_scale would be a bit over the top. Regularity of stool movements is a good indicator of bowel health.

15:57 Thank you - very helpful. One irritation from me is the medication section of this app is not IMHO up to the quality expected from Apple. I can't rely on it for meds due to the extremely poor reminder sound and the critical reminder that only sounds once - and that's proven unhelpful for my particular need. Also I've not been able to log meds from my watch despite the tap feature that appears. Loved the video though🎉

The only thing that drives me cuckoo banana, is that because I Freedive and I can’t wear my Apple Watch in the water (Ok, I know the Ultra technically can be used at depth, but it’s a terrible Freedive computer), my watch keeps thinking I don’t do a lot of exercise, so I often get condescending remarks from my watch like, “you’ve got this, just a 15 minute brisk….”
