My mum used to have her homebrew business in Tonge Mill before Elvis and Cressie had it. Weird to see it now converted into a home when it used to be split into shop units. Hope they sorted out all the damp issues.

Just watched The Mill on the Floss the other night there lol
This property I swear I have seen it in a film in the past a period drama. Lovely property I do wish I could but lack of lottery funds would prevent me. Nice to see it has a decent amount of garden too. Whomever buys this lot is a very lucky person to have a home and business space or even a school or large restaurant so many possibilities. I hope it's not cut down into apartments would be a shame.

It is an amazing property .. I had visions of frameless glass extensions and internal reconfiguring as soon as I saw it .. and that would only take 30 or 40 years to get through planning due to the Grade II listing ! (joke .. but possibly not far wrong)

Absolutely beautiful. BUT you glided casually over something that frightens people off because of cost and restrictions GRADE 2 LISTED. You need to explain what that entails for the buyer. Also has it ever or is it susceptible to flooding?
Really good points - hopefully he can give good answers - Grade listed buildings are a concern…
He did actually say that the mill pond doesn't flood, and that it's been there since medieval times so I'd think it's fairly safe.
Thank you for watching. No flooding, its a mill pond and you regulate the levels automatically via the
sluice in the mill, there is a ref to this in the video. And grade 2 can be a bit of a minefiled, hence my comments at the end. If someone is very keen, its best to have a separate conversation with me so I can talk through the complexities of it. Some listed building are easier to deal with than others. Best wishes, Simon
Simon DID cover the issue of flooding .. it is a spring-fed pond and has had an automatic, electronically controlled sluice gate installed since the middle ages (and I was impressed that they had electronically controlled sluice gates in the middle ages !! )
Grade II doesn’t frighten people - it’s very flexible. Grade I or grade II* are another matter.
