Thanks to my day job at Kelley Blue Book, I drive and review lots of cars. This 2020 RAM 1500 is one of them. The RAM 1500 might not be the best selling full-size pickup truck, but it does offer proper towing and cargo capabilities along with some clever innovation. In this review we see how well the 2020 RAM 1500 Rebel performs as a family vehicle and examine how its truck credentials measure up.

I love Evie! “Stronger than a locking tonneau cover” is one of the best editing jokes I’ve seen yet. Also, compared to our 2010 Tundra SR5, that plastic in the Ram seems like a luxury! I think my elbows are bruised resting on the center flip-up seat all the time.
Well she agree the truck was family friendly but she needed to have actually driven it as part of that test. After all, part of family friendly mean driving it and parking it.

These are quickly becoming my favorite car reviews! I also love those ram boxes. Are they only on the rebel? They’re almost as cool as the Honda Pilot bed trunk.
You can get them on any 1500 series and I think most of the 2500 (Power Wagon for sure at least), I don't know about the 3500.

A $71,000 price tag on a pickup is obscene.
It is ridiculous isn't it. I am in Canada, so that converts to about $100,000 CAD...

And yet, its what buyer have been asking for for year. RAM was the first to take it to the limit(ed).

The price doesn't SEEM high, it's F#&@ING ridiculous!! I'm on my 3rd Ram (4th gen), so I obviously like their pickups, and this one's a beauty (except for the horror show that is that grill), but they've lost their minds with their pricing. And don't think "incentives" are going to save you, as you'll see less than $8K off the price, IF YOU QUALIFY for all of the "incentives." Sorry, but that truck isn't worth a dime over $40K, as equipped. Leasing schemes have drastically overinflated new vehicle prices, so the best thing to do is NOT BUY THEM OR LEASE THEM. Leave them sitting on dealer lots where they belong.
The interiors on those new RAM's is unreal. Seeing it person, you quickly ask yourself, why would anyone choose a GM or Ford truck over one of these???

These prices are getting out of control, but hey the Rebel EcoDiesel it's perfect for me as I hate chrome.
I used to drive a corolla before trading it in for an F150 and i'm still not used to how comically big the center console in these trucks are 😂
The ram's center console is about the size of the corolla's trunk...lol...

I've been waiting for you guys to do the 1500 RAM, maybe you can do one on the Longhorn V8 eco version next.
Although thought you missed a few things like remote start, remote lowering of the tailgate, ice boxes on the floor in front of the rear seats (under the floor mat) and you didn't talk alot about the huge info-tainment screen. Remote start would have been good for Evie to try out as on a hot LA day, aircond could be started before you get in. Also would have been better if you showed Evie opening the ram boxes to see if its possible for someone her height.
Great reviews but it is becoming more about the grahics and sayings rather than the cars.

Your not stupid bro. Soft plastic absorbs dirt and its majorly hard to clean vs hard plastics. After you clean soft plastic you start seeing the dirt come back thru again. Some parts of vehicles you need hard plastic..esp lower part of door.
The parts that take abuse. Not the parts you touch.
Trying too hard. Back off the weird awkwardness about 5 notches.

If you needed a pick up truck for work, then this would work fine as a family car. But if you didn't need a pickup truck. You definately wouldn't buy one as a family car . You could get a much nicer car for alot less.

Just took delivery of a 2020 Limited w/ Black appearance package. I'm super happy with it so far, although I don't have much reason these days to drive. :-/ Great review and I like how you guys review this Rebel from a family perspective vs the typical reviewer. Keep it up!

I own one of these and it’s incredible- I also have a sedan but the RAM has been perfect for 26k miles. It’s a crew cab with the off road package, black sport appearance, and loaded as a Laramie. I get 18-22mpg on hilly New England roads and weather - great to see your family Micah

Was all good until they put a 6 cylinder diesel engine in it. Of course it has a turbo because it needs the boost and that turbo will have a early premature fail rate, What a waste. 8 cylinder diesel turbo then you have a actual truck.
Really good review, I liked it and it was funny. The one question that I have is a weird one. What kind of latch belt are you using for the baby seat? I have never seen something like that and I really like it. Where did you get it? Like I said, weird question, but I want one.

That's my favorite truck by far I've driven this on a few times at the my local car shows and a FCA dealer where I do some photography work.

I really want one too. Test drove it several times and I love it. But can’t justify the gas guzzling nature of a pickup. So I placed a deposit in a cyber truck instead. Hopefully it’ll drive as nice as the ram.
You can still get the diesel, and more or less justify it, if you drive a lot and live in an area with more affordable diesel prices. Here in Seattle, diesel is _usually_ about the same price as regular, so you can make up the difference really fast.
I know he’s trying to showcase the truck but this guy takes his eyes off the road way too many times while he’s driving his family around.
That truck you were in has air springs, no coils.

It's actually a decent value believe it or not. You get a ton of stuff for the money. The only concern I would have is the long-term reliability.

I would love to buy a Longhorn trim the attention to detail is unreal for the price point. Waiting on the used ones to fall off a little bit more and of course having my job back would be great too. But I'll hold on to my '15 big horn until everything straightens back out.
