As a former/recovering addict (clean since 2009), I can tell when others are on something better than most. JT’s eyes are the giveaway here that he’s using again. Breaks my heart to see the disease of addiction claim the scalp of yet another tremendous talent. He fought the fight as best he could, but left us with the eternal gift of his music. See you on the other side, brother ❤️🙏🏼

Yep- I noticed it right away myself. That glazed, overjoyed look when the poppy plant is working its magic. I can feel the high. He knew what he was playing with
@@randalclarke5487 Yup, very sad. Pupils pinned out too. What's sad is it wasn't even the poppy that got him. He was using white that happened to be laced with fent. I don't think he was speed balling, think it was a legit accidental OD. As the saying goes though, "you buy the ticket, you take the ride". Using any street stuff in 2024 is russian roulette, doesn't matter how rich or poor. Don't use alone and if you are then google neverusealone (the harm reduction site) and have someone there with you.

I saw Justin open for Social Distortion in Dallas 2018. I had never heard of him or any of his songs before....but was looking him up on UA-cam the next day. Still lookin him up today. I don't know how to categorize his music...country? Folk? Rock-a-Billy? I don't know what to call it, but I like it. And that's a helluva complement coming from a metal head.
This was powerful and a wonderful view of a deep man. I can't tell you how surprised I was to hear him say he had lived in Poga (prounounced Pogee)! around 1990, my husband and I lived there a couple of years in 1981-83. Beautiful place in the middle of nowhere (there is a Nowhere Road in Poga! A dear friend took me to hear Justin in Asheville in early March. I'll never forget that experience.
RIP brother. So much talent, so many demons.
I don't know how many times I've watched this one. We wish you were still among us, but you left so much of yourself behind. RIP Justin!

Most of my favorite musicians are dead and then I found JTE. I started looking for concerts then Covid hit. My plan was to see him first thing when it was done. Then he passed. Great musicians.

I interviewed him twice. Saw him at an invite only radio show, then a big show that night.
He was clean the first time we spoke. He was using the 3 other times. God love him, he fought it. He told me how hard it was. I asked him if Slipin’ and Slidin’ was his way of telling us he was back on the juice. He looked me in the eye and said “Yes.” He was embarrassed, you could tell.
Although he wasn’t with us very long, his art will live forever.

He seems messed up. They say some of Townes Van Zandt's last concerts were awful he was so messed up.

I have such a good looking talented cousin. Justin comes off a little strong at times but his heart was humungus..... Much like myself. Justin's talent shows much Love. Man he has eyes looks like my son Avery. Wow the Earle blood runs deep. My loving cousin ,oh how I wish I could have told you Justin how much I love you....
