I never cease to be amazed at how deeply accurate to the genres you're parodying your songs are. Like, within the context of the genre, this is a really good song. Nu-metal is where I got my start in the metal community, and I can tell you definitively I woulda been ALL OVER this album in middle school.
Honestly same, my first metal album was a CD that came with a magazine, it had loads of random Nu-Metal songs, that’s where I got introduced to Korn and Slipknot, but also a bunch of random songs that everyone has definitely forgotten lol
The cool thing that I always found about nu metal was, no matter what you thought of it, you gotta admit that all the biggest bands in the genre all sound completely different. Slipknot, Korn, SOAD, Linkin Park, Deftones, Limp Bizkit all sound near enough nothing alike. Of course, there are smaller bands in the genre that sound generic af but you know...
Yeah, that's the cool thing with genres that are basically built around "take something simple but then pile random weird shit on top of it" since everyone ends up doing different weird shit in order to stand out. There are a lot of bad nu metal bands but at least it's a very diverse array of bad bands. Another example was the wave of hipster indie pop that came in halfway through the nu metal era and was similarly short-lived, lots of bands doing basically the same thing but in their own quirky way.
In high school while all my friends were listening to Korn, Disturbed, and Linkin Park, I was listening to Megadeth, Testament, Pantera, Exodus, and 80's Metallica. Yet now in my late 30's I'll hear nu metal on the radio and be like "ahhh nostalgia"!
I unashamedly love nu metal, it's what got me into other metal genres, if it wasn't for it I'd still be listening to hip hop and rock, now I'm slamming cannibal corpse, Infant Annihilator etc.... still love Korn and Bizkit 2 of the best concerts I've been to. Nu Metal got ALOT of people into the metal community where they found their own groove.
Yup, Disturbed and Godsmack were my entry level metal bands back in '07 when I was an angsty teen. Then I got exposed to Dimmu Borgir a few years after and that just launched me into a whole new world not just in extreme metal, but power, folk, speed, etc.
The funniest thing is how ACCURATE you usually get the details. Even saying it's like mushrooms with Monster energy in a blender with skateboard stickers. That's somehow SO on-point. It's all in good fun. I like some of these artists' tracks, and have an appreciation for a little of everything, but it's fun riffing on things even we enjoy!
I can see why you hate Nu Metal, cause you're the kind of kid who got bullied by the type of people that make Nu Metal. This whole video reeks of resentment. Nu Metal has been dead for over 20 years and you're still having small penis rage over it. Like get a life. Dudes like Limp Bizkit, POD and Crazy Town took all the girls home. It was cool music. Made for cool people. Jocks and bro's are the coolest guys, and little jealous dweebs are not so cool. Ok?

Around the Fur: Am I a joke to you?
Memes aside, even as someone who likes Deftones and a bit of old LP (SOAD and Disturbed too if you count those), I'll agree Nu Metal's quite a mixed bag at best overall.
goo goo dolls are closer to being nu metal than Deftones. Everyone has alwayss been crazy. oo they played ozzfest or something so i guess, yeh definitely obviously we gotta call them nu metal. wtf ever. ugh.
flagnapper Smith I dunno man. Their debut album and quite a few tracks on ATF & White Pony are pretty nu-metal
@@SOBEKCrocodileGod dude ... Wtf are you talking about😂... You seriously listen to their first album and say that goo goo dolls are more Nu Metal? I guess someone needs a good earwax removal
Mint lynx from simpleplanes?
Rickets is a pretty damned pissed off song.
With serious lyrics this woulda been a hit 20 years ago 😂👍
It’ll be a hit now that nu-metal’s back
@@WublerDublerCubler it is?
Yes
@@WublerDublerCubler you, huh.
@@PhucDat37 well, it's not but metal has groove again so maybe
Holy shit, the song you ended up is amazing!! The chorus LMAO...feel like I just went back to when I was 14 and deep into nu-metal
''How to make grunge'' next lol
I’m waiting for him to talk about Fred Durst entire episode
That's an very metal name sir I salute you

"Did you know you can put effort into your music? I wish I did."
as a nu metal fan I think this video is pretty funny and definitely sums up the genre
this is so hilarious... ur content is like a junkfood but pack with all the vitamin, nutrition, fiber and all the supplement that needed.. this is pure entertainment.. pack with, funny, jokes, sarcastic, insult, information, knowledge, advise, heavy, gore, sick, and all in one which is make it awesome man.. i really enjoy it.. it's really fun to watch, its like watching advertisement, sitcom comedy cartoon, MTV, and discovery channel documentary at same the same time .. job well done man.. please do more like this.. i cant hardly wait..
This song kicks ass... You managed to beat out most of the bands you mentioned in the video, in a tongue in cheek manner. Kudos
Man, I remember everyone taking this genere like it was their blood. Its just so weird everyone making fun of it now.
People have been hating on nu metal for as long as there's been nu metal
I remember this genre being a big target of mockery. It was an obvious fad like grunge.
Nu metal was NEVER considered “cool” it was always a niche. I would say people are actually easier on it now, as nu metal fans are more quick to embrace the cheesy elements and have a self aware sense of humor and metal elitists are seen for being the assholes they are. And those that used to be metal elitists who shame people for liking nu metal grew up and realized they were being assholes
@@SOBEKCrocodileGod niche? Are you kidding? Nu Metal was mainstream as fuck back in the day.

would be cool to see a powerviolence/emoviolence video
Agreed.

Yes pls
Skramzzzzz
No?
Tbh Andreas/discrot had probably most of the best lines in this video, his lines were just perfectly timed and well performed. Andri, whoever directed his lines did a wonderful job! Such a fun video!
Nu Metal is actually my favorite genre so when I saw 5:30 - 5:45 I just HAD to pause the video because of how hard I was laughing... BECAUSE ITS TRUE 😂
Not only I laughed so much thru the whole video but the song also came out as a banger. Thanks for putting your effort into the video ❤︎
Idk what about a real emo (like emocore, screamo/emoviolence, post-screamo, midwest, 2000s or revival :3) or maybe that murder-folk genre you mention in your folk punk video
Oh my god "real emo" would be wild. Like everyone has their own definition and everyone hates everyone who disagrees with their definition so it would be maddds
Like:
How to make late midwest emo/2010s revival emo/emo math rock/wannabe american football
The look:
1. Dress in the plainest shirts and jeans you can find. Google "person stock photo" for ideas
2. Disregard self-care
The music:
1. Pick a random combination of 5, 6, or 7 I/ii/IV/vi chords and make that a bar
2. Play that as off-beat 9th chords on clean guitar
3. Looper pedal
Album cover: Take a photo of your house. If not applicable take a photo of whatever and put it in greyscale. Optionally write the name on it
Band name: pick a random combination of an adjective, a nationality, and/or a sport. Or just open a random book at a random page and name yourself after the first thing you see
@@domesticcat1725 YES EXACTLY
I could totally see him nailing something like PG.99 and I would love to see what he could do with some Midwest emo/Math rock.
@@domesticcat1725 did you just drop a The Fall Of Tory reference my guy
Isn't Groove Metal basically just Nu Metal without the rapping and whiny/angst vocals/lyrics?
Pretty much lol
@@samuraicowboyx nu metal is sick tho.
Uh, no. COC and Pantera are groove metal and sound nothing like Nu Metal.
@@boardskins They kind of do man. Coming from a fan of all of Phil's projects + CoC, Crowbar, EHG etc.
Groove Metal is more of an offspring of Thrash Metal, but slower and more focused on half time beats
The Tony Hawk 2 green screen pic is giving me PTSD. [And the Irony is that we teased our little cousins for guitar hero love]
every song is a banger, you guys are awesome lmfao
Please release an album with all your songs !!!! I use these as explanations about musical genres to all my non-metal friends. Especially when I'm tired of explaining about the genre
I actually generally like nu metal. Also I absolutely loved how that song you made sounded.
I was wearing a Korn t-shirt while watching this
Atleast their good
Korn is great, man
Korngratulation I loved that video 👍 I subscribed
1:41 The way the Jonathan Davis character spins is great
Source on the song that goes "my mom took my game controller now I can't play e sports"
I still love NuMetal and I'm not ashamed of it. This video was spot on and hilarious. Song at the end was killer 😂
18:55 "KoRngratulations!" thank you.
I don't care what anyone says I will never get over nu metal. It's been my go-to for over 20 years now.
Disturbed was my gateway to metal. Still listen to the sickness album occasionally
A Wiseman once said "The difference between a Nu-Metal riff and a Groove Metal riff is a very thin hair line."
Do “ How to make Post-Grunge.”
1. Imitate Nirvana
2. ???
3. Profit
Shit Nirvana + Diet Creed
Prime example: Seether
Nirvana riffs slowed down + Eddy Vedder style "HHHHUHHH" vocals + sad-sack lyrics
@@johnsmith5215 i actually like post grunge. It's biggest problem is that every band is a copy paste of each other and the absolute word salad lyrics.

Haha, i loved this - and new metal is certainly how i got into metal back in the day. Limp bizkit gets a bad rap but you can´t deny that wes borland wrote some seriously awesome and very unique riffs.
Agree
Bad Rap?
What yu mean by that Bad Rap? like a bad rhymes? Without meaning ?
Ofc this is not a gangsta rap this is simple Hype up Rao style and Fred sometimes spit some really good s*it in songs without some special meaning but also there are out there song's with meaning.
