Ngl, it's my 2nd fav console of all time if we count everything: exclusives, multi plats, remakes, remasters, ps1/ps2 classics, etc. None will be able to steal that 1st place from the PS2 though but I am pleasantly surprised with the PS4. Initially when I bought it, I thought maybe I would have 10 games for it and call it a day, now I have slightly over 200. Still no reason to upgrade at all and there probably won't be.
The playstation 2, mind you, lasted a good 15 years, so PS4 might be the same as the Playstation 4 if you ask me. And around the time PS4 came out is when the PS2 was discontinued by Sony themselves.
As someone who’s only ever owned Nintendo consoles, getting a PS4 in 2024 for $85 was an amazing deal for me. Thousands of games I couldn’t play anywhere else.
Games you couldn't play on Nintendo*** there are probably only a couple dozen PlayStation exclusive games that haven't been ported to another platform (PC or Xbox.) Most are usually multiplatform, but they don't get ported to switch bc of it's low power
Sadly most consumers are more aware of solutions/issues than a lot of higher ups at all kinds of companies. Gaming, tech, cars, healthcare, you name it
The ps4 is dead , it won’t be getting games after this year, don’t expect anything else , literally a dead console , 50 million people on ps4? Yh doubt it
@@yoyoyoyoyoyo6 I’m one of them. My backlog is so full that my PS4 is still my main machine. I’m going to get a PC for an upgrade when the time comes, now that Sony is beginning to act like a monopoly again. If it’s a dead console, why is EA, a dystopianly profit-driven company, making a PS4 version of Jedi Survivor?
@@yoyoyoyoyoyo6i literally have a ps5 and i basically just use it to run ps4 games. ps4 imo has the best library of all time, ps5 doesn’t have a lot of games that make it worth it
@@regulardegular5 I actually had no idea that game even existed, coz I bought the ps4 around september 2017 and Ghost Recon Wildlands came out like in march 2017 and it was actually my brother you told me about it, he said back then that Wildlands has elements that I enjoy in a videogame and how right he was lol 😅
The PS4 has a killer library. I don’t blame folks for not upgrading. There’s a rumor swirling around about Sony making a new portable that could play PS4 games natively. Strange as it would be, I’d be down especially if it doesn’t require internet to play. Sick videos as always man and hope all is well!
I've been dying for a proper successor to the PS VITA, the thing that killed the Vita was proprietary memory cards being a requirement. So while I'm hoping the rumor is true, I'm hoping they learn from the Switch and use microSD cards for storage (or allow us to slot in a small SSD).
Portable PS4 makes sense. Sony moved their HQ to California and made a clean break from Japan after the PS3. It's why PS4 wasn't backwards compatible like PS3 was. The PS4 hardware is also basically a PC compared to the custom architecture Sony used on PS1/2/3, making multiplatform easy. Plus we've seen downgrade ports to XB1 and Switch. For better or worse, gaming has become very consolidated.
I was saving up for a used PS4 Slim but my cat got sick and used the money for his lab tests and medications. He died last month. I'm using a PSP emulator for now and will definitely get a PS4 someday. Not my priority right now. It's just awesome that it's still getting new games.
Exactly i had 2 ssd's in pc, dont need one so i slapped it in PS4 Pro. Then bought internal 8GB drive & external chassis to keep downloads on. Whenever need speed, just send over the game to ssd! 👌👍
Lmao, this is nothing but pure copium. The PS5 offers unlocked framerate and a move away from mechanical drive on the PS4 to SSD. You also get a far greater experience of gameplay on PS5 playing through the PS4 backlog. It’s not just about “graphics” as plaything through the backlog of PS4 games are far superior on ps5. Literally no reason to own a PS4 in this day and age when you consider how 95% of the PS4 library is playable on PS5. But, hey. If you want to slog through 30fps instead of 60fps on PS5 while playing your PS4 games, then you do you. 😂
@cbgg1585 that's kind of the point, 95% of the ps4 catalog is available on ps5. I remember going from ps2 to ps3 and the changes were so ecstatic, the consoles are so different.it upgraded in every way and most teams focused solely on the ps3 to the point it forced you to buy a PS3, But there's almost no reason to go from 4 to 5 because games are still being produced for both and still run smoothly and look visually impressive. I have a 4 and 5 and maybe only have 8 physical games over the course of 3 years
I’m very much a believer that similar to the PS2 and Vita that the PS4 will never die until Sony straight up shuts down the store and licensing stuff, it’s gonna be kept alive by third parties (SEGA and THQ as examples) and indies until Sony just makes them stop by cutting the cord.
My launch model is still alive and kicking, installed an external 512gb nvme , played 200hrs of Elden Ring and now I'm finishing the RE 4 remake on hardcore. Also started Witcher 3 yesterday and I play GT7 from time to time!
Im 32 years old ... but until now i don't have any console in my life .. but now im working very hard to have ps4 this coming September and i will buy one for the first time... its my childhood dream until now... i hope ps4 will continue ....
I could afford it from day 1, and I still waited 4 years before buying it. So finally this year I got my PS5 Slim, I pay for it in monthly installments. I think it's good to own every Sony console, some people don't really care about Sony, but for me it's more than just a console. It's a huge part of my life, I grew up playing all PlayStation consoles, so I'm definitely biased, but yeah. I still want to get every PS console that ever releases, till the day I die.
@@freedom_born Yes, I could afford it because I am not a big spender and I always had some money hidden in my socks. That being said, taking it on installments was a smart move, because I want to build my bank credit score. By paying something in installments, you prove to the bank that they can trust you later one day (when you could really need something bad to take in credit). At least that's how it works in Europe, don't know where you live
Me too bro, like I could have gotten a PS5 but I don't really see the reason why to, aside from Marvel's Spiderman 2 that launched on the PS5, no other game has really got my attention and is not I'm like desperate and craving to play Spiderman 2 which I am not, I will stick to my PS4, when gta 6 releases he we'll see how things will go when we get there but at the moment the PS4 for me is great, PS5 will be 4 years old this year, by the time the PS4 had 4/5 years it already had a fantastic exclusive library of games which is more than I can say about the PS5
I'm kinda forced now to buy one despite there just being no game that interests me aside from upcoming Rockstar games or a new Battlefront. But mine died today, so I need one to play PS4 games and watch DVDs/BR
Sony should have never released the PS4 Pro as it is delivers almost the same graphics as the PS5. It also makes the console generation gap look smaller than it should be.
That's nothing. Last gen's Xbox One X (proud user here) has way better graphical fidelity than the current gen Xbox Series S. Sure, series loads faster, and some games use ray tracing in it, but other than that... 4k changes everything, and Series has no 4k support, and does not read discs, while my Xbox One X does. This dude said it best: ps5 is just a glorified ps4 pro. Same story.
@piyapolphetmunee3879 that's a terrible comparison ps4 pro is 4.2 teraflops and ps5 is 10.3 teraflops literally more than double graphics power on top of that the cpu is so much of an improvement the pro couldn't do 60fps in most games while the ps5 can do even 120fps in some games plus the ps5 has ssd compared to the mechanical drive on the pro
PS3 and 360 still have decent games, love a bit of Borderlands 2. Consoles only die because they want you to buy another one, old consoles like the PS4 and PS3 are a great money saver, I've reminded myself that I'm nowhere near finishing any Forza game on the 360.
Just started playing Forza Motorsport 4 last week it launch the first semester of college for me but I slept on it for over a decade I made a mistake not getting it back then but it slaps 👋
I have a Series S and the most games I play on it are 360 games on the online store. And honestly the main reason I got this console was just to buy and play a bunch of those older games.
The thing is a lot of those 7th gen games have been remastered. Besides Borderlands, there's Uncharted, Bioshock, and more. Uncharted 2 was my favorite PS3 game, but the best play to play it nowadays is PS4/5.
I have a PS4 and just bought the PSVR for it and it’s amazing how many games you can play on it. Indeed the PS4 still has life in it for a few more years.
I think the PS4 is gonna go down as arguably the greatest gaming console of all time. That era of video games was kinda perfect tbh. Great selection of games, amazing exclusives, and in regard to performance, it was able to run some very graphically demanding games, even by today’s standards. Video games at that time struck a great balance of introducing next-gen game mechanics and great visuals. It’d have been nice if Bloodborne ran at a higher fps lmao but yeah. Lots of great memories with the PS4
It’s funny you can ask people and get a different answer from everyone- I legit think 6th gen sweeps for consoles because all of the GameCube, Xbox, Dreamcast and PS2 were worth owning, there were no installs wasting time and video games reached a point of satisfying polish while remaining experimental and clearly surpassing the previous gen. Some of the best games ever came out in that era too I think. Now I think the best games of today surpass that but 90% of the good games we get now are indies, and consoles after the 7th gen honestly suck so I just moved to PC.
@@idontcheckmynotificationsEverybody’s “greatest generation” of vidya consoles is probably the one people had when they were kids/teenagers and played the most.
I actually like the ps5. It’s not noisy. It loads games fast. Easier to deal with in many ways. I just don’t like the design or that it’s so big and heavy. Plus there’s not enough exclusivity generation wise. I wish series X had more exclusivity console wise but at least it’s very backwards compatible friendly. Sony should have made the PS5 compatible to all previous consoles. Then it would not only dominate but crush its competition
There's zero reason it couldn't at least play PS1 and PS2 games. Those are extremely easy to emulate. I understand with PS3 because the architecture is so convoluted and difficult to emulate, but progress is even being made on that front with RPCS3.
Totally agreed with you man! Honestly PS4 still is a very worthwhile console to play on and I am happy for them keeping PS4 alive for this long. Its been more alive than PS2 and PS3's 11th year in the market too. Great video, subscribed! I also talked about it in my channel too about the PS5 RANT and why 9th Gen sucks that you may want to check out too!
I knew the PS4 would still have its support!!!! Sure, the PlayStation 5 is a sexy beast and it's perfect for those that don't have a PS4 but the PS4 still has that potential and the best part is it can do cross-gen and connect with the PS5. My friends own a PS4 and I was mind blown that I can talk to them through the PS5 controller voice chat
I am 39 years old and new to gaming. last year I wanted to try video games so I bought a used PS4 fat. I was amazed by the capability of this console even though I have no experience. I finished GTA5, God of War 2018, and now playing Ghost of Tsushima, GT7, Battlefield V, and some other remastered games. To be honest, I don't feel I need to upgrade because I am so satisfied with the graphics and performance of this console.
Brother i truly recommend to try to downgrade and get a ps3 and play God of war 1,2,3 or if u have a PC u can play them for free but play the old God wars there so badass
I have nearly over 300 games on PS4 and still play my slim model i haven't upgraded to PS5 yet still as i still haven't see that game to make me the jump..... Been playing Nintendo switch mostly this gen 🌟
I only recently upgraded from my PS4 Slim to a PS5 slim since it went on sale 2 months ago. And all I've played on my PS5 is PS4 games like XCOM 2, Dragonball Xenoverse 2, and Apex Legends. Now apex imo is a huge upgrade but tbh PS5 is disappointing and I could have just kept playing PS4.
Been collecting since the launch of the PlayStation 4 it's still an amazing PlayStation of all time, PS2 library is insane, I do love the switch tho it's probably my 2nd favourite gen of Nintendo close to the SNES days as a big Zelda and JRPG fan ♥️@@FranchisePlayyer
Really? I still see PS4 games all the time. Walmart, Target, and Best Buy all have them, albeit at smaller quantities. Plus GameStop and other game stores and pawn shops have a ton. They are so cheap and plentiful.
Usually I buy my games on EBay. I find titles in Brand New Condition for a decent cheap price. Also if you checkout Mercari you can find ppl selling Used PS4 games for cheap. Cheaper than GameStop! lol.
It’s only worth it if you got the spare money to buy $70 PS5 games that are mostly just reskins of older and much cheaper PS4 games anyways? Four years into the PS5 cycle and it’s barely got ANY new titles and the price point of Sony PlayStation is getting ridiculously high. Factor in the new levels of premium support for their PSN live online service and it’s becoming way too greedy. They forget how hard people had to save up for the older cheaper consoles and went way beyond the magic consumer price point of $300 which has always been the bar for the average console gamer. Beyond that price point and it starts to look like a household investment that you need to think about and will lose to a decent pc that can do many more things than just game.
The PS5 is not worth it considering the price of the games that arrive unfinished and only getting patches post release, the companies are playing it safe so there's barely any creativity, every new game has 80% of the content online exclusive and the graphics aren't insanely different like the ps3 graphics and ps4 graphical difference
Gravity rush 1 and 2 are my top favorite ps4 exclusive games. Such a fun and unique experience for both. Love the adorable main character. She's so charming haha.
Sony better not do something stupid and try to shutdown the PS4 to force people to upgrade to PS5. They have been making a lot of dumb decisions lately so I wouldn’t be surprised if this crossed their minds
Then it is better they make up their minds for people then. People like you are so blinded that you don’t seem to understand that the PS5 offers unlocked framerate, HENCE getting better experience playing though your PS4 backlog on PS5. A killer library isn’t an excuse NOT to upgrade. The vastly superior experience playing through PS4 games on PS5 should be enough to make the upgrade. Why would people would persist with 30fps for games like Shadow of the Colossus over 60fps on PS5 beggars belief. Sure, there is “60fps performance mode” on the PS4 pro, but it doesn’t always reach it. Fluctuates far too much. The PS5 unlocks the framerate and fixes this issue and runs the game at a locked 60. Gamers are seriously naive if they can’t see the vastly superior experience of playing backwards compatible titles on PS5. No reason not to upgrade as 95% of PS4 titles are backwards compatible with the PS5.
@@cbgg1585I don’t want to upgrade to continue playing last gen games that look slightly better and load faster. I want a new console to play new games that I can’t play on the old one. That’s the whole point of generations…or it was anyway
It doesn't seem like they will. If anything PS5 is basically a PS4 ProPro. They're all the same ecosystem. If they were smart, they'd just have the rumored PS4 portable work natively with it. Many people have lots of digital games as PS4 comes up on its 11th year and the hardware is old but still solid 1080p stuff (unlike XB1).
I have a PS4 slim and a Pro, plus over 120 physical games. I have zero desire to own a PS5. There comes a point where something is good enough, and for me that was the PS4.
PS4 is a great console and I find a lot of great games for it everywhere. I don’t think that people don’t need to sleep on the PS3 and the store is still open and I find that some of the best games you can get digitally.
I had the PS4 Slim all previous Gen. This year I finally acquired a Pro the Glacier White model. One that I always wanted, too. If you get a Pro try getting a model part of the 7200 series. Apparently those are much quiet, but replacing the thermal paste helps more.
I think you should probably stick with the regular if you already have it If you didn’t know by the way, Jesus will fulfill you more than anything in this world, I speak from experience (from when i did Romans 10:9-13), he loves you and wants to be in a meaningful (not romantic) relationship with you. :) “that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-13 KJV “and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Mark 1:15 KJV If you want proof that Jesus and the Bible are true look a documentary called “Ron Wyatt discoveries 2022” on UA-cam and a UA-cam channel called Expedition Bible. They both examine archeological sites and discoveries that prove the Bible, and even reference secular sources. (Just don’t convert to 7th day Adventism after watching the documentary) And lastly if you don’t know the gospel and want to be saved search up “abc’s of Salvation Teenmissions” on Google and it should be the first or second result. When you click on it read the whole thing, and do what it says and have faith in Jesus while you are doing it, do not doubt, and if it is hard for you to do what it says, ask Jesus to help you, have faith that he will, and *he will.* God Bless :)
The PS4 is a great console and I think it’s underrated. It was the last Sony console to let you explore Avatars and Themes. Also had its own web browser. All these features you won’t find on the PS5.
That's all the PS5 is tho, just a quieter PS4 lol. What's the point of having a PS5? Almost all the games that exist on it are also on PS4 or PC. Might as well just get a PS4.
ps5 is more future proof yes its just an upgraded ps4 pro but loading time quiteness 60fps alone makes it worth it its so hard to play on 30fps once you try 60fps@@amrsalama911
@@BrawlinEntertaintment2Kcool I’ll play them in a couple years when price of ps5 comes down and I exhaust some backlog. I’ll get them for $20 all patched up with all the dlc instead of $70
Honestly looking at my ps5 collection, the only ps5 only games I have are Spiderman 2, FF7 Rebirth, Jedi Fallen Order and the Dead Space Remake, which I’m sure could’ve had a playable ps4 port. Hogwarts, elden ring, God Of War Ragnorak, resident evil 4 and Horizon Forbidden West are huge games and they got a ps4 port.
That’s a really good point, I’m surprised the Dead space remake didn’t get a ps4/xbox one port it probably would have sold really well on last gen consoles
I think you nailed it. I’m a patient gamer with kids and expenses and cost of living sucks all the while ps5 price is still high for such few games that I couldn’t get for ps4. I still have a ton of ps4 games that I’m working my way through and adding more to my backlog because the value is just great picking up great games dirt cheap for under $20 and sometimes under $10. I just don’t see the need to upgrade and pay $500 for a system and $70 for games that only marginally look better (the generational difference gets smaller every generation) when I can wait it out a bit playing good games for dirt cheap and not wait until ps5 gets a price cut, more games, the price of those ps5 games comes down etc. I could probably easily make it another 2-3 years on just ps4
Yea I got my ps5 like a year or so ago and it’s nice, but my ps4 pro still runs just fine and never getting rid of it, absolutely recommend it still in 2024, freaking baller ass console.
Only reason I keep my PS5 is so my sister can use my PS4 Pro. She had never gamed until hearing about Kingdom Hearts, and now that I got her that she won't stop playing!!
I finally got myself a Pro this year. A Glacier White a model one that I’veam always wanted, too. I still use the Slim as a secondary console when playing Fortnite with family and some small indie games.
In my country you can get a brand new ps4 slim at around 190$ and second handed at about 90-100$ which is a great deal considering how many games you can play
I started collecting Vita’s around 2020 and totally neglected my PS4. Just completed both Horizon Games and bought Ghost Director Cut and will start soon. Amazing Console.
My PS4 still alive and kicking and as long as it still gets huge releases I'm totally fine with my PS4, plus I still play my PS3 from time to time, cuz I have a huge PS3 and PS4 library
i am going to keep my ps4 for as long as i can. my brothers have had them since they came out i finally got my own in august and i have already made so many irreplaceble memorys with my brothers and my friends. no other console could ever replace it.
@@teneleven2818The thing is that you don't know what you're missing if you haven't experienced PS5 load times. But it's impossible to go back to PS4 afterwards. Games like The Witcher 3 and Prey have load times reduced from over a minute to 15-20 seconds. The SSD is by far the best feature of PS5.
I was lucky enough to grab one ps5 when they were released, but I had money back then and things weren't so expensive. Now it would be impossible for me to upgrade with the cost of living. I can barely afford to eat these days but grateful I have the ps5 because I intend to use it as long as possible until it stops working basically. , maybe one day some one will make Linux run on it..🎉
I don't get much time everyday to play games but have a huge backlog of games on PS4. I didn't even completed many PS3 games I purchased but want to complete them. So i am all set for many years probably without purchasing new games.
The PS4 is my modern Resident Evil machine, but you are very correct, extremely valid system to use even in 2024, my next pickups will be RE3 and 4 remake, and hopefully Spider-Man. It’s almost overwhelming how many game are on offer at this point and for those with just a regular hd tv the graphics are incredible. Kinda crazy that Black Op 6 is going to be on PS4/Xbone. Call of Duty is HUGE and I personally believe that people would finally upgrade to PS5 for COD but looks like too many people have PS4s so theres no reason for Activision/Microsoft to not put it on last gen. There's that one Kotuku article "60 Percent Of Playtime In 2023 Went To 6-Year-Old Or Older Games, New Data Shows" where they talk about how most gamers really only play GTA5, Roblox, Minecraft, Rocket League, Apex and Fall Guys. Crazy to think that these games are keeping PS4 super relevant.
Still on PS3 playing backlog. Console offline and it's important to note... Games playing from the disc focusing on backlog and I'm going to be on PS3 for a while
I bought ps5 Slim this year, because my og ps4 was actually very slow, after years of playing it for many hours. My ps4 is gonna stay in my drawer, it still works, but a brand new ps5 slim was the way to go for me. I deserved it after saving money for quite some time, too.
I have cfw ps3 slim, two modded regular wiis, modded wii u, modded new 3ds xl and I still have my psp that needs a new lcd. Also can't forget my ps2 slim and n64. 😁
You know how many games people have on their hands and not enough time to finish them at all? Just a phone alone can let you play all the games in history up to Switch era. Couple that together the vast library of games on ps4 who have time for ps5 at all.
I'm completely happy playing PS4, PS3, and Xbox 360. Between those three, there are more games than I will ever need. Working full-time and also having a side hustle, I don't have a ton of time to spend gaming, so I'm good.
I have a little over than 100 ps4 games. It is a great console. I see no reason to upgrade for ps5 when I can play most of the games on ps4 anyway, not to mention the 70$ price tag. Although, now I'm a more of Switch player and my ps4 is mainly used as Netflix machine for now.
I think this is spot on but one thing to note is that, though cheap, a lot of PS4's need servicing. I picked up a slim at a garage sale for $45 and when I tried loading a couple discs it failed to because of a weak laser eye. That lead to a full service. The unit was totally caked with dust inside. And though I have the ability to do this the slim has a lot of screws and parts. It's a pretty complex unit.
PS4 install base is 100+ Million. PS5 Install base is 59 Million. Literally always hating on the PS4 for no reason. (PS5 is still getting their Next-Gen Updates/Features on games either way, so they need to stop complaining.) Maybe we 100 Million+ PS4 gamers should switch to Xbox or PC, sense PS5 owners are still on this (PS5 Only Movement) crap. Let's see how sony would like only 59 million gamers who are not buying games. PSPlus PS5 players don't buy games. We PS4/Pro players buy shitloads of Physical Games. xD
Man loving your videos. I am a game developer and I have released games on PS4 and PS5 but I still personally have not upgraded to a PS5 for many of the reasons you mention in the video lol. I am holding out frugally and playing tons of old games still. Plus all the PS Classics still hit PS4 as well so there is tons to play! I think when Monster Hunter Wilds hits next year I will have to find a way to upgrade lol we'll see. Keep up the down to earth vids man. Not a lot of that around online.
I just bought my nephew a ps4. He said he wanted a ps5,i said why, he said better graphics....i said trust me.... you want the ps4..... he hasn't regretted it yet. He sees i still play my ps4 games on ps5 and borrows all my games. I only have about 8 physical ps5 games. Just nothing worth getting fr.
@Eddycut see actually you are wrong! 😆 I told him I'll get him the ps4 and Nintendo switch or just the ps5... initially he said ps5. He thought ps5 completely trampled the ps4 and it was obsolete until he started naming games then realized they were on ps4. Instantly switched to the ps4 and Switch.
@@waltergill1226 lmao how is that wrong when it's literally what you said, oh so now you claim you gave him a choice and also a switch instead of the PS5, lmao sure bud how convenient for you. Funny how you left that information out from your first comment🤣
@Eddycut hell yeah it was convenient for me🤣. Bro the ps4 was $80 and the switch was $100 at the pawn shop. The games he wanted were part of the home collection already. I'd be lying to say I truly wanted to shell out $300 for a ps5 😆.
You forgot about FIFA, and most sports games too, FIFA until 2019 it was still making a PS3 version which is wild, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they keep doing it for PS4 at least until 2026.
@FranchisePlayyer The industry has gone woke, the games are terrible and not selling. AAA gaming is on life support because all the studios got flooded with unqualified ideologues and check box hirings, so it ain't recovering this decade. I'm not even sure PS6 will ever see the light of day.
Still rocking my OG PS4 I got in 2015. Lobbies are still full online and games play good. But the past 2 weeks I am finally feeling the need to get a newer console.
I have 0 reason to upgrade besides 1 game that’s coming out next month but that game is also coming out on ps4 too but my situation was dumb lol. I preordered the limited edition of it expecting myself to have a ps5 by now from when all that scalping was still going on and I never ended up getting one because of it. Now that time has passed I see that there was nothing worth getting a ps5 for anyway. I don’t play online much either so I’m not interested in all those lame copy paste shooters and stuff either

The clarity and boost in frame rates on current gen is great. That's all it really is though, just a nice thing to have but not essential. The most important thing is if the games are still good, which they still are on older systems. I have a PS5 and mid-range PC but I also still love the Switch which is even less capable than PS4. The games are just that good on that system.
Playing previous generations of video game consoles and having a ton of fun! The PS4 is my favorite console. I love it so much I have 2 of them. I honestly can't believe Sony shut down making new PS4'S. They could have easily sold millions more like possibly 10 million more console sales. They were crazy to stop making more of them. It's super popular and has an incredible library. The online fan base is high. After decades more time the PS4 and PS2 can be considered the greatest consoles ever made. I love them both. ❤
There are only handful of PS4 games which are being enhanced for ps5...most of them are first Party titles apart from that, PS4 pro runs almost every PS4 game just like PS5...there are still not enough exclusive titles on PS5 which justifies it's 499 usd price tag...
New to your channel. Really liked your conversation and will subscribe to stay up to date. Your analysis was so spot on, especially about tough economic times and the gain for the average gamer. It also didn't help that Sony didnt do enough to stop scalpers when PS5 first came out which turned a lot of people off. Just like you, I have both PS5 and PS4 and still prefer my PS4 because it's good enough, and I can operate the controls and navigate in total darkness when I game at night because it's so familiar. As you said, cross gen is still supported, and the legacy game selection is so broad and affordable. Also I can get so many kids titles of retro games so that is another PS4 advantage. I think PS4 and PS5 will retire at the same time . If Sony adds PS3 backwards compatibility like they've talked about for PS5 that might finally motivate people to get the newer console.
Gamers want to get the best possible deals on consoles and games. The PS5 fails to do either of these. In fact they've increased prices. Which is obviously unprecedented this far into the life cycle.
@@FranchisePlayyerI agree. But if they wanted to justify the huge price tag they should have made it backwards compatible to all previous consoles not just ps4 games.
This has been the most disappointing console generation. Too many cross gen games, remakes and remasters. Not to mention the overpriced PlayStation subscription services and DEI infested games and censorship.
I play PS4, i have so many games i love to play. The reason I don't upgrade is that there is not many games on it that I want to play, compared to ps4.
That was a big reason why I chose the PS4 over the original Xbox One... The sheer size of the One, plus the fact you couldn't stack other stuff on top of it because of that huge vent in the top just made it impractical.
Mine just died today :( Exactly 9 years and 11 months. Never had any repairs except corrupted files that it solved itself. Now she is bricked and wont even accept the update file she wants to function again. I'm bummed by this but also amazed how long it worked compared to my PS3 (ran through 3 of them in its short lifespan) or PS2 (2) and PS1(bet it still works tbh) The PS4 really stood out compared to most consumer electronics that die 3 years into their life
Kinda reminds me of the ps2 I played that for years until my parents could afford a ps3 and it broke eventually I was still playing ps2 until 2014 with no problem with it I was still having fun
Its actually amazing how long the PS4 survived and still getting games
Yeah it’s wild how the ps4 is still going strong
It’s the new PS2

Games you couldn't play on Nintendo*** there are probably only a couple dozen PlayStation exclusive games that haven't been ported to another platform (PC or Xbox.) Most are usually multiplatform, but they don't get ported to switch bc of it's low power

A new PlayStation handheld would be amazing bro, let’s hope that’s real! Thanks man hope you’re doing good 💪
I've been dying for a proper successor to the PS VITA, the thing that killed the Vita was proprietary memory cards being a requirement.

Naw PS3 and Xbox 360 era was the greatest hands down
It’s funny you can ask people and get a different answer from everyone- I legit think 6th gen sweeps for consoles because all of the GameCube, Xbox, Dreamcast and PS2 were worth owning, there were no installs wasting time and video games reached a point of satisfying polish while remaining experimental and clearly surpassing the previous gen. Some of the best games ever came out in that era too I think.
Now I think the best games of today surpass that but 90% of the good games we get now are indies, and consoles after the 7th gen honestly suck so I just moved to PC.

If the ps5 was able to play ps1-ps4 games more people would want to upgrade that’s for sure
There's zero reason it couldn't at least play PS1 and PS2 games. Those are extremely easy to emulate. I understand with PS3 because the architecture is so convoluted and difficult to emulate, but progress is even being made on that front with RPCS3.

Props for mentioning Gravity Rush. Criminally underrated series.
I still use it as my main console and idk if it's just me but the PS4 UI just feels so snappy and fast which makes the experience even more better
I bought mine in 2013 now 2024 still going
You stupid,I got mine last month and getting games at 50 cents
The ps4’s current situation reminds me of the ps3.
In my country you can get a brand new ps4 slim at around 190$ and second handed at about 90-100$ which is a great deal considering how many games you can play
PS4 does not deserve to die
Get your money up fam 😂
@@churlissh_7680 stfu PS4 is the G.O.A.T
I just bought my first ps4 for 110 euros (pro version). Such a good deal...
In some stores in my country i still see this console being sold brand new
I like that you also consider inflation, people financial situation, fear of missing out. Great video!
Thanks, appreciate it!
Release of GTA 6 might convert or increase sales for PS5
I won't upgrade to PS5 because it is too pricey and I don't like the design is too big. I'm happy with PS4.
Those are the reasons it took a me long time to buy a PS5 too. The scalpers didn’t help matters either. But I like how fast it loads ps4 games.
@@teneleven2818The thing is that you don't know what you're missing if you haven't experienced PS5 load times. But it's impossible to go back to PS4 afterwards. Games like The Witcher 3 and Prey have load times reduced from over a minute to 15-20 seconds. The SSD is by far the best feature of PS5.
an the ui is BOOTY CHEEX
I was lucky enough to grab one ps5 when they were released, but I had money back then and things weren't so expensive.
Now it would be impossible for me to upgrade with the cost of living. I can barely afford to eat these days but grateful I have the ps5 because I intend to use it as long as possible until it stops working basically. , maybe one day some one will make Linux run on it..🎉
PS5 slim is smaller.
Best f2p game of all time imo, Warframe, insane experience and incredible community.
Yeah the library is ridiculous. Glad you’re enjoying the RE games
I still own a PS4 but planning to get a PS5 late 2024 or early 2025. PS4 is a wonderful console and I think one of the best consoles that Sony has ever made. Even in terms of graphics, its pretty astounding and revolutionary
I would love to get a PS5 too but expensive as shit
Why would it die I don’t see it as a weak console like the PS2 PS3 PSX I only play on the PS3 still only for the trophies
Those weren't weak consoles either..ps3 was clearly a update from ps2 and honestly I think ps3 is better ps4..but Playstation has always been a great system
@@ShawnReed-ny1hdPS3 wasn’t in 1080 in every game as Xbox 360 was the only thing it was great at giving free play online service no plus required that’s it the controllers are more smaller then the PS2 PS4 PS5 Xbox doesn’t make their controllers tiny PS3 is no where better then PS4
Oh yes they were weak consoles PlayStation was the weakest on PS1 X-men Vs street fighter played weak and played better on sega Saturn Sony didn’t care much at that time until Microsoft jumped in showed everyone what true power really was there is no weak Xbox console PS3 sure was weak laggy ever thought of comparing same games side by side seeing for yourself Sony was the weakest until they hit PS4

Have a PS5, still mostly play everything on my PS4. It's got the awesome backgrounds you can buy, and I have a few that keep me on.
The PS4 continued to live so the PS5 could never be born! 🗣️ 🔥
Games playing from the disc focusing on backlog and I'm going to be on PS3 for a while
That is the worst way to play your ps3 games...put your ps3 online and update your games and play the better versions of them
@@edge1000 console is jailbroken. I leik the single player experiences. Knock on wood I never had a real issue with a game.... So far
I bought ps5 Slim this year, because my og ps4 was actually very slow, after years of playing it for many hours. My ps4 is gonna stay in my drawer, it still works, but a brand new ps5 slim was the way to go for me. I deserved it after saving money for quite some time, too.
Bro Legend never die ❤️🔥💯🥃 I'm happy with ps4 pro Gaming cam to the end so sad 😔
It’s going to take some major releases to make people upgrade who already haven’t. 100 games is a solid collection dude
"WOW" you have a awesome ps4 collection thank you for sharing.
The PS4 is simply a great console with great games. It’s basically the opposite of the PS5.
The ps5 has backwards compatibility 🤷🏿♂️
Yeah but having more true ps5 games would be nice
@@FranchisePlayyer I agree
You are absolutely based for that Gravity Rush series mention. I salute you, gentleman of culture! 😄👌
PS4 install base is 100+ Million.
PS5 Install base is 59 Million.
Literally always hating on the PS4 for no reason. (PS5 is still getting their Next-Gen Updates/Features on games either way, so they need to stop complaining.)
Maybe we 100 Million+ PS4 gamers should switch to Xbox or PC, sense PS5 owners are still on this (PS5 Only Movement) crap.
Also, I am gonna keep supporting the PS4 for a WHILE with my indie games so you are right on that front ha.
What is there for him to regret? Lmao you bought and chose it for him, didn't even give him a choice
@@waltergill1226 lmao are you slow? 🤣 I meant how convenient it was for you to leave that bit of information out of your first comment buddy 🤣🤣
You forgot about FIFA, and most sports games too, FIFA until 2019 it was still making a PS3 version which is wild, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they keep doing it for PS4 at least until 2026.
Yeah it’s crazy that fifa 19 and nba 2k18 were both released on the ps3
Years to come. The PS5 is doa. The 6 will kill the Playstation altogether. 4 is the last hurrah
I hope not man, I would like to see PlayStation around for many years
@FranchisePlayyer The industry has gone woke, the games are terrible and not selling. AAA gaming is on life support because all the studios got flooded with unqualified ideologues and check box hirings, so it ain't recovering this decade. I'm not even sure PS6 will ever see the light of day.
PS5 plays PS4 titles. From that alone, PS5 is always competitive.

Still rockin PS3/4 on my 14 yo 1080p vizio. Just got around to Horizon Zero Dawn. Have enough games to keep me busy for a long time. I do sometimes wonder what I am missing from a 4K or 1440p setup with a ps5/series x.
Yeah not having a price drop on a console at this point in its lifecycle is kind of ridiculous
@@FranchisePlayyerI agree. But if they wanted to justify the huge price tag they should have made it backwards compatible to all previous consoles not just ps4 games.
I clicked because of the video title but subbed cos you mentioned gravity rush
This has been the most disappointing console generation. Too many cross gen games, remakes and remasters.
Not to mention the overpriced PlayStation subscription services and DEI infested games and censorship.
I play PS4, i have so many games i love to play. The reason I don't upgrade is that there is not many games on it that I want to play, compared to ps4.
It won’t die because they made it damn near impossible for any one too get a ps5, they’re still not ready available I most areas.
Yes they are.
thats just you, in uk here they are eveywhere
That's the reason that I love my own PS4 Slim and I don't expect to move PS5 because I also use Save Wizard. Long live PS4!!
And no joke another reason I don't get the PS5 is because it's physically too large
For me the design is not appealing. But also I cannot stand the new Dualsense controller. I tried it and can’t seem to like it.
@@SentinelExps4 controller and Xbox one controller is flawless. They shouldn’t have changed the shit

The PS4 really stood out compared to most consumer electronics that die 3 years into their life
Because the PS5 has no games
It has some like Spider-Man 2 and GTA VI is coming out next year but yeah you're right a lot of games can still be played on the ps4
