Rather than using travel agents, you can do it yourself by going directly to Cambodian Immigration Office and pay $180 for 1 year retirement visa. Travel agents charge ~ $300.

Dave, excellent video. I am moving to Cambodia next week. 😊 Totally agree with everything you say. Another option as you have mentioned before is getting an Ordinary Visa through the Kingdom of Cambodia Immigration website. The difference was $42.00 fee (versus $35.00), a digital passport photo and copy of hotel reservation. No background check, no follow on plane ticket. I applied for the purpose of retirement. So, no proof of income was requested (over 55). I was able to put a deposit down on an apartment through a real estate agent. I looked at the IPS website. You're right, there is a wide range of choices for housing.
Only $30 USD at the airport or a land border crossing for a visa on arrival. All that you need is a valid passport with at least 6 months before expiration, and something that shows an onward ticket for leaving the country (I wasn't asked for this). The land border immigration officers oftentimes ask for an extra "fee" (for their pocket) but if you refuse they don't press it.

What a difference between a tourist visa and ordinary visa ?
Tourist Visa can't be converted to any other type of visa and can only be extended once.
Cambodia is too damn easy ! -- No other country I have heard has anything close to the ease of moving to their country. -- Too bad most have all kinds of ridiculous laws and regulations often making no sense at all. Mexico has lost their minds ! -- Just show up and spend money - I love it !!! > All the extra BS just makes things cost more !?!?! -- I take it English only is not a problem just walking into these places for rent ? - - - I'm thinking fly into the capital from the US and take a van or bus to Siem Reap 'after' a few days or even a weeks rest from the trip. Time to get refreshed and maybe do some sight seeing first. -- Those $50 apartments sound tempting to my frugal self ! Yours looked OK. -?- Have to start somewhere ? -- Do any expats own tuk tuk's like they do in the Philippines ? I'm thinking I might want one for transportation hauling things & food + exploring the area. Great content mister !!!
seim reap is my first option
How do Canadians adjust to the constant high heat and humidity? Do people have to spend most of the time in air conditioning? This is probably more important than people realize. But there is an appeal yo get away from the corrupted western countries. That can't be denied.
Lots of unanswered questions below. I guess the OP does not know the answers or just doesnt not visit his videos after posting.

The 3 months I stayed in Cambodia the most horrendous thing I kept seeing was older western men with young Camer boys on back of there motorbikes, or walking with them ! Im talking 12-13 year olds, my Cambodian friends would sometimes piont them out in disgust.
