I have a Carr Mercury. Yes it is expensive compared to some of the newer low powered heads from Orange, Mesa etc. But it is a combo that is built better than a tank, has great sound and the detail work is immaculate. When I emailed to ask questions, Steve Carr himself replied within a few hours. And he tossed in a rocking t-shirt as well. Value is not the same as price. Carr is a company that defines value in all the ways I can think of and I would buy again from them in a heartbeat.
just by watching how hard it is to play jonny greenwood's parts in radiohead's songs, you understand what a genius jonny is. Not that those parts are technically difficult, but the tone and feeling behind them is only captured succesfully by andy. Congrats on that
@Crodon and what venue are you playing that you need the volume of a full stack? playing the Garden any time soon? Volume and size doesn't equal dollars ; )
@RobbyBobbins lol.... what does one have to do with the other?? I'm grateful for PGS and their commitment to quality demos, but guitar picks are common tools employed by countless rockers - skill and ability completely notwithstanding. I'd just appreciate a more "common" approach to playing the instrument in these videos. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. But each his own... I'm off to practice. ;)
There is a reason they are called Pro Guitar Shop, they don't sell cheap shit. You are getting top of the line products that perform for the professional guitar player.
In a world that is over saturated with ideas, people, gear, bands, bla bla bla. Really?!?!?. What's the point in trying to rediscover the wheel. There are players out there that can make the crappiest sounding amps sound like heaven. Talent? or technology? Whoopdy doo

I love how obvious it is when Andy really loves the gear he's demoing.
I really want a Carr. This demo will convince more players the same.

Woo!!!! "Nice Dream" Love the playing Andy!!! Awesome amp too :)
i just adopted a dog named Artemus. Goddess of wildlife and the hunt.
Artemus always reminds me of It's always sunny in Philadelphia
@whitefalcon113 That's Driver 8 by R.E.M.
Interesting that Carr chose to use such "American" speakers in an amp with decidedly British circuitry. Very cool says I!
nothing wrong with this amp that playing thru 2 could'nt fix right up. i love it! hell ya etc etc
I never really liked "Nice Dream"... well that was before I heard Andy play it!
Driver 8... nice dude!
@Crodon in my country, THIS is a Car.

@Ozymandius666 mmmmmmmmm a Lonestar.... one of the amps I long for and drool over most. I'm jealous. Those amps just flat out KILL.
the drive on that amp sounds a bits subtle, probaly like one of them marshalls, but not the plexi.
Does an amp's wattage refer to output power, and a speaker's wattage refer to capacity/ what it can handle?
Hey! I'm from North Carolina.
@GuitarBlues3 Yup.
@JeffryArntzen The phrase is "couldn't care less". If you could care less, that means you are caring more than you could. Duh.
i was waiting to finally hear some radiohead!
@crxshdxmmy in the future he won't even use a guitar...because he's just that awesome.

I don't complain about the prices, because the Euro Dollar rates make them 30 percent cheaper for me, mwahahahahahahahahaha!

@crxshdxmmy Maybe you should cry about it.

@Goth3m3 I'm not a guitar tech, just play. I wish I could care less, have spent way too much $ the last couple of years.
