I'm not Jewish but I have always respected and been fascinated by hearing the stories and meaning behind Jewish holidays and days of celebration. I'm more a spiritual person due to my upbringing and admire those strong their faiths. Thank you Mayim, for telling all of us why Purim is one to celebrate. Jewish or not cus Go Esther.

Outstanding job explaining the history of Esther. Love your enthusiasm and passion. I have been a hebraic student for several years. Be an honor to discuss more Talmud and scriptures with you. Shabbat Shalom.

As someone from Jewish family that was never brought up with the traditions, this really helps me. Thanks for laying out the story and the what it means today :-)

Mayim, greetings from India. I recently read a book 'Book of Rachel - Esther David'. She writes about the Jews in India ( also how they celebrate their festivals). I hope you find this interesting.

I am sure you know that I was twirling an "air grogger" every time you mentioned that person's name. It's how I was brought up. 😄 And somehow you made it through without talking about Hamantaschen and mishloach manot. How is that possible?

Sweet sister.... as a older woman (could that really be true? Don’t feel like it), I am just now learning about the Jewish holidays. Being as I am half Jewish, lineage speaking, i’m trying to learn about the different holidays. Purim is coming up.... and my Jewish friends in Chicago, might be coming down to Florida where I live. they want to have Purim with me. Never done that ! I’ve known the story of Esther, there is a phenomenal movie about her. Which I have always loved. Anything more you can share on Purim ? I fall back on you to learn if I have questions. Thank you for helping me learn. Could you maybe talk about the the foods Beyond the cookies LOL? I’d like to know the significance of the different food items if possible. ☺️ my friend talked about making horseradish… What? I’ve got a nice bottle of it in the fridge! Thank you for helping this newbie to learn… what should I know that I don’t know…? BTW I love your videos! 🍃💕🍃👍🏽

I am catholic and I always liked the book of Esther best in the Bible, now I really envy Jews for having a holiday to commemorate this, which I would on the spot incorporate into my life because why not?! But it’s lent and you are not supposed to celebrate until Easter 😭 what a pity
