Oh my dear Mayim... I am 70 years old, have cancer, severe COPD (horrible lungs), A Fib (fluttering upper chambers of the heart), and wear hearing aids... enjoy your youth! It's all relative. What IS important is how we live our life...and making the very best of what we have!

Awwww......let the adults through children. I'm 55 and laughed my way through this entire video. Mayim, you're amazing! The bit about losing your hearing is spot on! You have no idea how much more fun THAT ONE gets as you get older. Thankfully I won't go through the same version of menopause, but MAN-O-Pause ain't no picnic! I have been lucky in that my symptoms of aging held off until I was about 48, but it's been a fast track ride ever after.....I'll be 55 on 9/11 (ironic!) and have loved my 50's so far. The best thing is that once you hit the magic 50 you suddenly start to truly care less about all of it. You just unfasten the seatbelt and go for the ride of your life. Enjoy it. The only thing that will ruin your day is death.

I am 61 and happier than I've ever been in my life! Age has so many advantages and I'm enjoying them right now. I know what I like and don't make excuses for any of it. My gray hair seems to have given me some standing with complete strangers - I've been asked for recipes, the best clothespin (!), and when I share a suggestion, it seems to be given more credence. To small children and their mothers in grocery stores, I'm another grandma. New teachers seek me for advice. So many things that I once had to learn are now routine. I have a set of tried and true recipes. A more limited wardrobe. Embrace aging, Mayim!

When my wife Cecile and I first got together, about 6 months in to our relationship she started menopause. She went through it all, to include the mood swings, and the whole rest of the package. Well, we survived 21 years together until she passed away August 26, 2017. I'll admit, it was a struggle... but I really think when she went through menopause, it actually brought us closer together, and helped us value the positive things in life.
We didn't have much... but we had each other. Yes, menopause can be frustrating and difficult to deal with, not just on you but on those we care about.
In a way, you remind me a lot of my Cecile. You look at things not just from the practical "what is happening" standpoint, but you also look at what is happening with a sort of humorous outlook as well. You may be aging, your life may be changing, but as scary as it can be sometimes, there is humor to be found in everyday life.
That is what makes this life worth living... finding the humor in the everyday things. After all, even if we become emotional, it is better to laugh than to cry.

Yes, ma'am ! I love your humor about it. My sister (only sibling) died unexpectedly when she was 43. I will turn 61 on Monday (still in shock from turning 60 last year) and a breast cancer survivor and thriving with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I am blessed to still be alive. I don't color my hair or use a filter app when posting pictures. I wear a little make up, a cute hair style and a smile- oh, and my breast prosthesis so I am not lopsided. This is the 61 year old lucky to be alive me.

When my son was going through “puberty”, I was going through “puberty in reverse” ( otherwise known as peri menopause). He’d wake up with an odd long hair on his chin and so would I. He’d grow a pimple between his eyes and so would I...and so on. My voice also dropped an octave and I shrunk and inch and a half. ( I was 5’8”)
Being able to accept change and laugh at myself helped me get through feeling awkward, as I did going through puberty...the first time.
Mayim, I appreciate your canter, it does help to know I’m not alone. ☺️🤗

I turned 60 this year and it's still very surreal. I remember being in my twenties and 30s and making fun of people in their forties and fifties as being so old and now my 40s and 50s are behind me. I could have dealt with all of that but on my way out 50's back door, just months before my 60th birthday, I was diagnosed with early onset vascular dementia. I don't mind growing old but I'm not looking forward to not remembering the years gone past. I suffered gladly through every one of those years and the thought of losing them hurts more than I ever thought it would. With that said Ms. Bialik, you are a beautiful woman with so very many years yet to come. Cherish them all because the day is coming when the counting is over. Thank you for bringing us all so much joy, happiness, laughter and entertainment. Your videos keep me going! L.Y.

Ya know, I'm pretty young and full of anxiety so death (and aging) scare me a bit. But I feel like facing your mortality is part of the human experience. Learning about the history of medicine, death traditions around the world, stuff like that (thanks Ask A Mortician), has helped quite a bit with facing my mortality. It helps remind me of how lucky I am, and how out of touch Western culture tends to be with death and respecting our aging bodies. It helps remind me that I'm one day going to die, so why not do the things I want to do now? (also, as a reminder: you're never 'too old' for something. If you want to dye your hair bright pink at 72, DO IT, life is too short not to do fun things)
One day, I'm to be old, wrinkly, with a headful of gray hair (if I don't seize the opportunity of it being easier to dye it brighter colors without bleach), and much slower than I once was, and one day I'll be nothing more than something that has been, and you know what? As scary as those thoughts are, I'm okay with that. As long as I've lived a life that makes me happy, that's what matters and all I can really ask for. And I hope I can carry that positive thought through the rest of my life, even when it gets hard.

From the perspective of 67, 40something was prime time! The mojo is really flowing in your 40s; it's a time of great power. The 50s are trickier because, as YC says, you become invisible and you don't yet know how to deal with that. In your 60s, if you're smart, you either use your invisibility as your super power and get sh*t done because nobody notices you except other old broads, or like the women in Advanced Style, or Patti Smith, or Diane Keaton, or... or... or... you really express yourself in everything you do. Either way, there is joy in how much you just don't give a toss any more about the shuffle because you're doing the tango.

I thought I was going to die like a literally my heart would stop and my lungs would no longer taken oxygen. Of course I didn’t die, because here I am commenting on your fabulous video. I will be 50 years old October 15 this year. I embrace it I am ready. As far as plucking the gray hairs are used to do that too. Now? I’m a 👱‍♀️ blonde. Each day I look in the mirror and all I see is my mother. And I’m thankful for that because I lost my mother when I was 21 years old two weeks before I got married. I miss her every day. I lost all photographs of my mother during hurricane Harvey. So when I look in the mirror and I see my mothers face I am grateful. I am embrace aging. Number one: maintaining a low level of depression... and yet you still sound so cheerful. You are still quite young. I am turning 65 in May, so you can imagine my horror. A few months ago the Beatles song “When I’m 64” came on the radio, and I was happily singing along to this whimsical song I hadn’t heard in a really long time and it all of a sudden dawned on me “ wait a minute, I AM 64!!!” The difference between me and you, beside the fact that you are much cuter, is that you say you are depressed but sound cheerful. I consider myself cheerful, but I sound very depressed...think Eeyore. Anyway, yes, we are all getting older, and now that I have listened to you meticulously describing all the changes I have been experiencing on a day to day basis over the last 15 or so years, I really do feel somewhat depressed....not to worry. I do count my many blessings, and after this life is finished I am firm in my faith of a life to come, because God would not simply create us to only live here for a relatively short duration (when compared with eternity) and then die, and then nothing. God is a conservationist, and He recycles! With Him, nothing goes to waste, so even the terrible things that happen here in this broken world have some purpose that we do not fully understand. I think the wisdom literature (Job, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes) give us a glimpse of our vast lack of wisdom regarding all the mysteries of the universe and the God who made it. So enjoy the journey of getting older, and the incredible unfolding of the next chapter of our life after this difficult stage of our existence is over. ❤️😉

I am doing my best to take care of myself without getting ridiculous about it. I want to age gracefully. Any birthday we have is a blessing, and it's never to be taken for granted. Don't worry Mayim!!! You're not old!!! I have grays too but they blend in with the rest of my hair. My vision isn't great either. I have bifocals. And I also have reading glasses. You were always pretty but as you've grown older you're just as beautiful as always. No one likes getting older but it's a journey we all take eventually. The key is in how each of us chooses to handle the journey.

Becky Walters only the luckiest of us get to take that “journey”! Saying we all take that journey eventually is blasé or naive.

You don't look like a hold hag you look great. At 47 I had to have a hysterectomy and menopause is a royal pain in you know where lol Hot flashes is for me like one minute you are fine and the next is like a walked into a sauna but I did everything the homepathatic way. Live life to it's fullest and enjoy every moment and as you get older you begin to appreciate the little things and embrace this a process. To me life is like a book and eventually you get to the last page & the book closes and you are off to your new adventure and reuniting with your loved ones .

I had a hysterectomy and my ovaries removed due to cancer when I was 31. Hot flashes are not fun and I can totally relate! Its been 7 years since my surgery and thankfully they have diminished, although I do get one every so often.

Thank you, Mayim. This video was great. Watching someone accept aging with confidence made me more comfortable about growing up and growing old.
