Do you have any experience using NI-MH batteries? I just picked up a G series, within 5 days i was getting a report that the batteries were low. I wasn't expecting the cycles to be as long as good alkaline batteries, but 5 days is not a tenable solution for me. I'm heavily considering the power bank at this point.
Rechargeable batteries won’t work inside your G cam because the voltage is to low with only 4 D batteries. I also wouldn’t recommend rechargeables in the 6D externals as they just won’t last very long without something to keep them recharged. If you want to use those rechargeable D batteries I would put them inside a Dual Power Bank and also hook a PW-3600 solar panel to it or if you have some 6D cameras (K or J with 6D back) you could do the same by putting those batteries inside the camera and hooking up solar directly to the camera. So there isn't any changes on from the menus for a solar panel? I have int bat 4d on the menu. Thanks in advance!!!
No, there’s no settings that need to be changed internally. The 4D setting you see is on the J series cameras and is referring to the battery compartment on the camera itself. The J cameras have come with 12 AA, 6D, and now 4D battery compartments so you just have to set it to the correct one. If yours takes 4D then leave it as is👍🏻
