Today we have another review for our Exotic class items, this time on Warlock looking at Solipsism with the combination of Spirit of Apotheosis Veil and Spirit of Star Eater. This combination is not only letting us ability spam, but its giving our super insane damage increase.

You can get even more damage if you use arcane needle which applies unravel and then use facet of courage which makes your light abilities do more damage against darkness debuffed targets. Using a darkness melee also means you can go transcendent too after a few needles
does that do more damage than the ignitions from the snap?

There is a slight cooldown between the song of flame grenade and melee, and in that timeframe you can shoot a dragon’s breath shot which tags on a few more ignitions.
That gap is better used for tractor cannon and a 1-2 punch shotgun IMO. More DPS from the SoF melees that way

Using Arcane Needle & the fragment that makes Light abilities do more damage when the enemy is affected by Darkness debuffs will up this combo’s damage
ignition damage is base off whatever applied scorch in the first place, that might be why caliban's ignition is not scaling, because it triggers ignition but not the one applied scorch in the first place

aztecross i got ursa and the one that gives one more nade on my titan and i learn that not only extend the unbreakable but you dont need the second nade charge to increase duration it seems

finally got a class bound with star eater scales and spirit of stag and it's fucking insane man , I'm loving the damage reduction while in a rift , keeps me alive to make sure i don't lose all my star eater stacks 🔥🔥🔥 loving the roll

Facet of Dominance is the one that gives you Jolt and Weaken grenades, not Bravery, that's volatile rounds + Unravel.
Warlock uses Facet of Dominance the best though, because they can easily get both Jolt from Storm Grenade and Weaken from their Transcendence Grenade (plus a bit of chill/shattering). I know that combo is what I use on my turret warlock to great effect.
With this combo here though, you could throw out a storm grenade for a jolt to start DPS, Transcend, throw out a double grenade to proc weaken, super, go through the whole song and dance of your super, and then when that runs out, MORe than likely your transcendence will have ran out or be close to it (depending on if enemies are dying next to the boss or not), allowing you to go straight into the ability spam of apotheosis, or maybe throw one more weaken grenade before that runs out and finish off with the ability spam.
All theoretical though, don't have this roll. but Will be trying it out if I do get it!
I got foetracer/verity for my hunter and I wasnt really aware of what verity did. I had no idea what i was missing out on with death throes
Quick note on vortex grenades at 7:00. I tested this on a few lost sector bosses and it seems like only 1 vortex grenade can do damage over time on a target, the DoT does NOT stack. With apotheosis they are quite good for add clear post super but don’t go a lob all your vortex grenades on the same target
That's been the case for all of the DOT grenades for a while.

I've been running a punchy hunter build in pve and got a nice combo of gyrfalcon with caliban. What a combo. Added ignitions to the build and volatile rounds. It's insane.
Been rocking the bond for a little over a week now & I absolutely LOVE it! 🤣
Would have appreciated a comparison of Apotheosis ability spam DPS vs a heavy weapon. Apotheosis is cool for ability spam after a super, but it is a dead perk outside of that.
I have it with HOIL and star eater just because HOIL helps a bit more in the neutral game (and after all the ability spamming from the super I can still get an extra grenade or two off when the super ends ) and have been getting some good results with it too
No the HOIL only empowers the recharge time on the class item unfortunately, but i do think i get an extra ability off or two with it but its hard to test

after trying hoil vs osmio, i gotta say osmio feels much better especially with bleak watcher
@@lamp6381 does osmio let the bleak watcher return grenade energy on hit? (Bc normal osmio doesn’t so if the class item does, that’d be wild)
you can just swicth to Apotheosis + Star-Eater during damage phase, it seems that the Star-Eater stack will not be gone when you swap to another exotic class item with Star-Eater
Now I’m curious if you replace star eater with inmost light. What happens if you pop transcendence a little before song of flame ends? Will apotheosis still proc? Will the damage buff from inmost like work with transcendence which will also hopefully be working with apotheosis?

Proc apotheosis (which might proc inmost light)
Then pop transcendence which might also proc inmost light

I’ve been enjoying my necrotic star eater combo and doing tons of poisonous arc slide melee (forgot name of aspect) using needle melee gives you three, plus devour to give cooldowns and heels faster.
This is what I got on my first clear, and it’s SO good.
Do ophidians still make it so you can dig and rocket while keeping dig bubble up, if so I’m looking into a star eater ophidian build for using div to try and up the damage div users can do

Would really love to get an updated super DPS test with Titan and Warlock supers using the Spirit of Star Eater. Needlestorm and Nova Bomb both seem like interesting options with it now that Well isn’t as much of a go-to
I got this roll for my Warlock and I also got the Caliban/Liars roll for my Hunter. I feel truly blessed by the RNG gods this expansion lol
So, I think despite the snap giving you ignitions, I think you'd get a little better DPS with the needle melee to unravel, a slowva bomb, and the facet that lets your light attacks do more damage while your target has a darkness debuff.
Especially if you want to add in weapon damage for solo running a dungeon or something.

This would be great for those running tractor cannon who take a dip in DPS for it! Or any rocket with demolitionist since the bird grenade will reload it!
If you get a titan to give you woven mail or void overshields it also buffs the supers melee damage. It slaps

just got my hands on a severance / contact mark for my titan, absolutely insane for consecration builds, one melee and i can pop any champion with it, im excited to test it in gms
My apotheosis strand warlock is one of my top 2 or 3 favorite builds. And it’s gotten even better this expansion with the pulse rifle buff because you can run it with bad juju and have needle storm so fast and then just dump dps with apotheosis and the ability spam directly after casting needle storm. So as soon as I seen this combo I knew I wanted it. Can’t wait to get it and make a prismatic super/ability spam build. Anyone not taking apotheosis seriously and not taking bad juju seriously is sleeping at the wheel. Get your super, spam it, and spam your abilities afterwards.
ive been using song of flame on slr lock with fusions and starfire along with a demo bait and switch rocket and it absolutely COOKS, i can only imagine this will make it eveb stronger seeing as star eater brings the sol nades closer to that of fusions, along with melee ignitions hollyyy

Note about ignition scaling:
ignitions do scale pretty predictably
first off the only thing that matters for ignition scaling is scorch. if an ignition is reached off of scorch it will get ability scaling. Secondly, it only takes the first scorch stack into consideration. Things like dawn chorus (which buffs scorch damage) don't scale (not buffing abillites). Things like winter's guile (as of season of the haunted; yes ik, that's when scorch was introduced, but it was the last time I threw on this shit exotic; please give it the wormgod treatment) scale ignitions off of incinerator snap. Calibans doesn't cause scaling because it doesn't apply scorch (it just triggers an ignition). Scorch is good (for scaling). Scorch is life (for scaling). Ignitions are bad (for scaling). Kinda counterintuitive and it doesn't always work but yeah, scorch scales ignitions from source.
We cant forget that kinetic primary weapons also scorch targets for the user of Song Of Flame AND allies within the vicinity. Things Like Hawkmoon, Touch Of Malice, Outbreak, Dead Mans Tale and Revision Zero go CRAZY. Especially Touch Of Malice with the taken blast it can apply to bosses. Outbreak is also great because the nanites also seem to scorch them from the testing I did.
Hunters with Malfeasance are also insanely good with a Song Of Flame warlock and its probably the reason Lucky Pants was disabled during the day 1 raid. Test it out and tell me what numbers you guys get from it.
Apotheosis star eater was my first drop, now time to try some builds
this was my first drop from the mission, paired it with lost signal and dragon's breath on nova bomb with hellion and and weavers call....with a scuffed rotation i hit around 1.8million on a phase that was shorter than this most of the time was used up from grenade spam after, and i used storm nades.....i didn't put on the jolt fragment either, so with that and a longer phase i think I'm hitting 2.5 million with ammo to spare i only shot the dragon's breath and lost signal(has autoloading) twice in that damage phase.

I also have Apotheosis + Harmony for faster supers and ability spam right after.

To make this even better you add in facet of command and 2 tail fox to fire a rocket in between the abilities
Ok, top dmg rotation is thus: one-two punch shotgun and tractor cannon with the expanding abyss artifact mod for weapons. Pop transcendence BEFORE popping your super (which will give more DR and increase melee and grenade damage on top of the Solipsism increase), Then fire tractor cannon, toss grenade and melee, pop super, grenade, shotgun, melee, repeat, swapping from shotgun to tractor as needed until super ends. Then spam melee and grenade until apotheosis timer ends. I'm going to have to test this rotation once I get the apotheosis/star eater version myself, but with apotheosis/battle harmony one that I have, I'm already breaking 2mil damage. So I expect to break 3mil with stareaters
for melee run the stasis one w/ the fragment that reloads your weapon when you freeze an enemy
@Aztecross you need to check the Titan Mark with Spirit of HoarFrost and Spirit of The Horn, together with the aspect Drengrs Lash, you have an Ice barrier with solar damage and strand suspension
This was the first one I got and man is it fun
My second one was immortal light star eater. Also quite good
if you use the facet that makes kills while transcendent make orbs, popping transcendence before using the super will make you create hella orbs of power if paired with fire power and heavy handed

I'm personally chasing this roll and a Osmio+Verity's roll. It's actually insane how quick the vortext nade comes back with Spirit of Osmio. Also want to try Apotheosis+Harmony for more supers.
Those are exactly my 2 rolls of solipsism, i've yet to try the osmio one with vortex
been farming a while for the same role. best i've got was spirit of filament and star eater. its still really good now that i dont have to use feed the void to get devour letting me run bleak watchers and whatever else i want giving me 6 slots to use

Definitely check out spirit of verity and gunpowder gamble synergy on hunter, seems like it could be decent.
Wut bout inner most star eaters? Would that do more with faster charging song of flame abilities?
For my hunters out there who maybe haven't gotten it. Spirit of Galanor + Spirit of Star Eater is a wild combo. Best of both worlds is storm's edge or Silence/Squall (Sadly Goldie doesn't get back a lot of energy but does hella damage regardless) Galanor is like a poor man's orpheus and gives a lot of energy back on all supers!
IMO I haven’t tested yet but necrotic and stareater is going to be overlooked and is a much better combo especially given the new raid exotic. Strand super. I also like the look of necrotic and swarm.
Doesn't facet of bravery work with the prismatic grenade? Plus facet of order (i think) to reload your weapons when freezing enemies (with the prismatic grenade) 🤔

I feel apotheosis works better with burst supers like nova and needlestorm. I especially like it with needlestorm and threadling grenades because you can delete a room with the sheer volume of threadlings you can spawn
Does shield crush work with an arc soul since its technically a grenade?

I think whats unique about song of flame is ability to use tractor cannon and still maintain good dps
The thing with song of flame, is you can still use some weapons like anarchy or witherhoard in between. Even a izanagi's in between probably wouldnt be too bad.
Or you could just novabomb then spam weapons lmao
Was really hoping to see a test of this with nova bomb with facets of courage and bravery, the enduring abyss artifact mod, and strand melees. Apply weaken (hunter friend with tether or yourself with tractor are ideal), strand melee, storm grenade, Star-eater juiced nova bomb, then spam 1 storm per 2 melees
anyone know what gloves were on most of the video? i cant recall any with those finger tips like that
Theoretically, if we wanted to add on to this. We could replace storm grenades with threading grenades, and use euphony to resume damage right after spamming threadlings and snaps? I’m not sure as I haven’t gotten to play with anything in the past week until I get back home 😭
u can prob swap the snap melee with twin tailed fox and Facet of Command, just weaving in Jolt nades and Twintail rocket over and over after your super, or use void naid to weaken and proc expanding abyss, havent tested it myself, TLDR after snapping and tossing nades with ur super spam twin tailed and grenade over and over

I’ve been really enjoying spirit of harmony + spirit of apotheosis for constant abilities and constant supers.
I got a heart of inner most light and star eater class item, it might be a diet version but I enjoy it for neutral game gains
It seems getaway artist can self-replenish the stasis turret whenever the arc buddy gets kills/damages enemies. You can keep spamming turrets without even killing any enemy
I have 20 of these class items so far. Only 1 has star eater and 7 have osmiomancy... I feel there should be a way to favour a perk in each column at the very least.
Stasis turret be4 pop then fragment where abilities do more dmg to darkness affected.
Also add in stasis turret shatter dmg
Finally toss in dragons breath spam. Slowish start but once going every grenade melee u can shoot a rocket

9:53 Cross, the Transcendence nade comes back faster with Melee HITS. So if your' using that against a boss, the nade will come back faster.

A friend and I did this mission and I got the exact roll. As an apotheosis enjoyer after starfire’s nerf, I thought, “Huh, this might have potential.” Then lo and behold aztecross makes a video with the damn roll.
Something to note: Spirit of the Claw (albeit not as good, probably, as Spirit of the Star-Eater) gives two Song of Flame melee. Which was completely unexpected when I put on my Apotheosis/Claw class item.
I’d like to see a damage cycle with a demo rocket or something and just pop a shot in between some of your super uptime.
In solo legend i was cookin bosses with helion super and dragons breath (no catalyst) and a solar holster and then just spam abilities till it loaded and fire another.
I can't believe you didn't even talk about using this with a demolitionist weapon, particularly a solar one to apply additional scorch constantly. Or even just Dragon's Breath for scorch and ignitions on top of reloading from all of them as well.
I think Spirit of Star Eater and Spirit of Inmost light is better tho? It would make your super do even more damage.
