- The Surge, Fast Tech Scrap 1.04 and 1.05 patch.
At any stage during the game, return to the starting ops center holding a bunch of tech scrap, die and before reclaiming your scrap kill enough enemies to get the timer over 5 mins, this will give you 50% extra of your tech scrap when collected. Repeat the process as needed increasing your tech scrap total each time.

Getting the timer between 5 and 10 minutes get you 1.5x dropped scrap. Getting the timer past 10 minutes gets you 2x dropped scrap. I just checked past 30 minutes and it was still 2x. Find the best time collection loop for you and get grinding
For anyone that just got the game like me. The exploit DOES STILL WORKS. Im at 1.5 billion don't go past that u could lose everything.

I can't stack more that 10Million if i get more than 10M it wont work next time , and when i do the method this give me 5Million now i have 25M in 30mins and im in NG+ btw i mean you can buy everything with 5M scrabs and get lvl 150 and i guess that enough for rest of the game cuz you dont get any more slots dont get greedy guys you may lose all the money 😊😇

This is important! DO NOT Try to store over 2 billion on your player!!!! It becomes a negative number and you technically lose it all!!! I am fine because I have been making back up saves from my PS4 to a USB. I haven't tested to see how much the Bank can carry, but DO NOT TRY the 50% increase drop method used in this video if you are about to break 2 billion scrap carried.
....ok, so every time I hit 1.5 billion, I dropped 500 million into core upgrades until I reached level 1000. Don't know it there is an end to core upgrades, but seeing that it took a couple of billion to reach that level, I don't want to spend the time to see how high the core level can go. I Did the 50% scrap drop one final time to put me back at 1.5 billion scrap. In the process of banking it now. Unfortunately this process will take several hours..... no joke... it takes a long time to deposit 1.5 billion scrap into the bank. You know, on a final note, this isn't really a glitch, it's more of an exploit. You get a 50% bonus reward if you meet certain requirements, I guess they never figured people would be willing to risk millions of scrap by leaving it in their pocket and dying 2 consecutive deaths before recovery (dying twice before you recover your scrap causes you to lose all of that scrap that you had dropped). Again, thanks for pointing this out!!!!!

There is a unlimited tech scrap exploit (not a glitch) available in the game which still works as of now. But due to a patch its now limited to 9.99 million per run.
How it works is you take any amount of scrap to the FIRST AREA near the medical bay, say 10000 (more the better) , and then die. You will drop your scrap but the game will give you 2.30 minutes. 1st area is recommended because its easy, fast and in a circle. Each enemy you kill will give you 20 seconds. So if you pick you scrap with more than 5 minutes left you will gain 50% bonus scrap and with 7.30 minutes you will get 100% of BONUS.
Eg if collected 10000 with 5 minutes you will gain 15000 or with 7.30 minutes you get 20000. Go to med Bay then backout to reset the enemies but DO NOT bank your scrap. Now repeat the steps from dying again to drop 20k to get 50% or 100%.
1. Get killed nearby med bay (1st area is easy)
2. Kill enemy to increase timer to 5 or 7.30 minutes for 50% or 100% bonus.
3. Pickup your scrap.
4. Visit med or upgrade bay to reset enemies.
5. Repeat steps 1 to 4.
Note1: Try to get good weapons so you can easily kill enemies, so I recommended playing the game for a bit because timing is every thing.
Note 2: max amount (drop + bonus) is 9.99 million. So do not go above it. Example: (100% bonus) I drop 7 million get bonus of 7 million total is 14 million.
I go to med vay and drop 4-5 milliin to get my In hand scrap at 9 or 9.99 mil. Then I exploit with 9 mil and get 9 mil bonus total 18. Drop 8 mil in med bay.
Please make a backup to a usb because if you die a 2nd time without picking up your scrap you will lose it all.
Or bank little bit of scrap regularly.
Or go in with endgame build because then you would literally would have to stand for 20 seconds with 4 enemies hitting you to get yourself killed :-)

Amazing post mate. I did this for the first time and I was able to get 13mill now I spend some on power core and left with 10mill I did the run again and it didn't raised it stayed at 10mill how can I fix it?
Nvm mate it looks like it stop working when you had more than 10mill
@Shon M. Oddshow what! you don't have to bank anything just go & keep doing this till you get 14mill go & upgrade then bank the rest which I don't recommend just keep them on yourself so whenever you want to do it again you don't have to start from the beginning..
@Shon M. Oddshow if you bank scrap then you would get lower amount of exploited scraps. You can bank as much as you like. But my recommendation is to not bank at all untill you go above 9 million. Bank only what is above 9 million. Eg. If you have 11 million bank 2 million, if you have 15 million bank 6 million to keep scrap at hand below 10 millio.

MAN THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!! I started a whole new game after being half way thru the game after seeing this video! Took a couple of tries but I've found that the easiest way to rack +100% is to go thru the run about 3 times without picking up your lost scrap(trust me after doing it a few times you damn near memorize the patterns). By the 3rd run you should be well over 7:30. Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!
Also, if there are exposed body parts aim for those they die quicker. And if they're fully armored make sure you do a finisher because you farm material needed for crafting.
Going thru it multiple times to get 100% actually gets you less scrap than if you only shoot for the 50% bonus. Let's say you have 1000 scrap for example. If you go thru three times to get 100% you end up with 2000. If it takes you once to get 50% though you would end up with 3375 at the end of the third run. I was going for the 100% bonus as well until I realized I was messing up lol.

Tested this today and works up to 10 million. Once you have 10,000,000 - the multiplier mood longer works. Will work up to 9,999,999.
I am on version 1.16 which is the latest version of The Surge.
Yeah, I was doing it tonight and noticed the same thing. ~15 million is still great though, and it probably didn't take me more than an hour to get to that number once I had the timing down (I had to change from Rhino armour to Lynx to gain a bit of extra speed).
Steam version Surge 1 2022.
If you go over the 5.00 timer you get 50% more scrap, if you go above 7.30 you get double your scrap back, but only if it was less than 10 million originally (since a patch).
The best thing to do is take some scrap into the safe bank and die with 9'999'999 scrap then go over 7 min 30 sec and get almost 20 mil scrap.
Then you can bank again and die with 9'999'999 and rinse and repeat. Banking seems to take a maximum 100k per second......takes forever...
That said I consider this an exploit and it breaks game balance(high power level), only useful if you want to do high NG+++ cycles.

@@sharukhsiddiqui9120 Every enemy you kill adds 20 seconds, so kill enemies until the timer is over 5 min to get a 50% bonus or go for 7min 30sec to get a 100% bonus

@@doomtrigger I just did this yesterday, ran for about 30 minutes and got 9 million tech. Do it after you beat the first boss. If you don't get it to 5 or 7 minutes, run to OPS and activate the Gear Assembly to respawn the enemies and run around again. Two run arounds on this route gets me to around 7:15
I don't know if it's just me but I found that after around 2 million if you die the timer to go pick it back up isn't there and I lost it all.

I think it may just be you or a rare thing because I had no problem leaving up to 60 MIL on the ground and dieing. I stopped there but it seemed as if I could keep going. Are you sure it was 2 MIL and not 2 BIL?

Working on all versions, its an actual game mechanic. Yup, dying with 30k you should get 45K scrap when you pick up your tech scrap with 5min on the timer....

looks like patch v1.07 cancels this from working. tech multiplier is lost when using medbay now.
EDIT - tapping into the gear assembly bit resets the enemy spawn but NOT the multiplier, not sure if that can be used to act as a workaround.
This farming trick doesn't require the tech multiplier at all, so I'm not sure what you mean by your post. This trick exploits an intended game mechanic and as such is unlikely to ever get patched. FWIW, I'm using this technique today, on version 1.16 of the game on the PS4, and it still works exactly as depicted in this video.
omg you guys are doing it wrong. you gotta get the timer to up 10:00 by killing more enemies and you can double your scraps instead of 50%. i was able to get 9,999,999 scraps then die, then i did a bigger longer run to kill more enemies to increase the clock from 2:30min all the way up to 11:00min and it gave me 9,999,999x200% = 18,999,999. do short 5min runs are a waste of time.
