Season 4, Episode 18. "Well, there's only one explanation. Obviously I'm a God." "You're not a God." "How else do you explain it? I write things and then they come to life. Yeah, no, I'm definitely a God. A cruel, cruel capricious God." LOL
This was definitely a stand out episode not just for the obvious reveal of God, but the fact that we didn't have to wait till the end for the big reveal. Plus everything with Dean & Sam, our main characters and heroes, is treated as a B plot which definitely a change of pace to what we're used to
Everything around Chuck's character hints at him being God....the books, him narrating the finale in season 5 and just disappearing from his chair at the end, him not being in the list of prophet's names engraved in Castiel's brain and also him being presumed dead after Kevin's appearance as a prophet but then appearing in season 10 in that episode with the whole supernatural music....it's only now that I'm rewatching that it dawns on me how much of it was obvious. I'm also pretty sure that Dean never had his necklace with him whenever they met with Chuck prior to this episode, I do believe it was with Castiel the whole time.
@@st4rpt_603 I don't know if you realized later or if someone else mentioned it, but Cas returned the amulet to Dean during a time when Dean was disillusioned with Sam and so he threw it into the trash...the episode ends with it in the can but it is possible that Sam picked it up offscreen?
Love this episode. This was also Robbie's last episode for the show. I loved the dialogue between God and Metatron, Rob and Curtis captured it beautifully. Great reaction.
11 seasons in and they never stop surprising us. I think the episode that makes me do a Chuck double take is "the end" When Zachariah sends Dean to the future.. hippie Cass and Chuck telling Dean to hoard toilet paper.
I was waiting for you to react to this one! It´s one of the best episodes of the entire show, in my opinion, and Jeremy Carver was the best showrunner after Kripke to me. The one thing I wish was more explained was the Samulet, because it was just implied it was with Sam, I wish they had confirmed it somehow. But the final sequence with Chuck singing and things happening never fails to give me chills. Buckle up, the end of this season is pretty epic!!!!

Metatron and chucks scenes were so good, some of my favorites from the whole series! Both actors were just so phenomenal and I still cannot believe how they made metatron so likeable in just one episode, his monologue about humanity is just beautiful and human and everything. And the song at the end, I‘m not sure but maybe that is my favorite scene ever!
I love so many things like the coffee mug saying "World's Greatest Dad" being one of the first things we see before Chuck. He also confirms what Joshua said in back in S5 that Dean's amulet could not find him unless he allowed it. "Fare Thee Well" was beautiful! "No one likes a helicopter parent." - LOVE IT!

I was going to give you all the clues but you said you were going to rewatch The Monster At The End of This Book, so I won't. But there are clues than just in that episode. I was so excited to see you watch this one. Metatron was great to stand up to him.
The writers planned Chuck's character to be God all along. Chuck and God are the same entity. Chuck isn't just a vessel like Jimmy Novak or Sam and Dean.
I feel like Cas is God's true favorite, he always saves him and brings him back to life, and Cas is literally the perfect representation of what God wanted from the angels. Cas believed and trusted God the longest(besides Joshua), and learns to love and admire humanity and everything of His creation unlike all of the other angels who needed Cas to tell and show them how to evolve.
Always want more Chuck or god lol. More rob lol. Need flashbacks to his travels and creating everything and other stuff that they haven't covered yet lol.
I'm like Chuck god don't have a soul why lol. Maybe that's why he's acting like this. Like if he had a soul maybe he'd be more helpful. I had thought though that maybe one time he did have a soul but he had to use that soul to create other souls and like used it up to make all of us which just adds to the disappointment and anger he has that he used up all his soul for this kind of thing but that's just this episode when you watch more you see that's not true lol. Watching my words don't know how far you got lol.
Now after season fourteen finale I'm rewatching these with some skepticism with god like how strong is amara really she really that much stronger she can kill him lol. And he's laid out dying is he really or is that how he wrote for UT to go to explain his absence in the fight. He loves to watch loves to act. So I could see him acting like he's dying like she's stronger cause it makes a better story than he's stronger snap she gone threat over that'd be a boring story more epic if the world ending and its up to team free will to save it lol. You look very Pretty In Pink. Anyhow, yes, this is a huge turning point episode. They had some very intelligent dialog between Chuck and Metatron about God, God's purpose, humanity. Remember that Amara is Dean's Cosmic Girlfriend.
Maybe he's down playing the Angels like you said they helped him with amara I'm wondering if he really did need help with amara like is he as weak as he wants to make it sound. Like he's god but he needed help from angels to lock her away same with team free will does he really need help to stop her lol. Is she really as strong as we're seeing or is that how he's writing everything to happen lol. Is he really dying or is he acting lol. He loves to act. He loves to watch. He likes epic stories. I get what he and writers of the show are saying if you got god on the show any stakes or conflicts are gone lol. God just snaps everything away any threatlol. I can see that being boring or eventually will lol.

Most of us figured out that Chuck was God beck in the season 5 finally when he disappeared into white smoke after Sam jumped in the whole.
