      You have monster bucks because you have less hunters, less pressure, less cars, less severe winters, more antler restrictions, more uninterrupted land and we were hunting on a mountain. Need any more reasons? Shaming a hunter for being proud of their kill isn't right, not being proud of your kill is also messed up. You're just another loud-mouthed spoiled hunter.

      So do we. We did everything we could to finish him quickly but sometimes it doesn't go so well. An inexperienced hunter would have just tried shooting immediately and probably wounding it further, or rushing the field to get closer and push the buck further away and maybe lose him. And it was further complicated by the fact that the buck wandered on to someone else's field, directly in view of the owners house. The end result was a deer that didn't go to waste, he was eaten and euro mounted.

  • @richbowman8442
    @richbowman8442 4 роки тому

    Good video. Next time you drag out a buck, try this. Take the front hooves and put them in the antlers. Tie the rope around the head. When you pull, the front of the deer will come off the ground. This can make it easier with just one person. With two you won’t break a sweat.

    This is the kind of bad hunting practices that give hunters a bad name. You have a wounded buck, and wait for a long period of time for the original shooter to get there and kill it. Why didn't one of the others kill it if you knew where it was, in plain view, rather than letting it suffer? Frankly, as a long time hunter with a strong ethical code, I was disgusted by your lack of compassion and humanity, one of you should have tracked it and killed it as soon as you could.

      We've come a long way since about 15 years ago. I'll admit, we used to shoot spikes and fork horns but we made a loose rule to let them walk. This film is the result of better buck hunting practices in this area. So, we may not be perfect, but our deer management has gotten better. As for does, we haven't harvested a doe here in at least 15 years. We let them walk so they can attract, breed and give birth to more bucks.

I personally have never shot a buck that far but I damn sure know where my bullet is gonna hit if I had to shoot that far. It’s called practice. If your not comfortable shooting that distance then don’t shoot that distance. Feel bad for that deer.
