Favorite joke from the movie was Conner and Jake fighting on the boat and Conner calls it an octagon and Jake is like “who tf taught you shapes” 😂

Connor: *"We was filming?"*

I had the same thought! Until the very end I was not entirely convinced that Mcgregor knew he was in a movie. Like the producers said, "We'll give you a ton of money to head down to the Florida Keys and fight Jake Gyllenhaal. Fighting Jake Gyllenhaal is a crime though so you gotta come up with a fake name first." Mcgregor: "Call me Knox then." Producers: "Yeah, sure whatever. Just let us get out of here before you try to drive anything."

Patrick Swayze is laughing in his resting place. Dude was a really great actor.
Goodnight sweet Prince
He was legendary and perfect actor he rest in peace he petty palace in heaven he be missing a lot he made awesome 😎 movie 🍿
No one puts Patrick in a coroner
He was great in The Outsiders.
WATCH Point break, surprisingly good! Swayze was on another level in the movie.
They used CGI fight scenes. Let that sink in.
Do yourself a favor and watch the Original if you haven't yet.
I have a hard time knowing when a movie uses CGI for the most part, but this movie made it painfully obvious in or outside of fight scenes.
My favorite St Patrick’s Day was one year in Hollywood a theater did a “St. Patrick Swayze Day” double feature of Roadhouse and Point Break. Such a fun double feature to see with a rowdy crowd.
Let’s all agree rn, that opening Post Malone CGI scene was dog shit
First one had strippers, sex, monster truck, Patrick Swayze, Sam Elliot and it involved a whole town who came together in the end to take it back. This one had none of that and only Jake Gyllenhaal can save the day, while destroying everything.
Damn, this honestly so true
Saw the 89 one after this one and yeah… the old one is a much much better film all around.
and thats why i will never watch this new one, i rather rewatch the old one.... again...and again .....and again
Wow, Alex doesn’t look miserable in the thumbnail?!
Must have been a trick of the light
First thing I noticed
OJ is right who hasn’t seen road house it’s a classic
Classically dumb
Angry Joe should be roundhouse kicked for not knowing the name wade garrett
Most ppl that have watched this. I've seen the classic recently, and this one is better... Nostalgia is funny.
@@blazenfate it’s really not better. Actually a way to improve this movie is to call it a sequel. If you take the premise that what causes dalton’s rage is that he has blocked out the loss of best friend wade garrett. It actually explains why he snaps.
Did I see the original Roadhouse?. He'll ya! Im 49 years old.. Its up on my A shelf right next to Empire strikes back, Godfather, predator, running man, escape from NY, big trouble in little China....
Hell freaking yeah! This movie didn't even have any boobs. What kind of remake is this?? And Jeff Healey is dead (RIP you legend) so don't do any lame bar bands. Just have a jukebox playing old blues music instead.
Absolutely!!! Top tier low brow entertainment.
This was dumb fun and I enjoyed it. Conor’s performance carried with how over the top his villain is, he gave me Kano vibes at times.
I saw a lot of people claiming his acting was bad. And yeah it was but in a way that was entertaining and added to the movie.
I thought he wasn't great. Most of the rest of the movie was better.
Could Jake play a good Johnny Cage ??😮
Him crashing the car to park everytime was great.
I eish conor was in it more, dude was a gta character and stole every scene lmao
Moe was sucha good comedic relief! Love how they made him awkwardly nice and the actor nailed it
Is he a friend of yours? No I just broke his arm haha
Agreed he was great.
He reminded me of OJ every time I saw him
He was hilarious
House........Road house.
“…that too.”
@@rogerpuzzitiello5175 .....Ghost.
Doctor house
Peter griffin is the real road house 😂
Patrick swayze is the only roadhouse I recognize
Saying no line is memorable ? “Where the fuck is everyone” will liver through memes forever 😂😂
And it was already memed that same weekend
I love how nobody has brought up the motif from the original “I thought you’d be bigger” Patrick didn’t have to be a big badass to end up being the big badass he was in the movie. Something I wish movies did more of today!
This has to be an April fool; the ONLY Road House you should watch is the original from the mid 80's. Everything from its plot, soundtracks, sincerity, action, and cinematography was better in the original film. Road House without the Jeff Haley Band and Otis Redding ain't Road House !!
Totally agree
Nobody cares if the og is better it's still a fun watch
Yea but the 2024 version is still enjoyable and worth a watch.
This movies only real problem was being 30 minutes too long lmao
I remember looking at my watch during what felt like obviously we’re headed into the climax and there was 35 mins left lmao
I think you could cut a giant chunk out of the center of this movie and better pace the final act and you’d have an excellent film.
Yeah there was a dip
You’re both speaking nothing but facts
The whole thing was a pile of garbage.
It had many, many real problems and the running time was the least of its transgressions.
@@gmorkins6006 the first road house was great but ridiculous I didn't expect much
Original Roadhouse is a masterpiece.
Ed: the first film has “Jeff Healey” that made the film so good imo.
7/10 is way too high. I get its not a serious movie and its VOD but its so cheesy with bad acting, bad npc like random dialogue, and bad plot points. It doesn’t deserve a 7, it’s more like a 5.
It's a homage to the B movies of the 80s. And it delivered exactly that.
@@TheGraemi But it’s still not good. I get that it paid homage to the cheesy 80s movies but that doesn’t mean it has to be bad too. Bad movies shouldn’t get good ratings
@@coryjack606 Well, I would give around a 6. I saw a lot worse acting than this.
Beside you should know that a 7/10 from Joe for something he likes (not loves) is already a 5 for others. 😅
@@TheGraemi Its not the worse acting ever and not the worse movie ever but its still an average to below average movie. I think 5 is more realistic. 7 is pretty good according to AJS standards and this isn’t a pretty good movie.
@@coryjack606 Well than we agree to disagree. 😉
None of this felt like roadhouse it would have been called something else but they slapped the roadhouse name on it 3/10
I haven't seen the original yet and only checked this one out because of this review. Holy shit was this movie bad. I truly can't relate to these guys anymore.
9:32 Ironically, Conor McGregor said his focus would be fighting now, not more movies in interviews lol
only reason he did the movie was because he was recovering from surgery after an injury.
Connors acting was so bad that it was actually fun to watch. I'd never want him in a serious movie or a near serious movie, but in this it kind of worked.
It went with the general vibe of the original. Johnny (the antagonist who gets his throat ripped out) was fabulously hammy. Dude couldn't say his lines without sounding like an idiot.
No, it wasn't.
😂
He was amazing as Knox. You're just delusional
@@sebastianwalt9991 Hey everyone has different standards I guess! Mine just are a lot higher than yours.
1st one to say this. Connor M is deffo gonna be in the next Expendables or F&F film.
This movie was so bad and stupid. While my GF and I made it through the whole thing, it is quickly forgettable and doesn't hold a candle to the original. After watching it, it made me realize just how good the original was and how great of an actor Patrick Swayze was. If you have to choose between the two.. see the original. This new one you won't remember you saw it in about 2 weeks whereas the original you will never forget and now you can also be 'in' on all the roadhouse jokes made over the years.
Huh? The original was also cheesy and pretty stupid which gave it its charm lol
I wholeheartedly agree with you.
I don't understand you guys. A movie will be a bad movie, but is dumb fun and you'll absolutely shit all over it and give it low ratings. Then you have a movie like this and you give it above average ratings? Makes no sense.
And you will continue to not understand, because they don't have a clue either about wtf are they talking about. Their "reviews" is just like a couple of friends talking about stuff, all subjective, which is fun and all, but at least say it like it is. When they say stuff like "we're professional reviewers" my eyes roll and keep rolling. I still don't know why I watch them still, i guess for a noise to fill the background...
So basically there is not a single reason to watch it.
Been saying it since Nightcrawler:
Gyllenhaal would absolutely murder as The Joker. The guy has some serious range. My favorite actor for a while. He the new DiCaprio, not recognized like he deserves.
It was a fucking mess of a movie boys, behave.
There is a sequel. It's called Roadhouse: Last call.
I appreciate your opinion about this movie, but I don't care for this movie at all.
What kind of grown man Joe's age doesn't know roadhouse? That's actually insane
What a childlish comment
You know you dont have to be of age to automatically know something exists, right?
This kid
This movie isn't a 7/10 💀💀💀💀 In any way shape or form and is a contender for worst movie of 2024
It wasn’t that bad and they’re grading it for what it is. A movie to just watch and not take serious
Why is everyone so positive with this movie? It's hot garbage. Super cheesy slow choreography, really bad over the top CGI action garbage going on like fast and furious lite.
It was fun. What did you want, a documentary?
@@trancendental5373 I wanted a competent film. Or at least something really fun that didn't dip into being a cartoon out of nowhere. Connor M. was awful.
perfectly self aware, nice pace, and Jake killed it....I loved his character... I would love to see him take a bus somewhere into another new good guy gotta do its thing....id take a sequel
Whatever you're smoking share with the rest of the class.
It must be nice going through life being so easily entertained.
@@Loyal_Lionimagine being able to like dumb movies that are meant to be dumb, and also like movies that are actually great, i swear this movie brought out all the cinema snobs 😂
Swayze was a respected professional bouncer brought in for his expertise…. The reboot a psychotic loser who killed his best friend gets found randomly by accident 😂 idk it’s just a weird choice imo. It just has a diff tone that doesn’t match the original
Its super weird how the ufc stuff doesnt lead to anything, definitely feels like they just wanted ufc footage to squeeze in
I like that OJ was able to break out his acting chops alongside Jake Gyllenhaal..
I haven't seen it hearing its on Prime, i will watch it. But the original was a cult classic, and you really can't beat the classics.
some comment saying how could they rate this movie high, but i gotta say its a pretty decent movie, and fun. not everything has to be super serious.
People who hated this movie didn't have the right mindset. It was stupid and it knew it
@@bentucker2301most of the negative reactions i’ve seen are people who go into this expecting some kind of oscar winner. Its got conor mcgregor playing a villian in a remake of a cheesy 80s movie and the trailer shows exactly what kind of movie it is. My favorite thing is how they talk about the original as if its a masterpiece up there with shawshank or godfather lol
needed a Bigfoot driving through a car dealership
I’m surprised y’all liked it…was fully expecting Alex to tear into this. It took like 30-40 minutes for Conor McGregor to show up and I was a bit bored in that time. The plot was generic asf, acting was horrible, and the film had no heart. The antagonists outside of Conor were horrible. Jake Gyllenhaal put a good performance, but he and the love interest didn’t have much chemistry. Outside of the fights (even some of those were awkwardly done with CGI) the film didn’t do anything else well. I’m between a 5 and 6
Agreed. And not a single roundhouse is unforgivable
I’m a movieholic and this movie was not a good movie but an entertaining one, worth a watch once.
Alex is 100% Right. If Streaming services Produced movies like Roadhouse and Extraction levels of quality? I'd have no issues with the Ads they are now throwing on these services lmfaoooo
I'm not paying to watch ads.
Amazon prime has ads now.. yah
@@emhu2594yeah thats wild, the whole fucking point of me paying for a streaming service was to watch what i want without ads, i immediately cancelled prime when i got an ad for some bs
This film wasn’t good. I don’t get the reviews.
“Be nice until it’s time to not be nice.” When Conor showed up, he was like from a different movie. lol
The visual gags with McGreggor were pretty damn funny. Like him hanging on to a rope being dragged by a speedboat with that shit eating grin on his face.
The '89 film is the perfect example of a great "bad" movie 👍
It's a guilty pleasure. Amazing 👏
It's the very definition of a great dive bar that somehow has an amazing kitchen.
Conor McGregor is so irish that he even sounds like a leprechaun.
Road House one of my favourite films, not gone near this one
Joe, if its so important that you need to watch the original again to remember the comparisons after you put out your review that you even say it in the review, then you need to watch the movie before your review. Do your work as a critic.
AJ: Alex just watched it recently
Alex: I’ve watched it 100 times
😂😂😂
How is Joe reviewing movies? He doesn’t know Sam Elliot and doesn’t remember road house what? Joe keeps dropping the ball, what’s next he never watch tombstone or jurassic Park ?
Give the guy a break lol
Overreacting a bit lol
Dude is constantly screaming about every nerd project and constantly gets names and actors wrong. Nothing new.
ROAD HOUSE!
Cant beat the classic
They did seem to forget main character Peter Griffin but still my favorite line was when Roadhouse said “You can take the house off the road…but you can never take the road outta the house”
Sadly Road House 2: Last Call exists, the main character is Shane Tanner and was supposed to be Dalton again with Swayze, but he backed out. Tanner was rewritten to be Dalton's son I believe.
Fact: Conner McGregor was the “Motion-capture actor” for the Scar King… true story. (Thought it was relevant to the discussion of Road House.)
Awful movie.
Pay attention to the cloths people are wearing, next scene they change cloths lol. Just a dumpster fire c movie.
Joe needs to let his colleagues speak and stop interupting them .. if he doesnt want them taking the limelight then dont have them on the team.
Sadly this has always been a problem
@@themightycrixus1131 Yes its frustrating everytime he says "Joe what did you think?" i am waiting for the interuption seconds later
@SecretOfMonkeyIsland784 yeah I left the channel a few years ago and came back this morning to see how he is doing and still the same haha
@@themightycrixus1131its so bad on the news videos, they will finish a news story and alex will move on to the next, then joe will interrupt to talk about the last story again, or interrupt him to ask what the next story is while alex is trying to tell the headline
7/10 lol, the movie was trash, senseless plot. The bad guys have money to build a huge hotel but instead of letting the bar be on the land or just pay them off they decide to start fights in there?? Conors character is willing to possibly kill people and set fire to a market for a jacket? He is also the worse actor of all time. The cgi fights look crap... Dalton is a literal multiple murderer, his girlfriend is the second worst actor of all time. I could go on 2/10 at best.
Road House director: just... read the lines and be yourself
Conor McGregor with the big snort: Where the Fook is everyone?!!
When are you reviewing Shogun? Potentially a 10/10 tv show for me and I'm surprised you are not watching it since you watch all the other garbage tv shows on Disney+ 😅
Listen is it anywhere as good as the original? Hell NO! Is it still better than 98% of the usual Hollywood BS? Yeah. I appreciated the sort of throwback vibe, I just wish they didn't link it to the original classic that is Road House. "Pain don't hurt"...but that part did. Shoulda called this one anything else, and it would've been just as good.
>Is it still better than 98% of the usual Hollywood BS? Yeah.
No it isn't. You shouldn't praise mediocrity just because it's slightly better than most of the garbage that came out. The movie is pure trash and doesn't deserve the Road House name in it's title.
@@mesicek7I don't think anyone is giving it high praise. Just that it's slightly above average, and better than most other woke hollywood trash. Like I said I wish they named it anything other than Road House, cause it has nothing to do with the original, doesn't come close to it, and shouldn't really be linked to it in name only. Other than that it was slightly above average for a streaming release, that gets an additional point for the super over the top Conor McGregor parts. No one is claiming this is awesome or high art.
We just gonna gloss over how much Moe looked like Other Joe? That’s why I loved Moe
This doesn’t even compared to extraction. Extraction was a good action flick which knew exactly what it wanted to be. This movie wanted to be serious and comedic at different points of the story and it didn’t work. Trailers didn’t lean into its comedic theme enough because that’s what this movie ends up being. More of a action comedy
This movie was God awful, I’m shocked on how you guys didn’t tear this apart.
I enjoyed it, legitimately loved how corny and whacky it got. Conor seemed to fit perfectly well in the vibe of the entire movie. The student car scene killed me man
The original got a sequel but it was a direct to DVD.
Yes...a team up with the guy who guy who
has 6-8 gaping wounds in his chest. That makes sense Joe.
Road House 2024 is a cinematic masterpiece and Conor’s brilliant heartfelt performance will go down in history as one of the greatest ever captured on film.
😂😂😅😊
Facts
Genuinely shocked Alex liked this movie.
Thought OJ and AJ would like the movie but thought Alex would be with me here.
My taste in movies might be s*** because I loved Godzilla x Kong.
I’m numb with rage right now…
- Knox Knox!
- who's there?
- Conor McGregor
His "acting" was one of the weirdest things I saw in a while.
overall i liked it, but the one part that got me was the "bar fight"! and then all 100 people start fighting each other simultaneously, it was the dumbest thing ive ever seen, but otherwise it was good
Alex’s comment about the cowboys 😂
The OG movie they hired a professional bar rescue guy. The 2nd movie, they hired an underground fighter turned bouncer.
Other Joe, my man. The original Road House is an absolute classic
Roadhouse was the epitome of the 80's machismo action movie done right, and I loved it. I know this new film won't be anything like it, so I'm not in a hurry to see it.
What about that opening scene with post Malone fighting while a post malone song plays in the background lol
It was a fun film overall.
YOU DID A 45 MIN REVIEW OF THIS MOVIE??? 🙄🙄🙄. It doesn't deserve a 5 minute review.
Add some rice rockets and it becomes "Fast and The Furious -- Road House"
This movie was fun as long as you take it for what it is. Conor was the best part of the movie because he was literally just a GTA character.
Crashing cars, stealing, dies then respawns in the hospital
I do hope there is multiple sequels. It could easily be a franchise. Joe had an amazing idea. Bring McGregor back but as an ally. After the fight, McGregors character respects Dalton and decides to help him with a bigger evil boss. The character already shows isn't loyal to an idea or place, he killed his boss' son. He's just a lunatic having fun. Could easily work.
I didn't know tiki bars attract violent hooligans😂
"We got our own little octagon"..."Who taught you shapes". The raft fight at the end.
Ellie is played by Daniela Melchior the actress from suicide squad 2 Ratcatcher
Average to below average movie with Conor playing a caricature of himself lol. GUYS WHEN ARE YOU REVIEWING HELLDIVERS 2?!?!
Patrick Swaye Road House was cool imo
spoiler...
It's on the referee to stop the fight not Dalton.... We can assume fighters are on a different mentality inside the cage. That whole part was dumb coming from a casual UFC fan. Once the match is called, people would start entering cage like the medical team?? So dalton could'nt have went back for seconds. Anyways putting way too much thought into a silly film haha
The folks from that dude's corner would have been in the ring immediately along with security.
The most unbelievable thing going on in this movie was the fact that absolute no one besides the bad guys had guns down in Florida.
If he were still alive, I’m willing to bet that Patrick Swayze would really hate this remake to the 1989 classic that went against Weekend At Bernie’s, NOES 5 Dream Child, FT13th Part VIII Jason Takes Manhattan, Halloween 5 Revenge Of Michael Myers, Lethal Weapon 2, Ghostbusters 2, Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, and Batman.
Ironic how Patrick Swayze was in Donnie Darko too… like how is Jake and Patrick movie career always meet up at some point in irl.?
The original is great C movie content. Quotes like “Pain don’t hurt” and “You’re gonna be my regular Saturday night thing baby” are classic
Film was terrible, just watch the original.
Conor’s “villain” character is the worst thing about the movie. He’s terrible. Aside from that it wasn’t as bad as I expected.
Jake carried the whole film. He’s the only legit actor in the whole thing. Without him the movie wouldn’t work at all.
The only scene worth a damn is When Ellwood and Brandt are sitting at the bar...that was it... movie was a fucking disgrace
Its a dumb action flick man, its not trying to win an Oscar
There was a Roadhouse 2. It was called Roadhouse 2: Last Call
