There's a YT video out there talking about how many of the Best Picture winners are films no one really cares about after a year or two. Ironically he uses this film as his random example. I have laughed so hard both times I've seen it, because I watch this film of a minimum of 1 time a year. It's such a quiet and powerful story that shows that therapy and self-introspection can help anyone, even those who seem like they have a stable family and relatively "good" life. Always impressed when I stumble back to these therapy scenes. Makes me want to sit down again with the film every time easily.
Agree. This film is marvelous and IMO deserves a "re-discovering" . So many blah and downright mediocre movies get trotted out when a 20, 25 or 30yr anniversary milestone is marked, my goodness, even "Grease 2" was heralded with a 40th Anniversary release this year, yet two years ago, "Ordinary People" had it's 40th and there was crickets about it! Just criminal IMHO!
Superb! Acting, writing, directing, etc. It's all truly wonderful.

Some dummy who thinks dark knight rising is the best movie of all time
Yeah, that's how you can tell someone who claims to like movies is a fraud.
This clip should have a lot more views and comments.
