The part about that guy being a tourist in people's lives is so deep and true. Once you hear it, you see it everywhere.
Sometimes that's me, because there are very few people that I met that I actually like enough to have them in my life
Jim O'Heir wrote in his book that Nick Offerman was an actor who was suddenly recast before show pilots were made because casting directors thought he was "too weird." That said, thank goodness Parks kept Nick Offerman. I can't imagine anyone else as Ron Swanson.
Who was originally supposed to be Ron?
@swimfast724 Parks casted Nick Offerman, but in the past, O'Heir wrote that Nick Offerman would get cast for other shows, but when they started shooting and filming, they'd recast him.
@@uncreative5766 I'm not really sure of the point you're making here? Matt Walsh was considered for Ron Swanson at some point, but Nick Offerman was never some "out of left field" or "oddball" casting choice.
@@swimfast724 I can't find anything supporting this claim. Jim O'Heir (Larry) auditioned for Ron Swanson, but "had too much fun" in character that the showrunners "enjoyed [him] so much that they couldnt' see past the humor and laughter".
@@Traddles I think they're saying that in a lot of other roles, they start with Offerman but recast later. Parks was different in that they started with Offerman, but decided to stick with him
I love how they put Ron in here for comedy relief and he somehow consistently makes more sense than the literal protagonist
Ron is a literal parody of libertarian types, in practice his beliefs would lead to major issues...
To be fair, he is the straight man charater
Honestly, every time they fight I can see both sides.
He is literally written to be dumb and paranoid so idiots like you think the ghr best
Can everybody please forget the word "literally"? If I hear it misused one more time, I will figuratively explode. See? If the opposite isn't figuratively something, don't use it. Ron would severely disapprove.
4:28 I promised my girlfriend that I'd make her a wedding ring, I got inspiration from this man. I love Ron
Did you do it, and did she say yes? Can't leave us in suspense like that.
Leaving a reply to see what happens
@@reliantncc1864 only time will tell, we've agreed that once we're in a good financial state
Me too I’m curious
"People that buy things are suckers"
“Don’t confuse drama with happiness” - Ron Swanson
"Ron -kinda- had a point."
Fixed.
How does one do that..? “-K-i-n-d-a-” 😂😂
@moises_2340 You have to put a dash before and after. -kinda- is done with - kinda - without spaces.
Also, why is the title a question? It's a given.
“Are the scissors broken in your home son?” will never not be funny
100% on board with the last part, strippers=boring, Free breakfast buffet that looks that good, winning.
for real, if you have to pay to see naked people, you're doing something wrong.
But I’m betting a real-life free breakfast buffet at a strip joint would be incredibly NASTY
@@matthewharvey3556I’ve heard the opposite
@@matthewharvey3556 it's a case by case basis, a club a friend worked at had the buffet supplied daily from one of the best breakfast places in town.
Everyone needs a Ron Swanson in their lives
The Parks & Rec Channel is slowly becoming the Parks & Ron Channel
Same thing happened to the show.
For a good reason
Ron is, was and always will be the best!
thanks Ron!
Ron being based for 10 minutes and 3 seconds
Mine is 10 mins 4 secs. I must be more based than you
The best
Ron is so wise. His is the wisdom of the lands
9:38 I don't know why, but that plate shake of his kills me no matter how many times i've seen the clip.
"If you don't believe in love, what's the point of living".. when Keanu says it it's something. When Ron the Man Swanson says it.. its nothing?
Imagine this man as the US president.. it would be straight up fun.
Especially meetings with putin.
ron hates the government, even considering a federal job with leslie made him recoil in disgust. i think he'd actively topple down the country as the president lmao
@@randomt800kiddo2 He ended up in the federal government, so I guess anything is possible
@@Bist040 yeah but that was in the national parks, where he was only technically in the federal government, being president is an entirely different ball game
We don't need to imagine, Javier Milei is basically Ron Swanson.
@ Oh definitely. Also, Ron has too many morals
Ron is typically right
This man is almost always right
Ron is literally super creative with his work. He literally creates so many things I don't know about his creative comment.
And that little pastry Ben liked was LITERALLY a small calzone. 😉
Would happily have drinks with Ron
Lagavulin. Clear alcohols are for rich women on diets.
@@reliantncc1864 Always found that a tad bit hypocritical. Ron himself said there's no wrong way to consume alcohol. I'll take my White Russian, the Dude abides.
That pancake flip was majestic.
he was so right about skim milk. it's the worst drink
Much of my philosophies have been inspired by the man Ron Swanson is.
I quote his line about skim milk (which is water that is lying about being milk) all the damn time. Whole milk or GTFO.
That's the sentiment I will agree with most today. I was raised on 2%, but when I reached the age of reason, I started cooking with whole.
anything less than whole milk is disgusting swill
I grew up drinking skim milk because my mother convinced me that the fat was bad for me. I did my own research later that showed the milkfat is negligible to your health compared to skim milk and whole milk tasted so much better
4:59 I use this all the time in executive coaching sessions.
Can you explain what he says? My english are kinda good but i still dont understand it for some reason.
@@georgetheodoratos1397
don't try and do two things at the same time. If you want to do something, give it everything you got. Focus on it until you got it.
3:44 This was one of my absolute favorite jokes in the show
I love how when Chris realizes what's gonna happen, his reaction is comedy gold😂
These clips will go on forever with different titles. Once they are 5,000 in they will make 5,000 more.
"Creativity is for people with glasses who like to lie" he said after making a wedding ring out of a sconce
Leslie was so fricking obnoxious in the first two seasons.
Belay that order Donna!😅
Dana, Donna is the woman in every episode
This video should be the trailer for the entire series. End of speech.
be the Ron, you want to see in the world
WDYM "kinda"?!
he is a manly man, can't admit that manly man are reasonable
Especially that part around 1:27 don’t accept the quick payment just keep doing good work and become bigger than them
I call it the "Ron Bacon Smile"
Ron's a guru. What would he say if you called him that?
huh...forgot he practically described Diane to a T in season 2
There's no way you fit everything Ron gets right in a ten-minute video.
Any dog under 50 pounds is a cat and cats are pointless.
I watch these video a lot, the picture of Leslie that shows at the end is really weird
4:46 But did he get their ring sizes? 😂
Ron Swanson doesn't need to get their ring sizes. He looks and he knows.
he literally admits there's a wrong way to have alcohol after they get served at the bar.
Ron for president. I don't care if he's flawed.
I fell silent!😅
They use the same clips in every video
I think Ron Swanson has done more for libertarianism's image than any real libertarian. It's also funny when he contradicts his own belief in the free market by refusing to buy stuff, preferring to make it himself. Or when he gives people life advice when he's not interested in caring about people. I guess he's just human like that, and they made a very genuine character out of that silly, silent moustachioed man from the pilot season.
Ron *always* had a point
Fixed it
9:08 this is me
Ron sure has some philosophy
If America survives this turmoil, Ron will be it's new bipartisan Jesus
Maybe 10% of the time. Maybe.
Maybe, but it fell flat.
NO!
The Sheryl swopes comment didn’t age well.
Ron is truly the HBIC
Cats are not pointless.
They are almost entirely pointless unless you have small pests in/around your home. I say that as a cat person 🤣
@@WandaMaximoff1998 Yeah... Okay.
@@WandaMaximoff1998 Cats have at least two points... one at the tip of each ear. 😉
@@gregorymoore2877 Bravo 😂 edit: you forgot the tail
Ron kinda had a point, but without the kinda...
🙌 RAVE4LOVE ❤⬛⚪
I hate this video's title because it illustrates how zoomers can't even phrase questions properly.
"Does Ron kind of make good points?" would have been better. Even, "Maybe Ron kinda had some points?"
Slapping a question mark at the end of a statement does not make it a question. English should not continue taking more hits, use it correctly.
I like how Mr. Birchum essentially tried to copy Ron Swanson but failed miserably because one of Ron’s core traits is that he tries to stay out of other people’s business but if they seek his advice he shows them compassion. Absolutely none of that is mirrored in that horrible anti woke show.
I was with Ron until he went negative'o on the cat'o. Sorry Ron, had to deduct you a point.
As a Ron Paul fan I prefer "Ron was Right"
If "I told you so" was a person.
This character has set emotionally stunted men back almost as much as Walter White
Quite the opposite. If you think this then you have not watched this show
Have you seen the show?
people who don't understand ron swanson was written as a monster are like people who think patrick bateman was cool. the only reason ron is likeable is the genius of nick offerman making him so.
@ comparing Ron Swanson to Patrick Bateman is absolutely delusional.
@@johnnyirons69420 there's that emotional stunting talking.
