Thanks for watching, now subscribe ya peasants! 😂 I post a heap of progress shots here as well as Instagram/facebook, so if you don’t sub, you miss out on all the good stuff !
Have you thought of a centre feed plenum with a elbow so you can run a standard pwr water to air intercooler, it’ll push the throttle body back and might give you enough room to run piping to the intercooler
We already have the intake sorted with a Domimator Motorsports forward facing plenum. We really need the area above the intake to be clear to run a twin tube strut brace.
Hate to be the one to take the rocket cover off. As for the torsional Beaming test, They place a 200kg load 2 mtrs out from centre of the chassis, and the pivot point is under the front disc. The fun part is, they ry and do it in the opposite direction...lol. That re twists the chassis back into shape
Can’t wait to see more of this build broomy. Hear you talk about subscribing every week, always thought I was but I just looked and realised I wasn’t. Keep up the great videos brother 👍
Hey broomy good to see another rx4 getting done I got an lsa in my sedan and it was a big 7 year challenge without chopping the car out but all done I cant wait to see how you will finish it off keep it up
Mate, not sure how ive not stumbled across your channel before now. Im an old rotary nut, but drive FG G6ET and enjoy the engine. I know people (myself included) can get a bit sensitive when putting a piston engine in a Mazda, but this tickles my fancy 👍
VCT Solenoids are engine specific late BF and FG have the pull out solenoids, if you want to run them you will have to change the head as they are a different diameter to the BA early BF.
Have you looked at trying out the fg turbo intake over the b series one? It'll allow for a lot more room and still centre exit for more space for the barrel cooler.
I thought this was going to be an engineered street car and now you’re cutting out the firewall, be great for you to tell us a little about what the engineer has said about all the modifications and the process. If I’ve missed something from a previous episode about the build and direction I apologise 🤪
Ive cut out one firewall and will be replacing it with another. Once it goes through the engineering process I’ll be able to discuss it. Engineer is fully aware of what is happening.
@@BroomysGarage yes I thought you said that in the last post on the car, maybe a deep dive on the engineering process would be a good video , especially in this state! When you said a torsion and beam test I straight away thought that the engineer might class the car as a newly constructed chassis. Thanks for the effort with the video’s I certainly enjoy seeing stuff local to me 👍
Loving this build! I’ve been rotary through and through for many years. Owned plenty, still do. But also have appreciation for other engines, Barra is definitely one of them. Seen a few LS converted old Mazdas but never a Barra. Awesome conversion! Being that it’s a 929, the purests can keep quiet. Go the RX4.0 !!
great episode. if you are looking for a forward facing themostat housing eb falcon face forward and they fit the barra engine and Josh Chapman from custom Alloy Welding has lots of options for barra intake mainfolds and are great value. look forward to more episodes.
I was going to say that, then paused and realised UA-cam doesn’t let you swear (even if you beep it) in like the first 45 seconds of a video otherwise it dumps it down the memory hole and won’t show it to anyone lol
Engine will probably only be 1 degree down. If that. Not sure what the factory is, however they run a center bearing 2 piece tailshaft as well which I’ll retain as it just makes it easy with the fixed ZF rear yoke.
An air to air one ? Would need to cut a hole in the bonnet to make it efficient and then will have trouble running the strut brace that is probably going to be mandatory to make sure I pass the torsion test.
I roll my eyes at the small-minded gronks who whine when someone else modifies their own car without seeking the approval of a bunch of strangers. You do you man, this is going to be a super cool build.

If it sits, it fits! 🤣 Nice work Broomy.
Grind ya way in, weld your way out! 👌🏻
Radium make some pretty nice low profile 90 degree fittings if you need them for that pcv port to the catch can mate.
Nice vid !!
That thing is gonna be a Ripper!! Can’t wait to see it all twisted up on launch!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻😍
I like the fact that you just want to experiment with a new to you engine platform, all the best to your new experience!

Yep, no issue with that elusive spark plug hole, you are not the only one to cut an access hole for ease, easy gromet, and all done.
Very interesting conversion. Lots of hurdles to over come!
more room than my boss. You see barra's in everything, but hardly ever the amount of work to fit them, lovin this project Broomy 👍🏼

Holy shit bro, SEMA ready already!! You work fast!

Love the lack of PPE, Safety Third
Lovin this build..
Even though you are predicting a family friendly 400hp this thing will go like a cat on a hot tin roof.
Good advice, if you don’t like it , get your own car build it your way!
Love the channel mate.

Hi Broomy, I just watched your welder video, just wondering how it is going. I am looking to purchase one in the near future.

Nice work, Broomy, it looks good (I'm a 30 years rotary owner).

Love it I'm hooked on this build bro
If you put a set of Iridium plugs in it you should be able to get 20,000 kms out of a set, how many kays are you going to do in this car after all?
have you thought about looking at a territory sump. there a similar shape to the way you cut yours out
Someone else has done this conversion before and used a territory sump. This seems to have worked out well and have plenty of clearance
Loving the raw dog action, keep it up.
Try a territory sump much different it has a pressd metal pan. In front.

We already have the solution to this. Should be in our community tab here, or on our Facebook/Insta page 👍🏻
Excellent work, you really don’t give up!!
Haha MA15+ version @0:27 "Not here to fuck spiders" One of my favourite sayings at work!!! Great work Broomy !!!🍻👍🤣

@@BroomysGarage Explains why I haven’t seen a new recipe from Nat for ages 🤣🍻👍
Pinion angles. I know you are all over it.

Try looking at a top mount style intercooler you my find one narrow enough to fit

Sweet progress.
The mahi god back in action 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
👍

You do you man, this is going to be a super cool build.
How long till someone makes a billet Barra block….🤔🤔🤔
ua-cam.com/video/atqQ3WPMmiQ/v-deo.html
Im quite happy with my water meth and no intercooler ..on the r31 barra. For when space is really to much of a premium
Just Rob dahm it and don't have a firewall or trans tunnel.
She almost cant fit it all !
I really detest how you are making this have big reliable power. and not a rotor. #BARR4
Take a look at the compact size nps Isuzu trucks condenser and fan combos are
Will fit under the front guard lol
