That is the luckiest rusted out 51 Ford, left in the field to die in existence. You gave it a new lease on life and it’s better than ever. I wonder what it’s next 70 years are going to be like?
So far Dad has taken it to a few shows, cruise nights and just plain enjoying it out on the roads. Car is really happy LOL! Thanks so much for watching!
A modern oldie...... Cool I'm glad I watched it from the beginning! Sh... t.. I like so much that side windows they seem one glass! Waiting for your next project.
Need to get the windows tinted for the full effect, but it came out pretty good. Not sure what the next personal build will be but we'll be getting back to the After Burner roadster soon. Thanks for watching!
This car is so cool! Wonderful smooth curves and the lime green metallic paint is optimum! One of the best custom cars I’ve ever seen. So tastefully designed and done; many especially these body swaps aren’t!
Glad you like it John! The colour is a custom paint we mixed up called 'Field of Greens Metallic" as a nod to where we found the '51s shell - a farmer's field. Dad is also colour blind so it works for him :D Thanks for watching!!
What a beautiful build! I especially love the roof line that you modified, the forward peak and rake instead of the original middle point and then the rear window that you laid down a bit really makes a stunning top end. I also love the transition parts that you made from the Infinity to the 41 which makes the magic happen. The lines of the grill whiskers complement the windshield divide nicely too. Well done Nick and I hope that you Dad has loads of fun with it!
Great video ... appreciate the shout-out ... I was ridin right there in shotgun position ... the car turned out perfect ... I'd leave the mirrors just as they are ... as far as heigth I like em low but for a daily it's works ... if you wake up in the morning and say ..."I coulda had a V8" ... just build another one ... great project ... you and your Dad should be proud ... ever think about doing this for a living? ...
Ive watched this episode at least 4 times and it never ceases to amaze me how well everything came together. 2 cars 2 completely different makes ...years...styles and the final product kicks ass! Thank you and your father for sharing.
WOW!!!! is the only word I can come up with on this beauty! YOU did an amazing job!!!!! Did your dad know you were building this for him?? WHAT a good son he has..... keep up the great works of art.........
I don't think so. Didn't have to ask him what he wanted as we went along since we both have similar tastes in cars. He's taught me so much and gone without many times, and never really had the time to do something for himself it's the least I could do. Anyway, he's been having a riot driving this thing around and attending a few local shows/cruise nights. Thanks so much for watching and the thumbs up!
Excellent work Nick, the perfect combination of old and new, it looks stunning - the subtle custom work and paint are spot on. I will look forward to the next project, its a nice change to see car get built and finished to a high standard instead of rough ill conceived fabrication, piles of bog/bondo, a coat of primer then shoved out the back because it would never get approval to be road registered. Cheers Greg
Looks great! I like the green. I’ve been watching the build every week. I’m a perfectionist and it’s hard to watch most hot rod builds, but you always make everything look so precise and nice. A true metal artist. It might look cool with a 51 Infinity logo emblem in the middle of the grille.
Hi Nick this Ford turned out beautiful. I love the look of it, the side profile was much improved. All the luxury of the interior and the factory style fitment of the engine bay and trunk space. It sure is a nice ride. We'll done 👏
I am glad I followed this build start to finish because seeing all the cuts and slices required to achieve the look would be impossible to appreciate by just seeing the finished I 51S. An amazing "50s" custom that belies its modern power, handling and luxury.
Looks great and love the lime green color! Your craftsmanship is orders of magnitude better than other similar swaps I’ve seen on YT which are very crude! I’d prefer a more classic taillight design but oh well.
The most brilliant design, engineering and fabrication work I've ever seen and the end product is........................green. You and your work are amazing! I look forward to what's next!
Congratulations on a beautiful build, so original in design, when you think of all the shoeboxes built through the years this car definitely stands apart.
Honestly not a fan of the grill but then again you did say you weren't finished with it. I am a big fan of the side window treatment. Overall though ...VERY NICE !
I51S And I thought the 51 would've stood for area 51 and the S would've stood for Spaceship. To Infiniti and beyond. LOL I love the whole build and how it turned out. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. You do a fantastic job and God Bless you and your family. 💯👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻🙏🏼
Area 51 Spaceship works!! I like that ! We've got some new things coming, need to get my hammer's and dollies in a row before things get rolling on that - soon! Cheers!!
I look forward to your creative and witty updates on the build every week. Most only dream of doing something this cool, somehow you make it look so easy. Great colour choice, congrats to you and your dad, no doubt he will get much enjoyment from driving the AWD Juice box.
Congrats Nick, excellent result, you guys should enjoy the heck out of this. I think you did a fantastic job with respect to the proportions and made what could be a visually heavy car appear much more athletic. I like the slightly leaned forward suspension stance also. I'm sure you guys are going to do a bit more with it after summer enjoyment on the roads is concluded. The transition along the sides to the more vertical planes of the rear fender fins looks neat. But (and this is my only "but") viewing the rear from the back the visual weight is huge. Perhaps another grey accent line that starts at the side mirrors beginning very thin and gradually widening along the shoulder as it passes the rear glass and follows the valley of the rear fins down and then have both sides bridged with a horizontal stripe that crosses a bit above the exhausts? I don't know maybe I'm wrong but that's what popped into my head. Feel free to ignore the peanut gallery!
Greetings from Sweden. Congratulations to a great build. It's been a joy following you on your journey with this project. From the very first start to a complete, amazing looking vehicle, driving in the streets. Very well done, guys.
Well man I didn't mean to express the car as a fart. But there it is. Thank you for posting this link from your other video. The sled really turned out nicely. It should really gleam with the right detail. Good lines. Nicely done🖒
No worries Keith, I know what you meant 👍😊 Over the winter we're going to blow it apart and finish off a few things. Keep an eye out for more videos on this one.
great job nick,i'v been building custom cars all my life and to watch builders with the skill that your father and you have is a pleasure,it's not easy to do what you two did with this car as i did a 61 tbird convt over a 96 lincoln mk eight and the engineering involved in making every thing work at times is overwelming, great job but i think the mirrors should be green and a more period correct wheel would probably look a little better.regards
Overwhelming is an understatement! Some fail to realize how much planning and work goes into something like this. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching the build! 👍
Congratulations Nick. It looks incredible. I know that you have the ' little' finishes to get to but it is an absolute credit to you. That interior and under hood contradiction demonstrate your skills and imagination perfectly. This is going to be a top quality build for sure and you should all be very proud of the outcome. Love it all, Joe
Nick, Dad + Team. what a great job. design, fabrication, finish and completion; always a real challenge. thank you so much for all the Hard Work and Great Video Content. go and enjoy!!! very best to you and yours. walt+mrs.
I have a welder, a perfect running cadillac CTS sitting in my yard, and a '67 skylark with a bad frame and floors...... lol Loved this video series, I've been watching it while having lunch for the last months while I was working on a '69 sport satellite.... but what you were doing looks like much more fun Lol
I followed the build since the start..I was a little surprised to see this video. You build your self a nice ride. You and your Dad are talented guys.. Looking forward to the next.. good luck. Keep making the videos. Thanks..
It’s amazing how good you are at metal work!! I rebuilding a 64 ford f100 that I hope to use a lot of what you’ve shown in the build! Keep up the awesome work!
Actually I gave you 3 thumbs up. One for you, one for your dad and one for your channel. Thanks Nick. Looking forward to whatever comes next @@iNVisionPrototypes
I was hoping to see how the headlights were mounted in the fenders and a few more details on those "off the chain" tail lights were sourced and installed . perhaps in a future video?

thanks for bringing all of us along on this build Nick. you and your dad have done a fantastic job. the car looks great. a wonderful showcase for Invision Prototypes.
I like it. Even the rear brake light everyone seams to be upset about. Only thing i would do for my personal taste i think the old body style might look better with old wheel style like some dog dishes and black rims maybe? Not sayen ones on there are bad by any means, just wondering what old look rims might look like.
Hi I just found your channel and subscribed awesome customizing I'm watching bad chad do a shoe box chop but I like yours better it looks right on the body but both are cool
What a great build I watched all the way on this one and the other one...I don't care for color or red led thing....otherwise outstanding ...my opinion
Nice!!! As I said on the short. That is so Sick!!! I would love to see how your dad did the drip rails. My 50 was only marginally better, and that was it was complete. LOL!! Great vid looking to the next build!!
This is truly a work of art!! what an accomplishment ! great color choice also . Beautiful car!! Turned out fantastic!! One question tho, how do you access the back seat? I am just a little over halfway through the video, maybe you say that. Great job!!
Congrats to you Nick! And to your dad! You’ve been busy, nice paint and great to see it on the road putting a smile on your face!! One question, did you paint it yourself?
Beautiful Nick! Glad for you to see it finished for us to I guess. I really wanted more of this fantastic build. Just wondering if you have more you could slip in like how you managed the rear strip lighting. The window finishing would be most enjoyable too, as I am going to rake my A pillars back after seeing how you accomplished this along with the glass center strip delete. The rear window ruber and side glass. What is the wiper mechanism you have used. I have been looking at early Bronco , I have a 12 volt bug on my bench now. It reminds me of yours from the outside. The list of questions is large. Please 🙏 can we have more.
Hi Paul! To meet our deadline I wasn't able to find the time to film those final assembly details. It was honestly a mad dash to the finish. Saying that, when I get a moment I'll see what I can do about another video going over those items specifically. To answer some of your questions now, for the front glass centre strip delete I used structural grade silicone(the stuff used to glue aquariums together). Regular bathtub silicone won't cut it. Rear window molding is a stock replacement with no provision for trim. And, the wipers are driven by the original INFINITI motor relocated to work with a modified mechanism we had laying the shelf. Not sure what it came from. Thanks so much for watching!!
Awesome accomplishment! If you have a chance I would greatly appreciate your thoughts. If you were to do some kind of replica of the james bond Aston Martin DB5 in either steel or aluminum, exterior only, what kind of donor car would you start with? I have a pretty good set of tools for metal work, not as good as yours but functional. Thinking ahead after I get done with current project. Thank you.
Thanks man! For a DB5 replica donor I would start with Google as it would be your best resource in researching determining factors for finding a vehicle that fits the requirements. When it comes to tools, work with what you have. You may need to get creative at times at finding a way that will facilitate fabrication, but at the end of the day one doesn't need a shop full of tools to get the job done. Thank again for watching!
