- This is the Molly60 by nlandkeys and was sent over to me by the awesome folks at Mechland. I got this project in and was like, oh this is neat, it'll probably sound and feel like most other cheaper kits. But I was impressed, it's a surprisingly soft typing experience and the kicker? It sounds AMAZING. With no foam this thing punches WAY above it's price point. You can add a brass wait for an addition 30 dollars but you may not even need it!
Impressive.

It's nice to see these designers and manufacturers push the barrier of entry for this hobby way downwards now. This and the upcoming MKC75, which also starts at $99, are the highlights of the year... at least from a pricing standpoint. Would love to see more offerings around this price range in the future.
crazy to see that a guy with content as good as yours is just now going full time
you deserve this
keep at it
Your videos are amazing dude, glad you get to go full-time. Wish you all the success!
Glad you like them! And thank you a ton!
i accidentily started this video again during a house mix and the intro line made a pretty dope sample to the rhythm
such a banger for the price and color options and no flex cuts on pcb is chefs kiss. buying this for my wife as her first board. W review too
W husband
Had no idea this existed. Buying one for sure! Great video, bro!
really jealous of anyone getting into the hobby this year
right?? I was thinking dang, I wish I could get another aluminum bakeneko60 case for this price, $99 for a two piece case, plate, and PCB is nuts!
Also everyone is selling stuff for a loss
@@lawrencetchen What makes you say that? I'm not close with the vendors or manufacturers, so there could be something I'm missing here, but unless they have a clear path to profit from other products that follows from these GBs / sales, I'm not really sure why they'd be willing to sell individual boards at a loss.
@@ImOnMy116 pretty sure this is about the 2nd handmarket on mechmarket you can get boards like the portal which retail above 300 for 180
true holy crap lol
It looks so nice
sounds super nice
I cackled so bad when I saw how thick that case foam is. LMAO
Although honestly, this thing is absolute BONKERS for its price; good value pricing. Hoping that products like these will entice more people into the hobby
After watching your video I ordered the deep blue hhkb with ss pvd weight, fr4 plate, and an extra aluminium plate. It looks amazing for the price, and it sounded pretty good to me in the video. Can't wait to play with this. And thanks for yet another very helpful videos Alex. Love your work.
how is it??
@creationfied I haven't received it yet - still waiting.
same bro also do yk if screw in stabs would work??@@cowboysmall
This hobbie is getting lovely
Especially with how many 100-150 price range boards. It's crazy
The Molly sorta reminds me of the Simpler60, was also a very similar keyboard price wise and sound wise.
Rama Works could never.
they need to release more protos and pics of the board
Really nice vid! Did you remove only the bottom gasket of the spacebar or both?
many color options as well
Already got the edit out SHEESH
Manoli working HARD.
Would love it if you did more legit budget options. Love all your content, but do these for the broke among us!
I'm so sad I missed the group buy!!!
f I order the HHKB case option would the PCB come with the split hotswap sockets for backspace and left shift or do I have to mod it myself to become split.
I found it on the mechland internal products with no picture or description. Should I pull the trigger or wait for the product page to update lol
Have you tried the monsgeek m1? It could be a decent contender with this keboard.
"sounds like Mr Krabs walking around " lmao low key haha
what you guy think between this molly60 vs qk60 which is better i know that qk have anode, but i want to hear about typing feel and sound,
thanks for the vid!
qk finally got some competition for the title of good quality budget boards. 1.6mm pcb, no flex cuts, with options to solder additional hot swap socket for split keys.
personally, i still give the title to qk since they're not afraid to innovate board designs between releases and have insanely fast fulfillment times after gb ends. hope the gb for this board goes well to those interested.
qk is coming out w something called the Neo65 and a neo frl tkl, the 65 is starting at 100 and it looks crazy value for what it is and I am so excited for it
@@gamingsoups iirc those are collab builds where qk does manufacturing while the design and such come from the comaony they work with. correct me if im wrong it's been I while since I've heard that info
@@recon12803 yeah qk is just manufacturing and distributing, all of the info on it is coming out on their server tho
I keep trying to find out if the HHKB layout has split backspace on the hotswap but doesn't look like it based on the video?
the MDMA60, available from all your local alleyway vendors XD
Is it possible to know what type of daughterboard it is? Will any bakeneko pcb (h60, etc) work with this keyboard, of course without the left usb c connector on them?
i see you used cherry clip ins for this build but am i able to use screw in stabs on this pcb?!?
Just got my Molly 60 and I’m not sure abt where the stabs are supposed to for the backspace if I want a backspace
After watching this video, I finally decided to remove the gasket below my spacebar and holy shit it sounds good. Almost at kohaku level.
If you are curious, it is a ginkgo65
(not pro :( sad)
with cherry top, opblack bottom, and cow pom stem with pom plate, tape over flex cut, case foam, force break, and a strip of electrical tape under the missing gasket to dampen contact between the plate and case. Right after typing the sentence above, my spacebar started ticking lol. Time to retune it. I swear I didn't just type an essay.
@@AIizs_cool
Really bummed I just learned about this board :( Anyone have any recommendations for an HHKB layout keyboard? Currently the ones I'm familiar with are the Tofu60, Tokyo60, Q60
Is this light pink or paris pink?
Hey, where did you get the different buttons for your mx master mouse? It looks sick and I want to customize mine as well!
probably self modded or custom made. i think u can do it by taking apart the mouse, sanding off the top finish and then spray painting, sanding and spraying a top coat
Where did Alex get his custom mx master 3
so sad to find out that they don’t ship to my country, this board sounds and looks so amazing
They are a few vendors that will carry this! Check their proxy list!
@@alexotos oooo that's cool!! will certainlly do that
Does it have qmk/via support?
I don't have a 60% yet and it's . . . $99? They've forced my hand.
I am in disbelief! The keyboard hobby is going at such a rate where newcomers can try the hobby for such a low price.
woah
What is the olive green 65% keyboard that is usually on Alextos table?
The one specifically in this video is the Mode Envoy in collaboration with Alex, it's a custom colorway that is tentatively scheduled for release in mid August. It's a "stone" color case with bright orange accent and weight. In this video it has GMK Kaiju on.
This or Mode Envoy?
If it were a 75% or TKL I'd be looking to pick one up for sure.
Well, this got uploaded fast. I saw a bit of this yesterday.
do you take out both gaskets on the spacebar or the one on the bottom?
I'm curious about the colour you got, is it the "Light Pink" or "Paris Pink", as I am thinking of picking this up in one of the two but the product images for the colour isn't very informative :P
Paris Pink
@@aregs3854 thanks
SHEEEEEESH
2u backspace D:
acrylic and PC are basically the same.
anyone noticed that he had his shirt inside out?
Happens often I’m not good with my clothes LOL
@@alexotos as long as you're good at taking it off *wink*
Only weird thing is not having that control key in a normal spot.
thats just the design of the layout; this is a hhkb layout
if you're looking for the ctrl key in the normal spot but still missing a key then you're thinking of wkl layout
it's actually located in the most convenient and ergonomical possible spot, so you can hit it with your pinky without leaving home row with the rest of your left fingers.
@@foggytypesoh that makes a lot of sense. Just so used to where it’s been!
@@blasstois took me a while to get used to but it improved my productivity by miles. I use a specific QMK code so that it works as control when held and capslock when tapped, best of both worlds
looks nice but i wish it was a 75% not a 60%
nah hhkb superior layout
@@foggytypes maybe for people who don't actually use their keyboards lol
@@haroldallaberg6359 bs, I work with a hhkb. learn layers, get good.
@@haroldallaberg6359then you will change your mind when seeing people working with a split 40% keyboard
it's not 99 it's 124 + shipping + tax. Don't pay for the brass / ss weight. It is tiny.
keycult/derivative at home.
EU vendor?
dude shipping is 18-ish dollars... who needs an EU vendor with its middle man tax.
@@foggytypes because I don't wanna pay extra fees and taxes?
@@szagii_9447 never paid anything extra from china unless shipped with fedex... and judging by the shipping cost this is absolutely not the case
@@szagii_9447 fyi you HAVE to pay taxes on importation, normally. having an EU vendor doesn't mean you skip taxes, they will just include them in the board price.
spending 100$ on a keyboard... no shot you guys are serious
I spent 400 on my keyboard, its called a hobby.
@@sumkid9263 and I think it’s a waste of money. Do whatever you want brother
@@JonCarlo_being on youtube is a waste of time and time is money 🧠
If that's your honest reaction... I don't think this channel will suit you. It's a hobby
