- After three years of learning, growing, and listening closely to the voices of our community, we find ourselves ready to bring back one of our most popular keyboards ever, the SixtyFive. Today we're going to walk you through all the updates we've made to the SixtyFive and why it's one of our best boards yet.

What I love about this is not waiting for a year etc. thank you.loving it and will be getting me a few extras to play with combos! Also extras for my envoy in case for back up and mixing.
Appreciate you guys going from only one sound test with PE foam for the Loop to having a buttload of sound tests with a bunch of different configs for the 65! Keep it up mode :- )

You guys are impressive. I love my Envoy. The new SixyFive looks amazing.
Only 3 things I would change in this almost perfect board for it to be my dream board:
1. That we could see the bottom weight in a similar fashion as we can in the gorgeous Sonnet (I love that curve in copper!)
2. It was available in Europe
3. We could have it in a 65 XT format for some additional keys
Keep doing what you're doing Mode, you're absolutely killing it!

Id love so see this in a 60% form factor. The Tempo was cool but the strict adherence to HHKB blockers was a deal breaker for me

you can make a yin yang circle on the bottom
maybe using a transparent black piece with a white transparent half on top
also for future iteration you might be able to add a wider back with the option to mount a knob, either on the left or the right, or simply using this version here so you can still use it.
maybe a knob on the left and and a mini display with the time or temps
2:13 Osume's keycaps just look so good. Hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on a SixtyFive one day to put them on.
9:22 I think it'll be interesting to see how much the 2-piece case design affects the underglow for full PC builds vs the PC Envoy. I would imagine the two frosted surfaces contacting eachother cause the light to propogate less than a unibody design.

Hopefully solder pcb with more r5 options would be nice. I held off on the v1 mode65 for that reason

omg i didn't realize you are from mode designs, i knew you as itsxris from the coffee channel only, these 2 hobbies definitely overlap! haha
love the board wish the magnetic accent was bigger tho or ran down to the bottom of the board. Likely will still be picking one up regardless. Looking at the protagonist too atm so we shall see.

Can we have some non-flex cut solder PCB please... The shock is a bit too big when typing on alphas without foams. Typed this on my OLD SixtyFive
Both solder and hotswap PCBs have no flex cuts

The redesign looks incredible. No compromises there as usual. Wondering if you have been able to create more flex than the original 65 from the lattice blocks? I found the original too stiff but maybe that was just the brass version? Thank you folks

@@mattdemoraes You can also try removing the middle top mount plate screws, I often run my original sixtyfive with just the outer 4 plate screws in isolated top mount configuration and its very bouncy. Highly recommend!
What keycaps are those on the 2021 Mode 65 in the beginning? They look kinda like an pbtfans or epbt wob set?

I’m all for more 65’s but as an envoy owner it doesn’t make sense to buy another Mode 65 layout unless the mounting system was completely different (ie o-ring)

Ugh. I love the PC board but why is the bottom glow so dim toward the bottom of the board. I wish the led could be moved more toward the bottom

that would be sick I loved the magnetic mechanism in the neo70. But it ís too late the design is finalized.

It is a beautiful board but please do improve the QC on the lattice mounts because they were awful to work with on the Envoy.
Their just 3D printed TPU essentially and therefore will never be that great compared to an injection molded part. They can put fancy marketing names on it all they want but the company that makes them has all the info right on their website.

No ISO Hotswap - historically ISO hotswap accounted for less than 1% of all PCBs purchased. ISO layout is available for solder PCBs.

As an owner of the first Mode65, kinda sad you did not consider designing the board having reusable components for old owners. Like if I bought the bottom that comes with the lattice mount id be able to save a couple of dollars but I get it you're targeting new customers. However most people that are still within the hobby and stay past the post pandemic are still old timers.
