Great video, just replaced my front right wheel bearing on my VZ today using your instructions. The bolts on the actual bearing hub were a bugger to get off!! but was expected as per video. Keep up the good work - 🍺cheers

For everyone thats asking the rears are nothing like the front i would recommend you get a shop to do it mine were impossible to get out had to take the hole control arm off and press them out it was not fun at all on a hoist may be a touch bit easier.

So much simpler than i thought it would be, think my bearings are screwed. Driving down the highway at 100ks heaps of play in the steering and wobbles like mad. Already had a alignment and balance done

Just did a 2010 Ve sports wagon and was the same setup as you mentioned tho my wheel nuts and hub were way overdone from the rattler it gave me hell but after 200k Klms she’s all new again very well worth getting parts online too I paid $1800 saved $1K from the super cheaps.

@@downtheshedwithbyron Yeah, well did it today, no problems, except used a brand new ebay supplied bearings and when test drove, was much worse than the original, sounded like it was about to come apart, and clearly felt through the steering wheel.
Lucky enough, I had the other side changed by mistake, so that bearing should be ok, even if used, so I did it again, test drove, all ok.
Your instructions were spot on and the 2nd time I had to do it, it took half the time.
Next will be the brakes, that set up looks easier than with my motorbikes and this job gives me the confidence to do that when the time comes.

Yep you need a 36mm socket for the drive shaft and i undone the hub from the strut to get the shaft out also remember to remove the abs sensor before you drop the hub down

Question here,
Had a rwc done on my vs wagon an mechanic has stated it needs wheel bearings repacked when he is only changing the rotors. Am I just better off changing the the hubs myself an save the 300$ he was charging me?
Mate if the mechanic already has it apart get them to do it at the same time
@@downtheshedwithbyron I just took it in for a rwc check as I got the wagon for $400 400km on the clock.
I've already been doing the work on the rwc check myself as I wasn't paying 3k for front end bush kit,strut mounts,rotors an engine mounts. I wanted to know if I should just put new wheel hubs on instead of having the stock bearing repacked.
