Thank you, this video was a lifesaver! Read instruction manual inside and out several times and it does not show how to take the loose handle off for tightening. Felt for a set screw, tried gently pulling off, and finally went to internet! Jumped up and tried your fix while you were still talking and it worked. Now I am including these instructions in my manual for hopefully no future use. Your right, simple fix, but I still would not attempt brain surgery!

OMG, I've had this problem for a DECADE & have asked pros, plummers, big box salesmen, & friends, to no avail! Thanks so much for the solution!! Bravo!
TIP: my bases were too tight & couldn't be loosened from below, so I slipped a piece of rubber bicycle innertube over the base & safely applied a wrench.

Thank you for posting this video. I like many others was attempting to remove the caps off the top of the handles. I had a plumber install this particular faucet in my master bathroom and never had the need yet to tighten the handles until now. Thank you so much for the hint. I have been fooling around for long time to figure out how to dismantle the handle of this faucet to no avail. I had to buy a new one and install it, but kept the old one to repair at one point eventually so that I can use it to replace others that may go bad in the future. Today, after watching your video I was able to open it up and repair it by cleaning the interior and replacing all the o-rings. It became new again and saved me a hundred dollars. Thank you again!

Thank you so much for posting this. I was just a second away from ruining the handle by attempting to remove the "fake" screw button cap with a knife! Even Moen's website isn't clear on how the handle is attached - the exploded diagram doesn't even show a screw in there! Good thing I thought to look it up on UA-cam before potentially destroying something. Thanks again!

Love the video and I was literally on the phone with a contractor who wanted to charge me for just coming out two days before thanksgiving... I am truly grateful to you for this video. Perfect Lester.
Thank you for taking the time to figure it out AND post the solution.
In my case the base did not unscrew. This is because the plumber/installer had been very enthusiastic in clamping the fixture to the counter top. A little loosening from below and it was just as you described in your video.
    Thanks again for posting.

Wow. I’ve had a leaky faucet for a while. I turned off the water underneath until I could figure out issue. Today while under lock down, thought I’d look at UA-cam to see how it could be fixed by me. A plumber would be minimum $150 house call. Your video was the first I looked at and it seemed like my issue. One handle had too much give. The Kohler handle simply had the Phillips screw on top. Tightened it and checked other. Turned water back on and viola! Thank you for your video!

Thank you! Mine was a simple need to tighten the handle. I would have otherwise tried to pry cap off of top. No idea that lefty loosey on handle was the way to disassemble it. I would have marred up surface. Thank you for taking time to make this video.

Thanks. I just had a plumber here for other work, and he did the same. Many faucets are similarly designed. Also, he mentioned that Moen has a repair kit that deals with the same issue if it cannot be fixed as pointed out in this video. I suppose if it is worn past a certain point, the repair kit is the way to go.

Thanks so much for figuring out this problem. I also have a Moen Brantford for the bathroom sink and the handle was very loose. No instructions as it was assembled by our contractor who remodeled our bathroom a few years ago. We are a tightened now.

+cog3164 sounds great; I'm just glad it was able to help somebody. I really scratched my head for a while and tried hard to pry the top of the levers off to no luck. heck, I put it on YT as much to remind me should I need to do it again! ;-)

You are a life saver...Think how much $$ to call a plumber to fix this loose handle...I thought for sure what you had initially thought. Thanks for showing me the "easy peasy" way.

Thank you for the post! I have a different faucet but the principal was the same... took me longer to find a magnetic pickup tool... after watching this video.

Just like you, thought a Phillips or Allen wrench would fix it. 5 min of model # research and specific issue repair, and I land on your vid. 👌 🙏. You are the man. 👍

I was about to try to chisel off that stupid cap. Thanks for the video. I’ve never commented on a You Tube video before but this was a huge help. Thanks!

All the other videos I saw said to tighten the hidden screw. I couldn't find the hidden screw. You are awesome, this video is awesome, and I'm glad I'm not crazy. There was no hidden screw. :)

You don't know how long I tried to pry up that "cap" that wasn't a cap which was covering that "hidden screw". ;-)
