I watched a bunch of UA-cams on how to repair my Moen faucet handle. This one did the trick for me, particularly how to remove handle component from sink. Thank you!
I know this was posted a while back, but I wanted to say thank you. This exact video helped me resolved my stuck Moen faucet. My issue was slightly different, where the handle was stuck with the turning part, so it wouldn’t move since turning on the water meant tightening the bottom more than it allowed. I used this video, your linked tool, and a lot of WD40 to loosen the calcium deposit, and was finally able to disassemble the faucet handle, clean the calcium deposit, and applied faucet silicone. It is now all smooth again. 😊
This video was exactly what I needed. I order the tool online and got started. One of the handles was so bad it was completely "frozen". So, that took a lot of effort to keep the handle from turning with the lower part. After that I used vinegar to dissolve the calcium. Using Silicon Lube completed the task. They work perfectly now. Thanks so much!
@@CarsandCodingWhen you guys say "eventually", are we talking 15 years from use or much, much sooner (ie: within a year or two)? I'm talking about using petroleum on plastic parts that are in very good shape. And what about WD40? Would that work as an alternative? Thank you in advance for any response.
@@Red-mp3to WD40 is not a lubricant. WD means water-displacing. You need to use a silicone-based lubricant like noted above. You'll be able to find it at your local hardware store.
Thank you very much for posting this video. The only thing that went wrong is that I could not pop out the plastic part as you did with a wrench. In the end, I got that part to turn freely by immersing it for an hour in a 50% solution of citric acid so as to dissolve the mineral salts. Then I rinsed it and dried it. For the lubrication I had to push some silicon grease using a toothpick. But in the end it worked out just fine. Handles are now turning smoothly. Thanks again, you gave me the trick I didn't know about: the rubber strap wrench.
Thank you for making this video. This was the exact issue I am having with all my faucets in all washrooms, which are all the same. Will give this a try and see if this resolves it. TY!
Thanks man this really helped me out but I used coconut oil instead of Vaseline I didn't have any Vaseline laying around works a hundred percent better now
I was cringing all through this video. You did so much of the work over the sink, including fumbling with the screw. I learned long ago to take that finer work away from the drain. I admire a man that had such wonderful help though.
Legend, my Eva has been so dang frustrating. THIS was the fix!

Silicone lube like syl-glide brake grease is perfect for this! I will use that next time! Thanks for commenting!
My 5 yo was complaining how difficult it was to turn the water one. This was great help, thanks.
This was very helpful.
Thank you.
Petroleum based lube will eventually break the plastic parts. You should use silicone based lube.
I agree with you, I will use silicone next time

@@Red-mp3to so far no issues!

Followed exactly what you did and it worked. Thank you.
Can you put a video for uninstall this faucet completely?
You are awesome! Thanks so much for posting this. Absolutely fixed my faucet!
This worked! The only thing I would add is that one could use vinegar to get rid of the "crust" easier.
Thank you for sharing. Very helpful.

What’s the name of that tool you used to loosen the handle?
It's a strap wrench. You can find them in automotive section.
Thank you for sharing 😊
I have the same faucet, low water pressure, does it have a removable aerator?I can’t seem to get mine unscrewed
Yes! In fact, here is a video to replace the aerator with a high flow option: ua-cam.com/video/PxZ6KAVy9w0/v-deo.html
Thank you!
Whats the name of this faucet
I have been looking for this fix for awhile. I figured it was a bad cartridge.
It was still under warranty so the whole unit was replaced.
Should not use Vaseline, should use plumber grease

"easy fix, for free." If you happen to have a plumbing specialty tool just lying around your house. 😮
Hello, can I get you email? I wanna see if we could have a collaboration.
