When my brother listened to me and bought focal components with crossovers he was so amazed ! And honestly so was I lol! When he passed away I remember being so mad that the place he rented from had his car with them in it towed away since he passed away and none of us. Oils find out what company towed his car out of the lot ! He got them on a trade in the box brand new . Mann !
I have the meso 3 ways on the way right now. I already know theyre not as good as the flax but this is a 400$ canadian set of speakers vs a 1200$ canadian set of speakers. The flax 3 way are the whole reason i even wanted a 3 way but for initial start up, im putting the majority of my money in supporting equipment. I can upgrade the speakers down the road quite easily if i have an existing 3 way front stage. No need to redo pillars and everything to upgrade
I did the same thing... I knew I wanted the Flax or Kx3's... but couldn't afford them so I got the CT Sounds.. had a few issues with the crossovers breaking that I had to solder and fix... then still bought the Flax. LOVE the flax... the video doesn't do them justice
Darn. This would be a good comparison if the Focals are installed properly and using the correct crossovers and filtering. Can’t do a comparison like this. Focal speakers aren’t a type of speaker you can just hook up and throw in anyway see fit. They are SQ staging speakers, where the CT Sounds Meso 3way are made to just be loud.
@@BericBuilds I hear you. Thing is you’ll get people who won’t understand that you have to use the Focal crossover with their speakers, and the CT Sounds crossovers for their speakers for the full potential, or go Active. Passive crossovers don’t work the same with all speakers and could damage your current speakers or crossovers themselves, or worse, cut off speaker’s potential when testing, if their is no understanding of how crossovers work. (Which could be why the tweeter of the Focal seemed low and the mid on the CT Sounds seemed low) Just a door for the speaker trash talkers to come out to talk crap. If anything, I’d plan a retest just in case…. Doug did the Stratos 2 way components in his F-150 on an Audison Processor years ago, and they sounded super. I had the luxury of tuning a VX1000/5i with the Flax 3 way in an F-150. You’ll for sure like the Flax big time once you dial them in. Good stuff though. I hope to get my set in my Subaru soon.
I did it to hear the difference in tonality between the two sets of drivers with the EXACT signal. Flying out tomorrow. When I get back I have a few different tests in mind.
I am not looking for loud. I'm looking for SQ. Focal is SQ, CT is decent mid level stuff. They're about the same RMS.. but the focals are in a completely different league than the CT sounds. I lean to SQ but still a basshead. I like quality highs to be the focal point and the subwoofer to be icing. @luminous
Hey man that's where I was too! I was working at a shop that sold focal but still had the CT in my car. Don't make audio a priority... let it come naturally and before you know it, you'll be jamming on some focal! I definitely won't be making audio my priority anymore... I did it too much while I was at an audio shop. Too much temptation to upgrade and try new stuff
Got my 04' Passat 1.8T Wagon. Planning on getting CT Sounds Meso components 2 pairs which replaces the original components with my battery isolator & yellow optima which powers the components with my Orion XTR 750.4. As for sub I have my CT 1000.1D wired @1ohm stable to a Tropo 10inch in 3/4" sealed recommended size internally. I will eventually pick up a couple 12inch XL Tropos with 32hz vented enclosure but I want to replace the components as I'm ultimately a SQL guy... Appreciate the comparison.
@BericBuilds I'm very pleased so far with it. Not a fan of pushing the 10 to the max but it sounds great till I get two Tropo XL 4ohm DVC 12s in a vented 32hz box that I can also wire down to 1 ohm stable. The components need 2 be upgraded first though. 😏
Now let's talk about the price, there are those who continue to choose focal; focal is good, but very expensive… meso is still a good alternative between quality and price
CT is budget. and decent for the cost, so far as i've seen. FOCAL however makes Audiophile quality, on the higher end comps. those can run upwards of $1500 tho. those old euro series focals (with the yellow cone) were insanely good.
I get the Focals are better, love focal. But would you say the CT Sounds are good speakers? Do they sound good but just “not as good” as those focals or is the SQ bad? For the money I’d like to try them if they’re remotely good speakers
The CT sounds are great budget speakers for someone just getting into the hobby, the thing I didn't like, was having to solder and repair the crossovers myself after owning and using them for 3-4 months. But after that they were good, and still work and sitting on my bench
You mean you like your phone speakers. Thats what you are listening too. You can’t judge by phone speakers. They can’t play the sounds by Focal. Sorry.
I like the CT Sounds better! I like a bright tweeter. The Focal sounds super flat to me. I know some people like that sound but I’m not a fan. I adjust my EQ by ear and stick within the frequency range of the speakers. I listen to it like I like to hear it, not how the “experts” say it’s supposed to sound. I wouldn’t spend that much money on the Focal. If I was going with that price range Alpine Resolution and HDZ blows those away!!
@@BericBuilds I’ve heard them! You know not everyone hears the same! I know what my brain and ears like to hear. I don’t need an “expert” to tell me. If cheap tweeters sound better than Focal so be it. I don’t get paid by Focal to agree with everyone how great they sound. I’d get high end alpine, morel, hertz, ct sounds, nvx all over Focal!! JBL Stadium Club sounds better to me!!
The focals retail at $1000. The CT's I think were $250 I think at the time. I got the Focals new for dealer cost from working at shop which made them much more worth it to me. I couldn't afford 1k on speakers right now
how does the mid-bass sound on the meso? does it give a nice tight kick? does it have a warm tone down low? does it provide a decent hand off to the mids? I need to know more about these speakers because judging by the price it seems too good to be true? how much power are you pushing to the 3way crossover? I have so many questions!!
I know. I've installed 12-15 sets of components. Both 3 way and 2 way. Absolutely love them. When I have money I may put the flax in a set of custom bookshelves and run the k2 3way
I agree. If people would spend a little more on their equipment and buy quality... they wouldn't have to be rebuilding and replacing their system every year
The passenger side is CT. For the phone mic you like the CT, but in real life the focal is 100X better. I own both still currently. Both sets. Thanks. :]
@BericBuilds oh I don't have a doubt in my mind that the focal sound better and for 500-900 more they should sound better lol. You can turn the treble down on the ct sound set though and make them sound 100% better than the video made them sound though. The tweeters were SCREAMING lol. If you toned them down they would sound much better. I mean maybe that's showing that the focal crossovers are blocking way more hz than the ct crossovers ? But I have heard both as well tuned in all different ways and I have to say for the money the ct really do sound great. Of course if money was not involved of course I would go focal every time butttttt they are expensive haha 😆 😂
@BericBuilds in the video the voice talks about focal while listening to ct sound so that was the only reason I stated what I did. Lol. Bad timing with talking about the focal sound quality should have waited until the focal was actually being video recorded 🙃
Focal for the win
I use to have 6 12’s in the hatchback custom doors etc. now I have one single 10 with alpine type x’s for the doors. Being loud just gets old fast
I'm running 3 sets in my accord lol,
All active AudioControl dsp crossover & 18 channels from rockford amps.
I’ve had and heard a lot of speakers. Focal K2 sound the best.
@ryanb8736 I liked the flax 3 way because of the ability to dsp 6 channels per set and have a greater separation and clarity.
Focal is not just loud is also produces the best quality sounds ..

Before watching i already know the focals are better, but the price difference.
I literally just dropped 250.00 on the meso 6. 5 midrange set. I mean you just can't beat that type of sound for the money

I wanted the same exact signal. And I just DID it. My doors are deadened and I don't have time to remove. Flight to catch!

those ct arent made to be loud. Thats what midrange speakers are for. Component sets are rarely genuinely loud at all

Thank you for commenting to man! No shame in CT sounds. I rocked them for a WHILE. Good bang for buck
What ct speakers and amp u recomend for a 2022 telluride lx. Non harmon kardon @BericBuilds
@fernandoHernandez-tl3bo I would recommend the Focal Slate fiber components and a JL vxi DSP amp!
Ct sounds was on the right side and sounded tinny but he could turn treble down and fix that. But we all know focal is a higher quality speaker

Focals are 4 times the price. Might be able to get the CTs to sound better running active but there's no doubt which one sounds better.
I like the CT 🤷🏾♂️
If you just want bright then CT... if you want accuracy and balance I am enjoying the focals wayyyy more
Now let's talk about the price, there are those who continue to choose focal; focal is good, but very expensive… meso is still a good alternative between quality and price

Yep the k2 kx2 is phenomenal
yup the k2x3 that he has is 1800
Focal champion du monde en hi-fi automobile pendant des années ne pas oublier 😊😊😊
Decades. Not years. 😂

I have the 3 way focal flax brand new sitting on my closet for 3 years brand new I’m thinking to install them or selling them for $800
I like the set up on the right a lot more. Is that the CT Sounds?
CT is right side
You mean you like your phone speakers. Thats what you are listening too. You can’t judge by phone speakers. They can’t play the sounds by Focal. Sorry.
I dunno. Those CT sound better to me, but I hate bright highs. I usually set my treble into the negatives when playing music high.
Focal for natural sound, but CT if you want to represent your neighborhood 😅
😊

Focal definitely isn't flat. I'd recommend listening to them in person. If all your looking for is bright, then buy a regular set of cheap tweeters.
@@BericBuilds I’ve heard them! You know not everyone hears the same! I know what my brain and ears like to hear. I don’t need an “expert” to tell me. Roughly 90 watts rms, for the price they are definitely good, I'm driving so I'll try to respond again in a few hours when I make it to my next site
Wait till you go to K2. Whole new sounds of music.

No question about it.
Which is on the right?
CT is right. Much brighter tweeter. The focal is more subdued and accurate.
Anyone do install in the Carolina’s? Wanna get a 2 amp install with sub and 3 way components for the front
I'm out in California right now, there might be someone in the comments that is out that way though.
Focal sounds so much better. The CT sounds echoey
I agree. If people would spend a little more on their equipment and buy quality... they wouldn't have to be rebuilding and replacing their system every year
Ct won’t be taken over by bass
Like the focal?
But yea focal = quality
The focal flax have much better low end than the CT sounds. Flax 6.5 mid is one of my absolute favorite speakers
Nope using a pair of studio grade jbl headphones and the right side sounded better to me. Dont like super bright tweets
All these comparisons people make and the speakers are playing in stereo not mono 😕
Amp?
@@KelvinTaylor-gu4xo yeah 4 channel. 110.4 AL
Love 🔥🔥🔥🔥, and ct sound
Thank you!
How loud do they get
They get pretty damn loud, not anything like a supertweeter and pro-mids... but loud while maintaining great sound quality.
Whats the lecrae song ?
It's flame
Nope ct sound for the win. Pay attention people he worded wrong the passenger side is ct sound
