How the fuck does this movie only have a 65% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It deserves like a 95% rating. It's in my top 10 favorite movies of all time.

It’s 2022 and this is still one of my favorite movies and was the very first “movie” as a kid that got my full attention. Long live the 80’s and the greasers.
The book and the movie were both amazing. I have to give it to the book, though. Brought me to damn tears.

I’m reading Rob Lowe’s book where he describes the whole movie production process. This was his first major movie and the beginning of the Brat Pack. It all got a bit “method” at times, such as the guys holding boxing sparring sessions in the hotel corridor, with gloves and helmets, beating the snot out of each other.

Well is this worse Johnny dies from rescuing a little kid in a burning church and afterwards part of the church (that was on fire) fell on Johnny and was rushed to the hospital and minutes later he died.
I have never seen so many Huge Stars at the start of their Career in the Same film. Amazing. This film mustve kicked it off for most of them
I was a freshman in high school in New York city when this came out. You had to go to a movie theater to see this and pay $4.00 I think it was at the time. Maybe $7.00 The movie captured a moment in time that will never be repeated.
Great lineup of actors and singer Leif Garett who fell from grace years later.

His name is Patrick Swayze and yeah he died of Pancreatic cancer so sad tho he was such a great actor.
@@awesomeswagman133 I know I'm responding 5 years late, but Dallas wanted to be killed. After Johnny, the only person he loved and cared about died, he thought that his life had no purpose. So he decided to commit suicide-by-cop and made it seem like he had his gun loaded so that the police would shoot at him. You probably already figured this out though.
The Outsiders movie is a classic with Matt Dillon, Tom Cruise, Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze(RIP), Diane Lane, Chris Howell. Matt, Diane did 2 movies Rumble Fish, The Big Town.
I've always wondered why C. Thomas Howell never really made it big as an actor.
He was in a few B-grade movies but nothing special after The Outsiders and Red Dawn.
Too bad too, I always thought he was a great actor. A little before my time but I still enjoy his movies.

When I was a young teenager and watched this movie on tv lots of times Dally was my all time favorite character. Even used to put Vaseline in my hair to be just like them.
Growing up in the 80's was amazing! It was a great time to be a kid. This was filmed very close to where I was born. Missing the 80's! :)

Man I remember in 7th grade my teacher said we were reading a book called the outsiders and I was like hmm interesting it might be nice as I was reading I never knew a book could grow on me like that.even to the point I was forgetting things around me and my mom thought my phone was dangerous .anyways when this movie was played in class let's just say people did want to sit next to the kid who was constantly thinking the movie characters could here him.But anyways this movie was life changing and I enjoyed it and the book love to all and yeah "Stay golden pony boy"💛💛😭😭😭😭😭

7th grade. My language arts teacher handed everyone “the outsiders” book. What did I think of it? I thought it would be boring like all the other books we read. Boy was I wrong. Probably one of the best books I’ve ever read in my life.
This makes you feel real old when you look at this cast today and the other movies during this time period they acted in: Dirty Dancing, Risky Business….

I’m not sure if you are going to see this, but I am in eighth grade, and as apart of my English Language Arts class, we read this book from first chapter to the last chapter, and then watched the movie. This comment might age a couple of years and you might only see it then but I just wanna let you all know that in this era (the 2020’s), our generation has become incredibly lazy with AirPods and sticking glued to our phones. Despite that, this movie and the book somehow found a way to resonate with its audience in some sort of way. The Outsiders has aged fine despite it being made 40 years ago (almost half a decade!). Because of how great this movie is, it’s been read in English classes.

I absolutely love the book and the movie, but I think it would be awesome if they did a remake! Of corse, they would have to put effort into it, unlike some remakes.
They technically can't without Patrick Swayze because he died. But if you're talking about a re make with different actors then..they would have to put a lot of effort in unlike other remakes. It's probably better for them to not make a remake because it could just ruin the movie. That's my opinion though.

Just saying: When I was in eighth grade, on one of the days that we were reading the book, just as we were about to read and after we’d finish our work on the board, one of the kids in my class( I wouldn’t call him a troublemaker because he actually seemed to pay attention and did his work; he just liked to make jokes, every now and then ) went ‘ Hey, Ms. ( Teacher’s name ), Ponyboy drinks Soda and eats Darry ‘ and, for a minute, the teacher doesn’t say anything, but probably because we’re all laughing too hard for her to get anything out, though you could see on her face that she was really trying to figure out what to say to this kid. Then, after it dies down a bit, she goes, in all seriousness, ‘ no, I believe that would be canibalism. ‘ I never like to laugh at any kid in class when they’re asking for it because the teacher sometimes calls you out for it, but that was one of the few times where I was in a really goofy mood that day and just decided to go for it.
I cant take this trailor seriously because of how stupid the names are XD. I loved this movie so much, and the book.
