Great stuff, Jack shows again that driving isn’t really his thing, and stepping out of the car was a great move. Loved the way the guys all moved round him. Great scene, - I love this character 👍
I love that fact that no words were spoken, you might say "well that's just because it's a movie". But recently I had a amazing experience with a online game where all the players were waiting to start the game. Couple players start doing "follow the leader/conga line" and soon everyone joined in, then following the leaders we split in 2 groups line up across from each other and first headbutted, but then ended doing a kind of country dance. It was amazing how we all worked together with out communicating. It was better than the game.
Thanks for relaying that story. I like to call what you witnessed/participated in 'spontaneous organization" and it's a potentially powerful agent of change. Somewhat rare but I've seen it on YT couple of times, much to the chagrin of those it was directed at.
I can imagine if the guy who gave Jack his hat had said anything, it would have been "You're probably gonna need this" Also I love that after he gives Jack his hat, both him and the other guy on the left of Jack both step in front of Jack without even looking at eachother. They both just have the same thought at the same time. I love that
One of the best choreographed and most visceral car chases in cinematic history.... But that humorous protecting the vigilante/outlaw schtick at the end takes all that moviegoer excitement and converts it into one of the best LAUGHS in cinematic history. Honestly, this movie may not have been acting or thriller royalty, and it ain't no John Wick, but it took a pretty standard formula and gave it some personal touches - enough to make it hold its own just fine. I liked this film.
I never noticed the first two times I saw this scene that the guy on Jack's right steps in front of him. Was too focused on the guy giving him a hat instead I guess
The driving scenes are excellent, really first-class and well-staged. What really stands out from older films is the actors are right there, in amongst the action and driving the cars. I'm sure Cruise did his own stunt driving - because living his life with a fearless attitude of experiencing life to the fullest is just the way he is - but I'm not sure if the cop chasing him, played by David Oyelowo, would have done his own driving. it IS possible he did it himself, all the while maintaining the calm and reserved disposition of his character, but it's also possible he was face-planted in by the completely believable film effects we have these days (or in 2012 when the film was made). Either way, it makes the film stand apart from, say, the car chase movies of the 70s and 80s, where if you looked closely enough you'd see a stunt driver with a totally different hairstyle turning his face turned away from the camera while smashing his car through something (usually a crossing gate) at high speed. In my opinion Jack Reacher is a 9/10 film and Tom Cruise is a brilliant professional. My favourite scene is when he takes Jai Courtney apart in the final battle. That's quite a beating and he totally deserves it.
This movie has to be one of the most underrated movies of all time. It is gripping from start to finish. The action scenes are well thought out and believable. The cast is absolutely epic. I mean Robert Duvall at the gun range owner? Come on! The narrative is epic, the characters and sub characters are believable, the suspense isn't over the top with outrageously stupid music, the plot is well thought out and to top it all off, it didn't take itself too seriously.
And that smile when the guy gets his hat back!… my favorite scene too. I haven’t read the books, but as far as I am concerned TC does great in ever film; that being said; I like him more in comedies. Such a presence on the screen!
one of the best scenes in cinema ever. when simple guys appreciate his appearance, ask "what a hell", got his answer and covered him up. and everething of it made in 2 seconds. that's amaizing.
As a long-time Reacher fan, I was disappointed how the movie only loosely followed the book. But this scene, while totally not in the book, is superb cinema and could have been in the book. Reacher is that cool and TC does him justice.
ha don't care about realism cause that was hilarious. and honestly when people complain about realism in a movie, it's best you toss it out the window cause sometimes (all the time) Realism doesn't apply in movies
Actually I could see that really happening. Some of these cities the police force is so corrupt *cough* New York *cough* that people assume the cops are pulling something shady, depending on the area of town you're in.
Nathan Nissim when I saw the movie, the first thing that ran through my mind was how these people did not feel that this guy was not a rapist or murderer. That they blindly offered him shelter from the police. I thought about this for several minutes, the aspect of poor and middle class values, economics, race... Then I remembered; it was written in the script of a movie. Popcorn, big sodas and entertainment. I think I need to watch more cartoons. I think everyone should.
I love that scene. The smile in the last scene is perfect and the short white guy who moves in to help black reacher before the bus arrives. All perfect.
This is my favorite scene from the movie. 1 Because it has a 1970 Chevelle 454 SS with a muncie 4 speed. 2 the way he causally stepped out the car and walked to the bus stopped and how they just helped him hide from the cops. Don't care if it's unrealistic or not, its a movie and was funny.
It's my least favorite part of the movie because it has a 1970 Chevelle 454 SS with a muncie 4 speed and they trash the shit out of it. Whenever I see a beautiful, classic car get wrecked in a movie, my thoughts are always "Nooooo. Stop!! There are only so many of those left."
@@keithcraig506 do your research please. This was not a 454 chevelle. It was a 396 version, and a movie one at that. Just an average car, nothing fancy or spectacular.

The audience knows he's the good guy, but as far as these people would have known, he could be a mass murderer. It never made sense to me, though it's a cool movie scene, I guess.
I'm going to go way out on a limb, people don't like cops.
They helped him because whatever he might or might not have done, they could sympathize with a guy being hounded by the cops.

Squad?
Welcome to tf2
Laughed so hard when that black man gave Jack his hat, it's the only part of the movie which is pretty funny lol :)
amarsbarr I did to, funny as hell lol.
Funny? Not really, quick judgement call and practical Yes.
Also the bathroom scene
P. S. And the whole old gunman attitude :D
I found every scene with Werner Herzog hilarious too but I'm German as well and that's just our sense of humour.
@@HighSpeedNoDrag have a wash mate
The end of that scene is what makes it genius...the dual grins by both of them...just perfection!!!
The "what the hell did you do" look, then the casual shrug...priceless.
No words needed for, I’ve got you brother.
1:37 Guys are looking at him like “wtf?”
He just shrugs 😂
I missed that. Thanks.
Reacher shrugs, like "You know, Mondays"
My nephew ordered this DVD on eBay and it arrived a few days ago. We watched it last night. Terrific movie. 👏👏👏
If cops hadn’t done so much to betray public trust they might have caught him....
Assassin's Creed: Jack Reacher
I’d buy it 😂
I would not usually help someone I thought was a criminal, but if a dude pulled off such a smooth move like that, I'd hand him my hat also.
Brilliant 👌the hat owners little smirk at the end, classic
The look on the face of the man who lent Reacher the hat made this whole scene!
Years from now folks will still remember the bus scene. Every movie has those few moments.
I can imagine if the guy who gave Jack his hat had said anything, it would have been "You're probably gonna need this"
Also I love that after he gives Jack his hat, both him and the other guy on the left of Jack both step in front of Jack without even looking at eachother. They both just have the same thought at the same time. I love that
I hate all of it. In the real world I’d point his ass out immediately
@@fezzik7619 snitch
@@raijinoflimgrave8708 Damn right.
If you have to speak in films, you get paid extra. So they were saving money by not having them speak.
I could only imagine book accurate Reacher standing a full head height above the little crowd.
Team work. Even among strangers. It’s always beautiful
Those two guys that stood in front of him are the realest
My favourite to.
The speechlessness of the scene makes it shinier either.
& the smile of the black man at the end takes it to a higher level.
I like how the 2 of the people at the bus stop helped him.
I never noticed the first two times I saw this scene that the guy on Jack's right steps in front of him. Was too focused on the guy giving him a hat instead I guess
The new Jack Reacher could never blend into a crowd 😂
This scene made me laugh.. American would do that for sure.
Which movie is this?
Such a smooth escape lmao
Always loved that . he kinda had help tho.
And that smile when the guy gets his hat back!… my favorite scene too. I haven’t read the books, but as far as I am concerned TC does great in ever film; that being said; I like him more in comedies. Such a presence on the screen!
I love the smile the dude at the end gives after getting his hatback
watching them both smile at the end is the best
This scene was literally "Hats off to you buddy."
one of the best scenes in cinema ever. when simple guys appreciate his appearance, ask "what a hell", got his answer and covered him up. and everething of it made in 2 seconds. that's amaizing.
Lol I don’t know about “one of the best scenes in cinema ever”.
I’d put it in the top 75-100.
as an ex military policemen in vietnam my favorite line was, 'all my arrestees were trained killers'. which was true.
Badass. Everybody loves a good escape.
Hurt my feelings to see that beautiful Chevelle trashed.
Guy: Whew that was close, what are you wanted for?"
Jack: "Sexual assault and murder...a lot of it too"
That's a beautiful smile! He earned whatever he was paid for and then some 👏👍❤️
When an extra rightfully, steals the scene.
Fun fact, the tunnel at the beginning of this clip is where ben roethlisberger wrecked his street bike years ago.
As a long-time Reacher fan, I was disappointed how the movie only loosely followed the book. But this scene, while totally not in the book, is superb cinema and could have been in the book. Reacher is that cool and TC does him justice.
He didn't steal that car, it was loaned to him.
I think this is everyone's favorite scene.
You don't need to used words to create a amazing scene.
ha don't care about realism cause that was hilarious. and honestly when people complain about realism in a movie, it's best you toss it out the window cause sometimes (all the time) Realism doesn't apply in movies
It depends on the movie and how it's marketed.
Actually I could see that really happening. Some of these cities the police force is so corrupt *cough* New York *cough* that people assume the cops are pulling something shady, depending on the area of town you're in.
Are you saying ET and Star Wars weren't real? Next thing you're gonna tell me Jaws wasn't real.
Nathan Nissim .Here is the thing.Racism is real. Everyone is not racist.Simple.Dont get sucked in. Don't be a fool either
I love that scene. The smile in the last scene is perfect and the short white guy who moves in to help black reacher before the bus arrives. All perfect.
“Block” Reacher, not “black” Reacher.
If watchdogs was turned into a movie, I would want Tom to play aiden
I knew that scene with his head looking down with the hat looked familiar! It would work
Omg you're right. I think he would perfectly portray Aiden
This is my favorite scene from the movie. 1 Because it has a 1970 Chevelle 454 SS with a muncie 4 speed. 2 the way he causally stepped out the car and walked to the bus stopped and how they just helped him hide from the cops. Don't care if it's unrealistic or not, its a movie and was funny.
eyyyyyyfound a car guy in here, its a nice 70 Chevelle to.....and those two at the bus station tho....
Was it actually a 454 chevelle? I believe it was at best a 396 chevelle!
Hollyfag destroys another classic hotrod for some shitty movie with that short guy.
That’s not one of the best scenes in Jack Reacher it’s one of the coolest scenes in all of movies!
I keep watching this video because this is such a great scene.
The guy with the hat...Is he Morgan Freeman's son?!
Actually no! He’s a former principal from Pittsburgh
1:36 is my fav part. the way the guys just look at him and go 'whad ya do man?' and the shrug 'i dunno'
Absolutely great scene - when a stranger put his baseball cap on Tom Cruise's head to help him hide - made me laugh out loud hysterically when I watched this again this weekend!
You have eye problems, no one put a hat on his head, he did it himself.
It is a good scene from your chubby boy Fantasy Land.
