GOTTA add exponential (less sensitive) to steering! Don't need/want 100% throws at 35mph or more
I don't think anything will make that thing drivable.! 😉
Dual rate max at 46
Yes it has way to much steering movement and sensitivity.
Use exponential and maybe a gyro. Why not use a gyro dude for a speed run.
it has a gyro
Definitely needs steering stability improvements..
Seems like an expensive shelfer or cruiser at best.. needs bumper lanes like at the kids bowling lanes.
That car looks so small when you're speed running it love the channel Joe
Why are you not driving your own rig it seems like to meet you done better
I'll have to give it a run on 12s next time. I did the 8s without much issue
Love the looks, but man thing is fragile 😮 I guess It could be a good street basher, instead of speed runner 👍
If it's fragile how is it a good basher?
@@DjKRONIKPressure I mean, for burnouts and donuts 👍
It needs a huge area to turn it loose! 5th scale (hpi baja) drivers locally use an abandoned car dirt oval track. They can almost hold wfo all the way around. Sideways
Them lower rod ends are pathetic. Im sorry. I feel like the most of the car is over engineered while the front lower suspension was left out and half assed. From primal, i was expecting a billet lower arm....
A quien se le ocurrio 12S a trancion trasera ? Ponle un gyro y para drifting😂😂😂
Omg dude… bro’s laugh makes me laugh🤣. My wife says he sounds like Kamala 😳. lol. No hard feelings
ahahahaha!!! I'm gonna tell him!
@@ExocagedRC lol
A good front toe/camber iron out would help the control heaps (an old school budget rc car fans opinion) 👍
Primal seems to be max money and minimal functionality. Buy the body and wheels only and mount it. The shelf seems to be where this is destined to belong anyways and save huge money and frustration.
This is an awesome Rc 🚗
Crazy how small the esc looks in there.
😁👍
I would slow the se staring servo speed down that way I think it would be more controllable
Nice looking car! But you probably need a big grocery store parking lot to really have fun with it!
Gotta stay with it but least you guys had fun & that's what its all about.
Love to see those 1/5 scales just ripping and a tearin. Keep them coming buddy.
It looks like it starts to spin the tires on 12s and that’s why the back end kicks out. I think turning the punch down would help. You need more grip
Definitely needs to tune the tx for the car. Electronics nowadays isn't like they were a couple of years ago. More tunability
The Rear is much faster the the Front… Not enough down force, no grip, to fast for this chassis… 😮steering-stabilitazion is necessary …6S is more than enough for this basic simple std. Chassis… it’s only a big RC show car… my opinion
if you cant find anything to replace those rod ends, check mcmaster carr, they have all kinds of different sizes and materials, internal or external threaded.
He could find a heavier, more durable rod end, but that suspension arm has barely any structure to oppose shear loading, the wishbones end way too close to the chassis so all horizontal forces start bending the links. I’d look into designing some better arms that can be milled out of aluminum, but Primal should really have considered that out of the box.
Joe, any chance you'd be interested in a speed run challenge against other UA-cam channels come next year around June/July? There's a channel (Poor Boys RC) that picks a specific chassis for the challenge and gives us all class rules to choose from mild to wild. 3 classes were used this year. Brushed, Brushless and Open using a Tamiya MF-01X as the platform the fastest in all 3 classes were - 73mph Brushed, 104mph Brushless, and a whopping 121mph in Open! I'm also extending the challenge to other UA-camrs to see if this event can keep growing year after year, 70 participants this year and looking for 100+ this coming year, will you be one of them?

Let’s do this !
👍👍😃
😁
Brother take care its coming!
Probably best to leave that one on the shelf 😔
yeah probably lol
@@ExocagedRC
NAH!
Drive it like ya stole it! Remember tamiya's slogan: 'no guts NO glory!'
What a waste at 2wd need to be 4wd asap
For this car I would limited your stearing rates to like 10 or 15 percent on strait speed run
THAT'S A MONSTER 💥💪😧
You should put a go pro in side
Not sure if you can get a better run on a concrete road vs asphalt??? Some asphalt are more slippery than others… I’ve noticed this in some of my personal speed runs… just a thought…
It looks so real.
Not so easy! Lol
I don't get doing speed runs on a narrow street. Don't ya'll got malls or parking lots nearby. Your just gonna keep trashing it. It handles like shit and has no traction
This is about all we have, its 2wd, its not meant for this so relax a bit
Just looks like it doesn't want to go straight. I had a 1/10 like that... I never did figure it out 😅
Toe has alot to do with that moreso 2wd. Toe in, straiter tracking, out more turn in/out of the corners.
IMHO (& we know about 'opinions'), it would've been perfect 4wd.🤷♂️
That car has 100mph potential. Even with rwd. I would set the stance and toe and add a ton of exponential.
Its got 100 in it but to actually get it is the challenge
Time for a wider longer location to run that thing
H U G E lot!
Ditches destroy. Find yourself a good wide open parking lot. If you spin out it's not hitting dirt and rolling. The steering don't have a chance hitting grass at 70mph.
The way it wanders looks like a toe issue. Check the toe settings front and rear, a starting point would be to just copy settings for 8th scale Arrma speedrun cars.
can't copy a 4wd car setup on a 2wd
I agree 101% on the toe.
Awesome rig but honestly for the price I'm not really impressed on the handling aspect, maybe All wheel drive 😊 thanks for another awesome video 📸
Sorry primal.
It looks cool, but that thing drives like a turd bucket...
I'd rather build another limitless. 💯
👍😁😎✌️
Slacker 🤪🤷♂️
@@old-rcplane-phart I was slacking a little bit today for sure.
@@CM-ig2pf
'Little bit'🤪🤦♀️🤯
I would find yourself an aircraft runway. That road definitely has a crown making it impossible not to pull one way or the other
easier said than done around here, id love to have that though
A private runway would be sick
There's a plane guy i follow, lives near you. 'Fat guy flies rc'
I want to like this thing,it's a gorgeous RC but..... It seems like a 2k+ self queen.
Exo:
Does the rear differential use/hold diff fluid? IF it does, theres many ways to get gobs of traction.
Just asking
Man, for how expensive this car is, you sure do have to put in a lot of effort and customization just to make it work how it should only to have it break not doing anything particularly out of the ordinary.
Man, that thing doesn’t track very well….maybe the alignment needs to be looked over? Like caster /camber….needs more caster imo!
I feel like FPV might be the key to this thing getting top speed runs successfully
why dont yall add a proper spoiler? it should help. ive experienced this before and the spoiler made a huge difference
Damn that didn’t go as planned. She definitely needs some adjustment to the throttle curve so it speeds up more slowly on its own. I’m sure it’s hard to accelerate slow with 12s with just your finger! Can’t wait to see the next attempt.
Steering expo and a bigger rear wing!! I know a big wing won't look all that good, but trust me,they work!!
I would never let anybody drive this.
Looks cool but needs improvement
That suspension is kinda disappointing. A VERY extreme case of rod end in bending. Any shear loading from braking or hitting obstacles/ditches is not compensated and will bend the link. You can use stronger, thicker material but this will just worsen handling by increasing suspension weight. They really need to make a proper triangular control arm with minimal rod end in bending to alleviate this.
No caster adjustment is also pretty baffling for a car this size 😢
needs different tires
LET'S GO.!!! 👍 👍 👍
I've got to say, Primal seem to have built an undrivable car.!!
I've not seen anyone yet who's been able to keep it under control.
Apart from it's sheer size & blingy components it doesn't seem too impressive tbh.
I understand sacrificial parts, but those suspension arms seem a little too eager to sacrifice themselves.!.. Are they kamikaze parts.?? 😉 😂
Hey, remember when they wanted to put it into production without any suspension.!? 😉 😂
its not meant for what we are doing so some will have to figure it out. And yeah I remember the no suspension version.. almost cancelled
I wonder if you sprayed the rear tires with that sticky spray the drag guys used it would help. That is a lot of air resistance and weight for those back tires to be pushing at 70 plus mph. It doesn't take much slip to kick that rear out.
I honestly dont know but it needs traction for sure
As expensive as that thing is I am slight disappointed in the reliability. I mean that crash was anything serious and still broke something but like you said its intended purpose isn’t for speed runs.
Look at those suspension arms, a small wishbone shape that ends way close to the chassis, with a looong rod end to the wheel hub. Terrible case of rod end in bending, making it much weaker to shear loading (from throttle, braking, or hitting bumps) than a triangular wishbone that ends right at the ball joint
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉71🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
That thing sounds like an auto bot when braking 👍. Awesome
lol thats the ABS I was trying to make it stop without crashing
Sorry to say, but seeing this car run, it's crap. Even when it would run slow it probably would spin out. Don't know how good the tires itself are (warming them up or softening them could help), but this needs probably softer springs or other oil thickness to make it better. Alignment was mentioned, but think you got that covered since your not newbees to rc. Looks good though, but bit to expensive to have as a shelfqueen...
its an attention getter mainly and yeah we need much better tires for speed stuff.
@@ExocagedRC So the tires are crap? I mean, didn't look what this car costs, but probably a healthy price. When you crash this car it most likely won't be cheap by any means too. So it would be fair to assume and expect some decent rubber under this car... Could try to soften them, it would help at least a bit...
Man I wish you would make longer videos 8 to 10 minute videos it's just not long enough I'm sure a lot of your viewers would agree with me 15 to 20 minutes and you would get more views
15-20? I could easily do that with all the footage but it would get boring.
+, blootoob ads in 1000's of freaking commercials
Man that’s scary. Does that things not brake like a normal rc car with the motor or is it only those disc brakes? That’s not a good design. How the hlll it needs to be all wheel drive I think.
it has disk brakes at each wheel no not normal brakes
@@ExocagedRC man that seems like a bad move. It’s way too unpredictable and ez to lock up. I would think.
Looks like yall are at the end of my road lol
its a nice dead end road
Hows the weight bias??? looks rear heavy which makes the slides hard to correct. I would check the bias and maybe put some weight up front. Street cars like to be nose heavy.
Also if possible i would try more caster angle, that should slow down the steering inputs.
Pretty sure it’s rear heavy.
Can’t adjust castor that I can see. Just camber
Bummer its rear wheel drive
NO NO MY FRIEND , LOOK UP 1980s PAN CAR …BEFORE BRUSHLESS !
why not just find an open field??????
.... it would get stuck...
@@ExocagedRC I mean a paved open lot
Man he likes to laugh 😂
Thats why we call him Mr Giggles
No no no good for that price, like I said I'd def go felony
they aren't comparable
Apples to bananas
Turn gyro off
Soo you want it to hit the ditch faster?
@ExocagedRC i believe it's trying to compensate for your correction at speed and then you try to correctit and then...by your coment you haven't tried it yet 😅
More toe-in on the front end. The stock set-up on the RC is pure crap, just for burning tires.
Still the worst rc out there then! Primal should be embarrassed
You can add 1000 hp to a unicycle, but it will only make it go slower.
This chassis needs major tweaking to make it go straight without crashing.
