2017 Audi Q5 Brake Pad and Rotor Replace | Saved $1500 DIY Instead of Dealer

Dealer quoted $1900 to replace break pads and rotors, so I decided to do it myself and bought the parts at Amazon for less than $400. This is the Q5 with Premium trim line, so check your car's and get the exact fit. This trim line has the larger motor so it has dual piston calipers. Even if you do not have the exact car, I found it helps to watch the procedure for a few different vehicles because the process is about the same, but there are small differences or problems you may run into.

The punch is 3/16" (about 5mm), so you can use anything that size or small such as 1/8" (about 3 mm) or 1/16" (about 1.5mm). I added a link in the description of the video for a cheap set on Amazon. You can buy punch sets at Home Depot, Lowes, or any automotive set. Just search for "Pin Punch" and check the tool has a flat end instead of some that are rounded.
