You are the man! Number 1, 3 and 10 really rock my boat. I just completed a building project in Nigeria and my God did I relate to those 3 items the most. My wife documented all the challenges and she plans to share with anyone one else we know that would be doing building projects in Nigeria. Watching your video is like listening to all the challenges we encounter during our project. She narrates the same issues daily to me. By the way she was the one that managed the daily process of the project all the way from US. I gave up on the project after the 3rd month, but she saw it through and I am grateful for her tenacity and focus on the end goal.
I'm currently in London but I'm Nigerian from Ebonyi state. My grandfather was a well known top farmer in my village and i have same passion for farming. Although I only heard stories of my grandfather's greatness and how big his yam barn used to be, I'm passionate about returning to Nigeria to invest heavily in greenhouse farming. The major challenge holding me back is management. How to get a good and reliable management. I'm planning to take 6months off to Nigeria. This video boosts my passion. thanks.

Yeah that KYC is so important to better inform your end game. I would also say for people who find this project attractive. I think partnership is smarter (I.e farm associations) there are more than enough producers in Nigeria. Finally I think the other thing to note is don’t be afraid to TAKE YOUR TIME. There is so much to figure out because the system is complex. Great video Bayo.
Thank you for this important information. I really enjoyed it and I have learnt a lot from your experiences. Now I'm waiting for the part two. I'm scare to relocate to Nigeria because of high level of insecurity in Nigeria. Thank you my brother Bayo 👍👌💯🙏

I totally agree about micromanagement. I learnt that lesson the hard way while trying to be an absentee farmer. Living in UK and farming in Sierra Leone
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I would not call them failures, as it was your first time in farming. Very proud that you didn’t give up and worked through all the challenges. Kudos to you and your teams👍🏾👏🏾.
Bayo this video was very useful. As someone who is basically going into a similar project like yours on Opeji, Abeokuta. I found this very useful. Well done for sharing and i definitely want to visit your farm when I visit Nigeria in May 2023.

Thanks Bayo, very insightful lessons learned. I think my biggest issue with the poultry business I did was failing to micromanage and then taking time to train the farm manager. I am about to start crop farming and will definitely do a checklist of these lessons learned.
Thanks Bayo your video was so inspiring I came across you at the right time. Nigeria is safer, my small boy advice sir.
Tanzania isn't business-friendly and has too much bureaucracy. Foreigners can't own any land.
Rwanda is clean and efficient but too small.
I totally agree about micromanagement. I learnt that lesson the hard way while trying to be an absentee farmer. Living in UK and farming in Sierra Leone
Yes oooh. its impossible.
As For 4, Use a forestry mulcher. It doesn't remove any top soil.
oooh interesting. 1st time hearing of it. i dont know of anyone who has this to rent. would it work on thick forest ?
@@thenigeriannomad yes it does. If the trees are very big, you can first cut them down with a chain saw before using the forestry Mulcher.

How about owning the bulldozer?
Would digging a well be cost effective or is that even an option?
it is an option. but not cheap in that specific area.
Did you had to fence your property to keep away cattle?
Fortunately for us. We don't have that problem in our area.
Buts I'll advise it for the people who do
Great message do you have a target market before or afterwards
before or after what step ?
