How To Powder Paint Guitar Pedal Enclosure

After drilling and cleaning, it’s time to paint the first layer of powder coat!
I start with cleaning each enclosure using IPA and a clean cloth.
That ensures me each surface is clean and the paint will cover correctly.
I’m preparing my Tribo powder painting tool and connecting it to the compressor. This type of tool doesn’t need any additional power supply. It charges the paint as the powder is pushed through teflon inserts inside the tool with the airflow of the compressor. The charged powder is attracted to the grounded enclosure.
It’s good for painting small elements like guitar pedal enclosures.
After preparing the tool, I’m ready to paint.
To cure the powder coat, I need to put it into the oven for a few minutes.
Any simple oven will work, but you can’t cook in it anymore after using it even once for curing.
After a few minutes, I’m taking the enclosures from the oven and let them cool down.
Now the first layer of powder coat is done, and I’m ready to engrave the graphics using the laser.
