As a Child of Deaf Adults (Coda) and a mom, I've witnessed a beautiful yet sometimes challenging relationship between my parents and kids, centering around communication and connection within our family. This journey has been filled with joy, learning, and profound understanding. My ASL journey has been like the movie Avatar, bird, combine hairs, eyes grow, trip over the thread of deafness through my life I didn't realize was there, hard of hearing parents, age 9 school mainstreamed me that year, I was oblivious to it all, having all that floooood in at once, now, have Deaf coworkers, learn ASL 33 months up-to-now, it's become a part of me, inseparable, still learning, always, thaaaat~
