Great videos, was wondering, old mechanic, on the FJR you do the basic maintenance, but can you do swingarm and link system maintenance as well? The mechanics tell me 'its easy' and 'I can do it myself' but to be confident, can you show me? You can do it, even when making a video of it 🙂
Hello. I am about to purchase the latest gen. The Fjr 1300 AE with 67.000 kms -10.000 miles- . I have read some issue related to the gears when Yamaha decided to include a 6th gear. Would you recommend this bike? I am not a novel rider. I had an FZR 1000 Exup, Thanks in advance
A lot of ticking fjrs simply have the wrong oil, filter or both.with 4 psi oil pressure at idle you better not have too dense of a filter or too thick of oil or IT WON'T make it to the top of the motor until 2500 RPM when it has enough pressure to pump it up there and the ticking stops.soon as it gets down to 1500 or so it'll start ticking again with wrong oil or filter.my gen 1 likes genuine Yamaha filters, any other filter makes it tick up to 2500 RPM.
I own the same bike an 06 FJR Yamaha 1300 can you do a video on the S4 and S6 spider bite which the Gen 2 series were prone to get usually from corrosion thanks so much for your video's watching from Australia 🦘🌏
Good video and he seem very through but you don’t have to take loose all that plastic to get to the screw on the bottom to drain oil. Also don’t ever put on a dry oil filter! Always fill it up several times till the new oil fill the filter, then install……good luck!
Being a police bike, there won’t be any problem with it. Services are carried out regularly. As long as they have serviced it as per the manual after that.

I’ve never seen anyone make such an easy job, so difficult! Those panels do not need to be removed
Can you post your video on how to do it the easy way please.
Bro allcu gotta do is take drain bolt out and filter @flexjay87
Great bikes. Ive had two . 2004 Gen1 96,000 miles and still perfect. 2013 Gen 3 just 18500 miles perfect. Do all my own servicing too.
More videos from me are on its way 😉👍🏻👊🏻
@@TheOldMechanic look forward to watching even more of your helpful videos.
Thanks !

Agreed. I changed the oil and filter on my FJR1300 today and only removed the bottom bolt on the fairing to keep the oil filter from draining on it.
Thanks for the good instruction. You are very precise in your passion/job. All your videos are very useful.
Thank you very much! 👍🏻👊🏻😉
Kan ik mijn yamaha fjr niet bij jou in onderhoud doen? Woon je toevallig niet in Gelderland?
Love it. Once again great how to video. Hope your doing well.

Quick question. Is there a problem if I use the hiflo204?... I can not find de 148 anywhere🥴
What is the hiflo oil filter code? Thanks in advnce
the Castrol power rs 10w40 4T is full-synthetic, not half/semi-synthetic :-) The "Power1" is semi-synthtetic
Nope its halve synthetic 😉
