Beast, I run a GTR1400 Kawasaki and it recommends oil, filter and diff oil changes @ 7500 miles. I'm around 12K miles and the "Connie" runs bloody good. Cheers, Mate.
The final drive fluid looked a bit cloudy; maybe some moisture got in? That happened a few times to me on the old GSA. I did my FD every 6k with the engine oil only because I had it off road and in water crossings so much and because BMW FD's have a high failure rate. I was always pleased though when I drained it and it was still golden yellow :) Also, I tried to use a torque wrench whenever I could given I tended to over-torque most of the time. Great vid!
Wandering Beast My Triumph also calls for 10k oil changes, but even the shop tech said that's too many! So I do it every 5k. As for final drive, Triumph calls for a drive fluid change at 500 miles (first service) then NEVER AGAIN! Needless to say, mine gets changed every other oil change. I know Yammies are good, but I wouldn't push it.
Question for whoever knows: where is the oil dipstick on these?? Most bikes I've had had it on the oil fill cap
What year bike (year group) and what filter did you use? More information please.

my first experience with a final drive, loving it so far, might even put tkc80 on the fjr and go for broke ;)

Differential? Not likely
Never second guess manufacturers recommended oil specs
No tourque wrench!? Hmmmm
naw
I've never used a torque wrench for oil changes, and almost never change a crush gasket. Never an issue on the four bikes I've owned over the years.
Nuts and bolts were made wayyyyyyy before torque wrenches 👀
