The 16ms refresh on the IPS panels isn't actually noticable and you can fit 60hz refresh into it. I've seen much much worse even on supposedly faster TN panels around this era. The stands are made to take up to 22/24" monitors. I have both a 1908FP and 2007WFPb and the stands are infact different on the 2007WFPb to the 1908FP one, my 1908 stand has more height but at least they are interchangeable. It might be the case that dell just used leftover b cases for the samsung VA panel monitors to save costs so it could be a lucky dip. I think manufacturing date might be a lot to do with it as well. The early revisions suffered with banding problems. I prefer the 2007WFPb to 2007FPb as you get nearly HD (1680x1050) both have IPS panels. Stock up on AS501 soundbars as they seem to spontanously die at random and even if you take the screws out they are glued together and not meant to really come apart without breaking it in the process. The AX510 is also a compatible soundbar if you can't source AS501.
You need to account for your camera's rolling shutter. The different parts of the camera's image represent light exposure from different moments in time. There could easily be 1/60 s difference in timing between the top of the frame and the bottom. You should figure out how your camera scans (top to bottom, typically) and then orient the two monitors to put the displayed timing numbers at the same scanning lines. That probably means putting the monitors side-by-side with the numbers at the same height within the camera's frame.
Take a look on the EIZO FlexScan S2133, it is a 21" real 4:3 ips 6b ms monitor with resolution 1600 x 1200 and are made today. Have a display port, dvi-d and vga and can rotate same as the Dell but it us very expensive, around $1000...
Great video here, thanks for posting this! Love the ease of flipping that 4:3 LCD for quick tate mode play. Did you by chance try the manual lag test from within 240P test suite? I know that's not the most scientific of tests, but I feel it always help me get a general idea of where a setup is from a lag standpoint...
I did run the manual lag test. Even with my super human video game skills (kidding), I couldn’t get consistent results so I just didn’t even bother testing that with the other two monitors. I will say that I did game a bit on it and it seemed fine. It’s still better on CRT. No question there. It’s just that gaming on any of the LCDs didn’t make a huge, huge difference between them.
@@RobNava Yean, I can tolerate a little lag in most cases, but there are few things that become impossible with any amount of lag (beating Mike Tyson, Battletoads clinger winger stage). Of course, if you needed to do either of those things you could just look down at the PVM with your setup there. 🙃
Attention.
I've got an HDMI - DVI cable and can't for the life of me get the MiSTer to output 1600x1200 over it to the 2007FP - no matter what video_mode settings I try. Hashtag sad face lol.
one of the best lcd monitor ever
I own an EIZO FlexScan S2133 BK. Aspect ratio is 4:3. The screen size is 21.3 inches. I bought it to play old games. I'm very satisfied.
the the same exact monitors as you and wanted to get into MiSteR. THis helped me so much, subbed

Thank you, this was extremely helpful. I'm going with the 1908fp then.

Hi. I used a lag tester and did side by side testing in a couple of other videos. Check them out in my videos section.

those are monitors made for professional use. Thats why they are so expensive.

Thanks for the video! Cool comparison. An offtopic question but: What are those speakers you use on top of the PVM?

S-ips version is better?

I wonder how VGA analog is compared to HDMI to DVI Digital on MiSTer
That's a great video, thank you for sharing.
Would you be willing to test another monitor? It's Samsung Syncmaster 214T.
Bought my third one today that i got for $20
how does it play Mister FPGA on a 1908 fpb monitor aka 5:4 ratio, probably cuts off the boundaries of the game. since they are made for 4:3.
did you modified your mister.ini configuration to make it work with 2077fp?
Very cool 😎
How long is the 3.5mm cable?
What are your thoughts on the HP LP2065?
Para el habla español. Cual fue el mejor monitor para juegos arcade y retro?

How did you connect the Mister to the monitor if the 2007Fpb doesnt have hdmi?
HDMI to DVI cable.
@@RobNava thanks!
