DBE doc was really good but definitely designed to increase sympathy for a character in order to sell shoes so of course they’ll leave out the recent drama with underdogs.
I can’t imagine how bad it must have gotten with the other athletes for Cotler to have to fire her (isn’t that new info?)
DBE doc was good. But didn’t make sense Torres was not in a single scene.

John, great honest take on DBE. Agree we didn't get whole story on underdogs. I'm also wondering when they fished all the shooting. Would like to have heard from Matt T.

I agree with John about this missing pieces of the documentary. DB’s mom took ownership of her mistakes, whereas in the Kicking out of underdogs to me it made Justin look bad for booting her with an email, almost like, wasn’t that a bad way to end it hopefully nobody will ask why she was told to leave.
Thank you Mr Spin and podcast. Deleted Instagram a month ago and without these weekly shows I'd be lost.

Vellner has mentioned a few times that exposer to various sports when young helps crossFit athletes adapt to new movements. Some crossfit athletes have done nothing but crossfit. Danielle has done a lot and learns quick
DB deserves way more credit here. Odds were totally against her.

Seated LL RC to 8ft. Tape line, both hands over and then back down. 8ft can be easily done. Most rig uprights are 8ft too. Cheaper to buy more ropes than GHDs. But definitely agree no GHDs. High volume of TTB.
It's "Miriam" - normal pronunciation 😊 And she's an amazing athlete (not saying Gracie isn't)

I agree John about the DBE documentary. Where is matt torres? And the Justin Cotler situation was very obviously not the whole story. I can imagine it had to be pretty bad to be fired. Seems weird to mention it a little and gloss over the rest

I think CF media needs to change their narrative on Hyrox & their athletes. Hyrox Media welcomes CF athletes with open arms, celebrates them when they win even casual CF'ers. But TEF & other CF media are dismissive of Hyrox & not celebrating their athletes when they win like Mirjam & other Hyrox guys who made the QF. Isn't CF supposed to be welcoming to all?
I would celebrate Hyrox athletes with open arms at the GAMES…the open is wildly different especially since the workouts are easier than they use to be. Should mirjam make the games it will be all love. She’s mostly getting the brunt of negativity because I believe Gracie got robbed

Where are the no reps on muscle-ups? Just like the camera angle with thrusters from Hiller’s video, her camera is well below the bar. Making it impossible to see how high the toes are going. I imagine those no reps aren’t actually no reps. Pathetic
I paused the episode to watch the DBE Doc, 2 big take aways are that it tells an incredible growth story, still not a massive fan of her personality but it’s whatever, and that it made me dislike Cooper. He came off very into the athletes that can benefit him, I could be wrong but just my initial thought.
DBE's "branding" as "DGAF what others think of me"...she drags us through an hour and a half of DGAF...yet then clearly gives AVBF (A Very Big F) about us knowing what actually happened with her and Cotler. Seemed to implode soon after their road trip to Vermont. Hm. They were both so full of sh*t when (not) talking about it in the doc. Very sus.
