- I check out the 4-door 2018 Audi A5 Sportback, which is a hybrid combination of the A4 sedan and A5 coupe. This detailed premium plus trim with technology package, s-line option, B&O stereo, and a few other items is actually a decent price for the head-turner it is.

I've read quiet a few of the negative reviews and a few of the positive ones. I just traded in a 2016 Golf R for a A5 Sportback 2.0T Prestige. After having it for 5 days this is one sweet machine. I'm not gonna sit here and say HP is overrated, but similar to a person owning a $2000.00 laptop/desktop and only word processing that's generally what happens with car purchases. Have I owned HP cars before, out of 16 car purchases, yes. The quality of material, fit, finish, among other attributes that Audi brings to the table it's money well worth spent. You can buy a car that has 330HP and doesn't utilize it well do to shoddy engineering. This A5 delivers. Oh and for it being a VW as some would say you could get a Caddy/Chevy, Acura?Honda, Lexus/Toyota...you get my point, so give the VW it's due properly VW/Porsche/Audi.

Great video btw, really liking that this car still uses torsen instead of Quattro with ultra. The allroad went that direction so now for the same price you can get similar space and the old awd system.

Frank Guo yes, some color like red interior is only available on S5; I think the color that you mentioned above is available on S5 only. A5 is more like daily driving car and the cost is reasonable.

Looking at the 2018 figures, Audi sold about 34000 A4s and about 26000 A5s in the US and that includes the Sportback.
Overall a phenomenal car with a multitude of opulent features at a very modest price tag.

What that's good deal I went to the dealer day ago the A5 2018 prestige they asking 59k for a white one

Nice! Just to let you know, this has 18" wheels and a sport suspension as the S Line option package is included. I test drove one in Denver yesterday, and found it was a bit smoother than A5 Coupe, possibly due to wheelbase being 3" longer. Still some road feel and a bit of shimmy detected. Not an issue for me. Have a Prestige version on order locally and should arrive later this month. Only other Audi I'd consider is A7 which is 10" longer and $15k+ pricier. This A5 is more fun to drive.
S line does option include 19'' wheel here in Canada.
Many can propose the valid argument that Audi's interior cabin material pales in comparison to its competitors, but the technology is much more advanced and standard features, along with options, makes the Audi A5 sportback S-line a very luxurious and satisfying car, with a very equitable price tag, almost "cheap " for a vehicle of his segment and class
I have the feeling you should get the S5 when you want a fast Audi. The 4 cylinders are good for efficiency and not slow in any way but the 6 cylinder feels more appropriate for a car this size.

Great another car that i really like for this price range lol. I am looking at purchasing a luxury sedan for 50k or so. And was debating about mercedes or genesis. The Q5 will still be Audi's best seller but for their smaller sedans, i'd gladly pay more for the style of the A5 Sportback over the A4
My only gripe is the front lower lip. It's too "flat". It needs sharper lines/angles on the bottom to make it look more prominent, like the 2018 A4. And I also wasnt too much of a fan with the DRL on the A5.

Well, the A5 sportback is a 4-cylinder, so it's no A7. There is an S5 sportback, which I am posting today at ua-cam.com/video/ekva1VqmHn4/v-deo.html The S5 has a turbo V6 with more power than the supercharged V6 in the A7. So that's the real match-up: S5 Sportback vs A7. Thanks for watching!

Could you please tell me how the road noise is? I'm comparing it to the A4 and I'm questioning how loud the frameless doors on the A5 sportback compared to the fully framed doors on the A4.
+gotcoke795 I used a Roland R-05 stereo microphone. Grab some headphones and put the volume at a safe level. You'll hear a 44.1khz 16-bit audio recording (CD quality) with whatever compression UA-cam is using. That's about as real as it gets.
I just got mine a little over a week ago and I haven’t noticed anything different as far as noise from the windows. Overall cabin noise is almost identical minus some wheel noise on some roads that I’m attributing to the bump up to 19” rims and sportier tiers.
Love this car but why no manual option if you can get a manual in the A4 and A5? I would think any American driver drawn to a luxury sport "Hatchback" over the sedan and coupe would be more inclined to row his/her own gears - similar seemingly backwards thinking as with BMW and the 4 series gran coupe.
I have an A5 coupe with a manual now. I would probably buy this if it had a manual.
Does anyone know how much would it be for europe? I mean, i just configurated one as 2.0 quattro and automatic and it goes to 48k. No other options inside. If i add trap, navigation and all other options of this one i think it goes to a total of almost 70k..

+Dave Andrew I didn't try it. The seats fold down and that hatchback is massive. But there will be less headroom in the rear on the Sportback. The frameless doors do make it less cumbersome in tight parking spots, but the rear windows don't roll all the way down.

Same here. The bottom lip of the A5 is too flat for my taste. and the DRL does seem less prominent than the A4 DRL; which is really nice!

+Tony Chen It's a tad on the large side to be something to toss around town. I love the A3 because I've never been squeezed out of a parking space and it hauls ass. The new A4 and A5 models are larger, lighter, and more powerful than before, but their price is pushing into an infinite universe.

It depends on which country you live in. The ownership experience is tracked by firms like JD Power. I look at it from an enjoyment perspective. I'm personally not a fan of the CLA. In terms of the new C-class, it's a nicer car than the CLA but when equipped with what you get on the competition, you're pushing $55k for a 4-cylinder Mercedes C-class in the USA. The Audi is a better deal. BMW is even more expensive, and they confuse buyers with the 320i and 328i (both 4-cylinders). They are all asking a lot of money these days and it's a matter of what type of tech you want in your car. Each manufacturer does tech differently. You also didn't mention the Infiniti Q50. The Infiniti Q50 is probably the best place to start based on your questions.

There is an S Line package, which we have on ours, but no flat-bottom steering wheel. Need to by the S5 or RS5 (which is rumored).
