I absolutely enjoyed your video with great visit of the main places to visit in Palermo! Any suggestions of lodgings? Traveling solo without hiring a car. Thank you
I recommend staying close to the centre - if you don't have a car. There are places near to Teatro Massimo, Via Libertà, Piazza Sant'Anna (although it is noisy at night), Quattro Canti and Via Maqueda.
We will be there for a week at the end of August. Plan on exploring the city, mondello and cefelu by train then picking up a car on day 4 and exploring western sicily before leaving for Mt Etna for a week, then Naples for 4 days and Rome for 10!
Hi I will be staying beside central station in October...Does the hop on hop of bus leave from central station ? Is there a bus from central station to mondello beach ?
The hop on hop off bus goes to Mondello. You'll need to double check departure stops as there are two bus lines. You can also get a local bus to Mondello run by Amat - 806.
Thank you🙏 it was very helpful and I finally feel like I found someone reasonable talking about Palermo. I was tired of all those stereotypical comments about it. Do you think visiting Mondello beach in October would be nice? Or are there still lidos and space is restricted?
October is a lovely time of the year. It’s not as intensely hot as the Summer, it’s less busy and the majority of lidos will have finished for the season. In October, people still swim in the sea here in Palermo!
The airport remains open but bars and shops will close. I’ve never stayed overnight there but if you Google it, you can see what people say about the experience.
Only critique ... pronounce the Italian/Sicilian as the locals would ... English has 27 vowel sounds ... there are only 5 in Italian. The locals will appreciate the attempt ... a e I o u ... Ah eh ee oh ooh
Why don't I see anyone talking about the tons of garbage on each and every street in Palermo. It is literally the dirtiest place I have ever seen in my life. I'm really disappointed
I didn’t find Palermo had any more rubbish than other Italian cities (Rome, Naples). I found the trees and parks in Palermo a welcome and refreshing green change, a lovely surprise I wasn’t expecting. Also I actually found all the service people I interacted with the friendliest and most helpful of all cities on my European holiday.
piacere di vedere la città dei miei parenti
Sicilia & Palermo are lucky to have you - you make it extremely appealing to discover

Great video, we will be staying about an hour east of Palermo but would love to visit, how do you suggest we get there?
It depends on whether where you will be staying has access to public transport or whether a hire car would be a better option
@@MsBritaly we are hiring a car, so I guess that's the best way.

is it possible to sleep at the airport? i will arrive at midnight :') do you know if the airport closes or not?

What is not mentioned. August in Palermo is horrendous
Indeed it is!

jokes on you the average palermitano already goes to the beach at the end of march
March can be a little crazy for the weather, so it depends on the year!
@@MsBritaly Yeah you're right March is crazy here, there are days where it rains and days where we have 40 degrees
Tourists mistake decay for local _folklore_ 🤣
Ahahha

I wish you would show us how things are spelled rather than quickly saying them in Italian
If you turn on subtitles - you’ll be able to see the spelling that way
Why don't I see anyone talking about the tons of garbage on each and every street in Palermo. It is literally the dirtiest place I have ever seen in my life. I'm really disappointed
I’ve recorded videos about this on my channel - it’s the one thing that really lets this city down

I think the food is overrated i thin you need to be drunk to enjoy it
Well - I have to say it all depends on where you go because I’ve never had that problem
I think you have some serious intercultural issues
Mafia on every corner?
