I'm Jason, a full-time British Travel Vlogger and UA-camr who's been to 55 countries. I've been travelling around the world full-time since 2017. So far, my trips have taken me to Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.
I have travel series' from many of the world's best (and least) known destinations. I filmed the first vlogs on my channel in the summer of 2016 after spending a year living in China. A proper solo trip around Eastern Europe followed after graduating from University in the summer of 2017, taking me to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Kosovo. This trip marked the start of my efforts to make a UA-cam full-time job.
After that European trip I went heavily into exploring Asia, visiting India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Kazakhstan (seeing me cover a lot of Far East and Southeast Asia in particular).
I have also travelled to North Africa and the Middle East fairly extensively over the last five years, filming videos in Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Israel and Palestine.
To date, I have not yet been to Australasia or South America. Though I am hoping to visit the latter sometime in 2022, along with a first stop in the Caribbean.
I've travelled to North America just once as a UA-camr, visiting Mexico in 2021. Though I have been to both the USA and Canada, this was as a child on family holidays.
So far in 2022 I've taken my first trip to Sub Saharan Africa, visiting both Kenya and Tanzania, before making my way to the Middle East, stopping in Dubai and Lebanon. Europe followed, starting with Cyprus, covering both the Greek and Turkish sides of the divided island.

Sicily is absolutely magical. Amazing people, culture, food, history, architecture everything.
Much love from Greece 🇬🇷🇮🇹
Have always enjoyed your vids and especially this one. I first traveled to Palermo in 1985 in the midst of the Mafia wars...it still looked like a city emerging from WW2. The port area around La Cala was still surrounded by the rubble from the Allied's bombing. There was no nightlife, the main streets that are now pedestrianized were choked with traffic during the day and empty at night. La Vucciria was the main outdoor market (unlike now its Ballaro and Capo). There seemed to be police on every corner, especially around gov. buildings. I dont think I saw more than 10 tourists the 4 days I spent in Palermo. In the Palatine Chapel, I was the only visitor....and like you I had no idea what to expect when I walked i in and was blown away. Despite all that it was, along with Napoli, one of my two favorite cities in Italy during my post university backpacking days. I returned for 2 weeks for Christmas 2019/New Years, just before the pandemic with my extended family...including my father (like you). The city sparkled, I fell in love with Palermo again and my family were enchanted. I returned again in Spring 2022 for a week and then walked one of the cammini that start in Palermo and end in Agrigento (I highly recommend for those who want to visit the relatively unvisited beautiful towns south of Palermo....recommend Spring or Fall). Visit Palermo now before it becomes overrun with tourists.
Hi. I visited Palermo for the first and only time in October 2022. I didn't expect a city so full of joy and life. Like you said, the pedestrian zone in the city center/Vucciria is now a major nightlife (and day ) attraction. It's basically a 24/7 hangout spot.
The people, the weather, art, buildings, food, everything it's magical in this city.
One question though: how would you compare the people now with the people then? Were they already so friendly and outgoing, or there was more tension in those days?

Wonderful video. Palermo is beautiful!
It’s atmospheric and edgy but also beautiful at the same time.
What a beautiful place !! 😍
Sicilia is absolutely magical ✨I really appreciated how you captured the grit, vibrancy, and mystery of Palermo and Cefalù.
Città invivibile
Dirty filthy island
Planning to visit Palermo very soon, I heard many good things about it. I am from the very North of Italy and never had a chance to visit Sicily... Can't wait to go! Great video! 😍
I love Palermo
Me too, it’s now one of my favourite places in Italy.
Sicily Number 1.....Bravo

I'm traveling to Palermo in two weeks, and this video is so helpful!
Good to know!
Sicily is wonderfull
Bravo, Jason!! I have never been to Sicily/Palermo but wanted to get a feel of what it would be like to walk around the city. Your video captured beautifully what it would be like to walk the streets, see the everyday sights including the markets, the buildings, people, etc. It was exactly what I was looking for when I searched UA-cam for a video on Palermo. Thank you!
Woooow that’s so beautiful, and I love to visit locals foods market wherever I visited the countries . Hopefully I can visit Palermo soon
My fathers family is from Palermo, Sicily. I hope one day to make it there.
As always, absolutely gorgeous video man! Thanx for sharing!
Hi Jason, I absolutely love traveling along with you with your videos. I enjoy how you explain a lot of history and show a lot of sites and educate us with your experiences. You do a fantastic job with the background music and narrating throughout. I also appreciate the clear pace that you speak and walk in your videos. Occasionally, some of your panning around scenic places is a little fast and dizzying so I like it when you go a little slower and we can take in the view much better. ❤
Great tour all of our favorites in Palermo! So much more to see in Sicily!
I like that your vlogs are always very educative! I'm taking notes 😁
Happy to hear that
Thank you for your insight. Super helpful 👌🏽
Palermo, capital from 1130 to 1816, always the capital of Sicily, Palermo, a colorful metropolis, art of sea food sun
Looks like the best city in Europe to me. Maybe only Lisbon and Istanbul compare
This brings back so many memories...what a beautiful city

I think I saw you and your family sitting in front of the restaurant "Atipico", near the Politeama. I was wearing a yellow dress and your mother glanced at me, probably because She found It a Little "weird" :) I Just glanced at all of you and thought such an happy family you were, discovering new tastes, a new city, new emotions. To me, as a local, everything Is well known, but still I manage to be a tourist in my own city. Enjoy your time here in Palermo

@@JasonBillamTravel Thanks! When are you coming to explore West Chicago, Illinois?
Really enjoyed the video. My grandfather was stationed there in WWII and had good memories. Because of that I hope to visit. I would like to know how easy it would be to get around without speaking Italian.
beautiful city in italy
At the beginning of the video u walked in front of my house 😂, much love from Palermo thank u for the video
When you'll go back north I'll be waiting for you in Turin! :D
Still haven’t been there yet. Need to catch a Juventus game while I’m there too!

Grazie!
@@JasonBillamTravel Merci
Hi Jason lovely city was in Sicily earlier part of the year, but my spent my few days in (Taormina) Such a beautiful place as well as been historical, if you get a chance to visit, you wont be disappointed, but great video thank you.
Nice, glad you enjoyed it. Like I said I would’ve loved to have visited Taormina, hopefully next time.
Love your videos! I really liked also your videos on Naples. It seems like such an undiscovered or underappreciated treasure. I’m curious how you would compare Naples to Palermo? I’ve been to the East Coast of Sicily , I especially loved Siracusa. I love the Sicilian culture. But I’ve never been to Naples, and I’ve always wanted to explore the bustling and slightly chaotic streets.
Very similar places on so many levels just different accents.
No.....Non regge proprio il confronto !
love your films
I love Palermo 😍😍
I was there last week!
I would absolutely love to explore that market for a full day. Great video.
Really exciting and vibrant part of the city. Thanks!
Beautiful movie 😍 new sub and bell ❤
Nice👍👍👍👍
Peace and Cheers I Wonder where you will be next!
If you will ever want to visit Corleone we are also available ☺️we would love to take you for a tour with Is of Galleria Corleone tours...Well done ✅ love your video
GOOD job bro
Very nice video.
Cheers!
That’s a rice ball my guy! Sicilia!!!! ✊✊✊ 🇮🇹
Happy Birthday 🎂 to your dad’s 70th birthday. I hope if I get to 70 my daughter will celebrate my birthday abroad somewhere. Even though I don’t know your dad, your dad had you at the age of when I had my daughter, so I feel some connection, as we’re both fathers who have had a child in our 40s.
As a Sicilian who lives in Italy this is an amazing video for those who don't know much or anything about Sicily. the facts were correct but the mafia also came up from north Italy and moved to America aka New York many years ago too. (there are still existing there) and Sicily don't really have mafia anymore especially these days
Hi babe
Thanks for the info!
@Starshine Jinzan tbh it is, like everyone thinks sicily is about mafia when yes it may have originated there, but it spread all over Italy and a lot of the older ones moved to America and spread it all there….
@Starshine Jinzan silly? Are you serious?
La mafia c'è sempre purtroppo, non illuderti
Sicily ❤
Thanks, Jason!
Thanks a lot Ed!

I'm flying to Palmero today from. Just a solo traveller. First time solo. Getting a tour guide on Monday to show me around the city.
Good luck!
How was it?

Hi Jason Now I know where you met your dad for his 70 yr old birthday. I am 70 slso in Feb of 2022. Its nice to see you with your family. I know youhad left it as a mystery back in one of your videos. But Happy belated birthday to your dad.
Would recommend a visit to Villa Malfitano for anyone who has the time while there
So beautiful ❤️ and yeah at many points I felt it's Tunisia
I mean sicily is in spitting distance of Tunisia and was conquered by the tunisian for like 2 centuries, so it's accurate
@Starshine Jinzan have you....ever seeing southern spain?

Hi, nice walk, thank you! Could you tell me please, 13.39 what the mountain I see?
You can hear Bachata at 5:08.
He would coincidentally upload his first D.R blogs in the video right after this one.
Nice
My uncle work in Sicily
Don't forget the Greek/Byzantine influences!
Jason, if you are in Palermo you have to call them ArancinA , no arancini! 🥰🤌🏽🤌🏽
So many cringe pronunciations, he needs to do his homework before making a video about "Paluurmo" lol
Happy 70th birthday Mr. Billam!! Today would've been my mother's 70th birthday as well but sadly she passed away last year.

This is a hello from Taiwan again.
Wish you enjoy your trip to your country.
May I know which agents you use often to book your flight around the world?
For flights I use Skyscanner - I don’t book air travel through agents. Cut out the middle man and usually you’ll save money.
@@JasonBillamTravel Thank you for your response.
I use skyscaner also.
Then I only dare to choose the agent I booked ticket before.
Happy birthday for your sweet father
Thanks a lot!
