Mod creator: i hate cheese builds and i made this mod specifically to destroy all cheese buils. Iron Pineapple: 1 hour video of how he cheesed the mod with his friends
It looks like the creator focused on making it hard a bit too many times, like nerfing builds, stats, items, spells, upgrades etc. Most people would be expected to beat it by resorting to some sneaky stuff as not everyone can go and get 3 friends with hundreds of hours to beat a game with
Well now that Iron discovered that mega-tank poise cheese build with Prayerful Strike, the modder will likely nerf that into near irrelevance as well, so what Iron really did was help him find another build to nerf to the ground so people going Co-Op mode can't use it, lol
@@SuperbFairy i mean there are difficulty options so you dont have to rely on cheese if something gets too hard for you, also keep in mind they re on the hardest mode with less players than recommended
I don't know why but this video is my favourite video to date. There's something about it watching IronPineapple playing with friends which is just so entertaining and hearing small amounts of voice coms just want me to be able to watch the whole playthrough they did together. Honestly had a blast watching and seeing this mod, if my pc was good enough I'd for sure try this out and experience this.
Wow, not what I expected to hit my front page today! Thank you so much for the coverage. Powering through Raid Mode is a real achievement, so I'm not sure about all that talk of "not being the best players"! Special thanks for covering all the mod's features and additions in detail, pointing out that the difficulty is a result of your deliberate choices, and the overall positivity you covered the mod with. You've a talent for presenting content and covering its finer points in a fair and distinguishing way. We're a very small team helmed by Kirnifr, with most of the work done by just two of us, and we don't have the resources bigger mod teams have, so I'm glad that you took away so much joy from your playthrough.
Y'all have done some really amazing work. Each change and new addition is so subtle and perfectly integrated, and it feels right at home in the base game. Deflecting makes the entire game more fun, in my opinion, and small things like giving particular knight enemies more health is GREATLY appreciated (the knights are my favorite)
@@Arissi Kirnifr has taken plenty of feedback, he just ignores it when it's people arguing in bad faith or from a position of ignorance (e.g. thinking everything is nerfed because if you look for individual numbers in isolation they've been reduced - there was a post on Nexusmods about the Blue Dancer Charm recently, for example, where all they knew was the maximum boost was reduced from 12.5% to 10% when in fact it's had the falloff smoothed substantially to make it viable for more than just naked Tarnished with daggers).
One of my favorite changes that this mod introduced, is that on the elevator at the Divine Tower of Liurnia. They just...Spawn a Godskin on the elevator. Half way up. When you have no-where to run
That dodging tutorial boss got moved to the Cave of Knowledge tutorial dungeon. They pretty much re-worked that entire dungeon and made the final tutorial boss much cooler.

I love how you can tell just how long this video's been in the making because both Crucible Knight Phantom and the fortunes got changed a while ago. Knight Phantom is now part of an overhauled tutorial and fortunes don't directly reduce stats anymore.
@@20thcentury_toy I understand nerfing it, but it feels like a troll to simply make it not useful at all. Some modders do that sort of thing, and for many of them its to feel superior to their users. I get not wanting people to face roll through your content, 100%, but its not hard to design it and keep it useful somehow.
Man, I genuinely love it when I come across mods that feel like its was created by someone with a true passion and love for the game and its series. Vampire Avalanche was my favorite bit. Giving the finger back to the mod creator who has consistently been taking away or breaking your fun toys throughout the whole thing.
Someone has probably already mentioned it, but I just wanted to mention that Radahn has always been able to do his meteor attack multiple times, it's just fairly rare in the vanilla game.
That Flask change is AMAZING! Like so many multiplayer games have SO FEW meaningful interactions between players. Now having to think where everybody is and what their situation is seems genius.
I think they could still do better. Let the subclass fate things and items change the flask mechanics - larger area, larger percentage gotten by allies, etc etc.
Breaks PVP. Also isn't balanced for solo runs so you'd just have to hope that players figure out on their own that their flasks are worse in co-op. If you summon someone and they run off, it just makes everything even worse (they get buffed health AND your flasks are garbage). Also, it can be hard to coordinate healing each other when you don't have voice chat. Remember, this is a co-op mod. The normal game isn't so co-op focused. They literally have healing incantations for healing allies.
Some of these mechanics are really nice! The added stamina cost for certain abused attacks, the mixup of regen mage attacks and heavy ones and the light dodge! Amazing
This is the best Elden Ring video I've seen. Not only does it showcase an amazing mod, but it's also a great dissection of a lot of Elden Ring's mechanics, and a super fun and at times hilarious playthrough of three absolute madlads suffering cooperatively. Iron Pineapple never misses. 11/10 content
55:40 : that exact reaction to godskin duo in this mode reminds me of like when you finally get to end a raid you’ve been working off with your guild for weeks in WOW
I really like the longform challenge run content videos, always a good time. And just like it was fun for you running it with the boys, it was entertaining wayching you run it with the boys - fun dynamic to see unfold!
I love the change to the flasks! It reminds me of the wide-range skill in monster hunter, which applies item buffs you do to yourself to your friends in a certain range!
as someone who plays the face tank build using Prayerful Strike I find using the Butchering Knife (which is a greataxe) is more useful as its basic attacks heal you as well.
Great video. Man, I love Elden Ring. I really hope they go with a coop experience more akin to the seamless mod for future games, especially if they're going to be open world. This looked like a blast.
This definitely gave me insights...into how to clear Elden Ring in the first place and how a lot of builds work...really interesting. Definitely one of the absolute best playthroughs for a variety of reasons I've seen of Elden Ring!
I think my favorite thing about all this is getting to see all the cool looking spells actually get put to good use. So many are just so situational without a summon tanking the boss for you and this just seems so fun to play!
I like using the Meteoric Ore Blade as an early game Mage weapon. Inherent magic damage and scaling, bleed build up, and the heavy attack slaps real damn hard.
I don't even play Souls Games and just watch your videos 'cause I find them quite entertaining and they give me a small window into the genre. That being said this mod is truely impressive in scale alone. Respect to the team who did this. A true labour of love.
this video was actually so good I struggle to figure out how to make the beginning to my videos entertaining when I'm just explaining stuff but the way it was done here actually gave me the information required to understand what was happening in the video and was entertaining honestly underrated skill some people dont think about but turns out according to my scholars (me) its hard to explain something and be entertaining the whole time
The idea of weapon catalysts feels like such a no-brainer to put in the base game when your look at bosses like Loretta or Rellana. It's a very cool addition for sure
I can't say I'm a fan of a lot of the changes the mod makes, but a lot are pretty cool. Definitely a fresh change in the way you play for the people who want that!
Keep in mind that you can simply do a lower difficulty to get all the fun stuff without the difficulty mode. Its important to remember theyre playing the hardest difficulty which was also ment for 4 people at least.
hell yeah, in reforged I played a greatsword gandalf with a staff and troll knight's sword using FP generating abilities to shoot big spells or to use the greatsword's art, it was so fun
Surprising amount of hate for the mod in these comments despite you repeatedly saying its a great mod and stressing many times that you guys are playing on the highest difficulty that was outright not recommended by the mod creators. Personally I think the mod looks sick, even if there are some changes I disagree with, and the video was fun to watch too!
Coming here, happy to see Seemless CoOp being used, it's such a great mod! It has gone through a BUNCH of changes, like the "everyone teleports together" is gone and there's options to turn off the rot essences. You can even turn Invaders back on! Really a lot has happened. And it works with the DLC. This was yet another awesome video of Iron Pineapple. Usually I am really not into souls games, but Eldenring and your video series make consuming Soulsborne content real, real fun. Awesome video creator!
Already about a dozen hours into this mod. As someone with over 500+ hours in the vanilla game, this has been a refreshing experience for me. I highly reccomend it, even if you dont engage with the difficulty options.
sure, the mod „predicted“ it. it definitly wasnt a mechanic in many other games, including fromsoft games. people like deflecting so the mod maker and fromsoft put it in the game. thats it. people have been talking about something like this in souls games since sekiro.
I like how the entire explanation of the difficulty changes (at 3:25 mark) could be replaced by a video of someone getting his ballsack slowly crushed in a hydraulic press, and the feeling it instills in us viewers, wouldn't change at all.
Something the dlc has been drilling in to my head and watching this futher reinforces it, jumping is completely underrated. There are so many times I see spots where the game clearly wants you to jump instead of dodge roll mostly slam attacks and sweeps. That one mechanic has helped me so freaking much in the dlc fights
I really like how you did the co op in this video normally you can never tell what’s happening because there are 4 guys yelling at the same time and being really obnoxious great job making co op videos enjoyable
i like how shortly after reading, "i decided to take the cheese strats out for this mod" you then accidently cheesed a boss and then purposely cheesed one. human nature is a thing that doesnt react well to being told: "no" also, nerfing comet azur to the point of actual uselessness seems unreasonable. making it like that one magma incantation by perhaps drastically reducing the damage it does at longer ranges, forcing you to actually engage a nearby and very agressive enemy for a moderately long time to get that damage in... as opposed to getting your stamina bar immediately dumpstered from less than a second of firing
Hard agree on that nerf. I’ve yet to see a challenge mod that doesn’t just nuke the stuff that’s too strong instead of actually trying to make it balanced. It always puts a sour taste in my mouth because a mod can be amazing and then do this to a OP thing and it shows me that they don’t care enough to try and make it work and just take the easy way out. After thinking about it for a minute I think an interesting change would be to shorten its range a good bit but split it into a cone instead of a straight line(and probably nerf the damage). This would make it so it’s still a strong option but just against enemy groups or dual bosses instead of the single targets, BUT if you really want that big chunk of damage you’d have to stand close to melee range to make all of the split beams still hit the boss. I think that'd be a super fun way to give it less overall power while still maintaining usefulness-just in a different way- while giving a more risk/reward playstyle.
nah, comet azur is impossible to balance. Any nerf you apply will break it to being god awful. Its a fundamentally terrible spell since its either always going to do too much damage, no damage, or take too long. If you reduce the casting time its just a glorified shard spiral and if you make it cost hp its damage numbers vanish and if you try to balance it with less damage its just still going to be a worse night comet. Its objectively a terribly designed spell that only works if its cast time is shortened and damage nerfed by around 18% Even then that would also require all the magic damage nerfs to make even a little sense.
I kinda hate that their solution to "cheese builds" is to completely nuke their use like comet azur being practically useless because of that stamina cost on top of the other nerfs
If you level endurance, you have more stamina. I don't know why Iron Pineapple declared it "much less useful", stamina is crazy useful even without it affecting equip load; the more of it you have, the more you can chain together dodges and counterattacks without needing to resort to skill-intensive moves like parries and deflects. It also scales the regen, since that's percentage-based.
@thomaswinwood yeah duh but needing to dedicate thousands and thousands of runes just to USE THE SPELL on top of all the other nerfs is ridiculous. They completely ruined it
@@thomaswinwoodenough things were already nerfed or changed in order for the comet to not be anywhere as useful as in the base game. The stacking damage buff, bosses are more aggressive and seem quicker so they will probably not just stand in the beam, boss HP in the raid mode is so ridiculously high that they can just tank the spell and their damage is also so high that they will probably just one shot you during the cast. There was no need to tie the beam lifespan to stamina to nerf it to the ground. Yes stamina is useful however leveling it up eats lots of runes, runes that could be put to better use.
@@thomaswinwood which is one of the least impactful stats after the changes mind you. regardless, there were already enough nerfs tot everything that made the spell cheese that the spell itslef could have been left alone
Considering the volcanic spell that the mod added can basically do the same it makes even less sense. Cool mod but this mode seemed a bit dumb fundamentally. I could see it being fun with some friends even with all the no fun allowed changes though.
If I'm not mistaken, those color swaps are that way cuz they utilize the system that paints you green or red when rolling in the swamp. Clever honestly
It feels so satisfying to see the Leonine Misbegotten actually holding the weapons you get from them when you beat them. I have no idea why the base game doesn't implement that. Also, I love that no matter the mod, cheesing O'Neil has become a tradition on this channel.
There is a special difficulty option called Hybrid that allows you to play with the full Hard AI changes AND raid mode movesets solo if you want. It gives you some stat buffs of your own to make it not completely impossible.
Never played Elden Ring but a great video and was such a relief when you beat a boss you were struggling against! God knows how you 3 felt when you did it, but must have been euphoric!
Learning to jump over Radahn's gravity wave attacks and perfect deflect his ranged attackes were awesome moments for me and I'm sad you guy's missed them.
What I never fully get is: Challenge runners are people who want to challenge their skills to a higher degree by adding difficulty. Cool I understand that. Mastering things feels good. But why are challenge runners then the ones that constantly cheese Bosses & situations? Isn't this the antithesis of what you're trying to do? Why play on higher difficulties if you then won't engage with the mechanics that were made more difficult? Like to take this run as an example I currently watched till Rhadan and for essentially every Boss they had difficulty with the solution didn't seem to be "so we learned the Boss found a strategy and overcame it" but "so we cheesed it by making it bug out!" I don't mind people cheesing but I really don't understand why challenge runners like the 3 here do it... Like don't get me wrong these guys seem to have put in the work and earned the W of beating the mod. I just don't understand the contradiction of "I love how Rhadan feels like a real raid boss now" and then not angaging with that by going "so we got him to bug into the water yay" Isn't that contradictory? 🤔🤔
Iron Pineapple isn't really a challenge runner - his normal thing is trying out the goofy stuff people put up on Steam under the Soulslike tag, this is just a side gig he does occasionally. His default, as seen in the videos he made when Elden Ring first came out, is cheese.
Not sure if anybody commented this already, but the flasks healing your friends was a mechanic in dark souls 1 for your co-op summons! I’m not sure if it healed the NPC summons but players were not able to use their own estus flasks and therefore relied on the host or just used humanity to full heal.
Its the harder difficulty that he picked that makes some of these changes actually an issue, without it you still are going to disintegrate bosses. Don't worry about it too much
Every time a hard-mode mod was released, Iron Pineapple would be like, "Me, a mere unskilled mortal!" "I can't possibly take on this challenge......" We won't be fooled, sir.
Yeah, either From had a bunch of the same ideas or they took inspiration from mods. Their implementations are generally worse, though - five minutes of deflects as a physick tear is less interesting than it being a basic mechanic, their unlockable spiritsprings involve no combat and can be cheesed with the goddamn shackles again, and Reforged has much better weapon catalysts.
Even though I'm not playing in these videos *gestures to all of your videos* I feel like part of the team. You do a really great job of having fun with your friends but not leaving us as the viewers out of the jokes or meaningful moments! Subscribed (surprised I wasn't already) and thankful for this content.

Good work guys!! Fromsoft might as well take some ideas from your mod 🔥
Yep that's me!@@MudkipMan97
did i get it right, when reading through the wiki: you can play this mod without increased difficulty, no even better, even switch to a lower one?
Mod creator: i hate cheese builds and i made this mod specifically to destroy all cheese buils.
Iron Pineapple: 1 hour video of how he cheesed the mod with his friends
pine: and i took that personally
It looks like the creator focused on making it hard a bit too many times, like nerfing builds, stats, items, spells, upgrades etc. Most people would be expected to beat it by resorting to some sneaky stuff as not everyone can go and get 3 friends with hundreds of hours to beat a game with
@@SuperbFairy but its the co-op mode. If you dont have co-ops, dont play co-op mode
I love how their solution to Astel being resistent against elemental damage is they all start hitting him with rocks.
its revenge for the ones with Ainsel river
As Radahn intended
Kirnifr needs to learn to take feedback

When you have no-where to run
yeah no hard pass. I'm tired of getting disrespected by modmakers.
I love that fight. It scared the shit out of me my first time getting to it but it's luckily not that hard.
That dodging tutorial boss got moved to the Cave of Knowledge tutorial dungeon. They pretty much re-worked that entire dungeon and made the final tutorial boss much cooler.

This is the 1st time I felt soo engage in a video. I was like constantly cheering for you guys to do it and glad you guys did!
Awesome content as always!
I've been binging all of your Elden Ring videos and you're by far my favorite creator for this type of content. Editing is smooth and never over-the-top while articulating everything so well. Great work man, looking forward to more!
This feels like watching a live action DnD campaign of sorts. Really enjoyed the video.
I love how you can tell just how long this video's been in the making because both Crucible Knight Phantom and the fortunes got changed a while ago. Knight Phantom is now part of an overhauled tutorial and fortunes don't directly reduce stats anymore.
calling the comet azur nerf “reeled in a bit” is hilarious. looks more like “out back with a shotgun” to me
It would be better to just remove the spell at that point
Comet Azur isn't even good in the base game
@@20thcentury_toy I understand nerfing it, but it feels like a troll to simply make it not useful at all. Some modders do that sort of thing, and for many of them its to feel superior to their users. I get not wanting people to face roll through your content, 100%, but its not hard to design it and keep it useful somehow.
@@Haka-f3k-u I think a way to balance it would be by making the spell cost hp as well as fp
It's still pretty strong if you have stamina for it.
Man, I genuinely love it when I come across mods that feel like its was created by someone with a true passion and love for the game and its series. The tweaks that fit perfectly into gameplay, the little additions to the map and balancing fixes; you can really tell the mod knew this game inside and out and its user base. I just love to see passionate and talented people make mods for the game series they know inside and out; they always bring so much to the table
yeah but this just feels like a sweaty tryhard cried because people where allowed to use anything but a strength mash r1 build and got pissy enough to make a mod for it.
@@MsMoonDragoon Dude… what are you talking about?
@@MsMoonDragoonNo? The mod is specifically so extremely hard because they're purposefully playing on an overturned setting meant for more people, the mod itself is super well designed
Congratulations on beating this challenge. I'm lousy at games like this, but I love the aesthetics and lore and seeing someone go through them in such a unique fashion is a thrill.
Just yesterday i though pineapple guy is missing for sometime now, and here you are today. Literally made me cheer up.😁
going back to the original builds was so strangely poetic to me
This is hands down the best Elden Ring video I’ve watched. Even my favorite vids from my favorite streamer LilAggy don’t come close to this. Everything is just perfect about it, both the gameplay and the narrative. Well done, Pine. The wait was completely worth it.
16:49 i love the check-in about how everyone is going, making sure ppl are still having fun and not burning out too bad, hope you guys took enough breaks cause this seems brutal.
Vampire Avalanche was my favorite bit. Giving the finger back to the mod creator who has consistently been taking away or breaking your fun toys throughout the whole thing.
just a heads up, endurance also increases stamina regen as a tradeoff for weight. also weight can be increased with talismans or fortunes ^^
It reminds me a bit of healing powder in monster hunter. Which I love. I really hope more games will add multiplayer mechanics like this
This really reminds me of DS1 where your phantoms didn't have flasks and you needed to heal them by drinking your own. Such a nice throwback
@@uberculex Fuck pvp, this is how you actually make co-op hard. Not "here's a random chance for dingle mcdongle to invade, have fun fucker"
Love your long vids with Raz and Yakko. I’ve rewatched the Remnant 2 one like 3 times. This was just as good
Some of these mechanics are really nice! The added stamina cost for certain abused attacks, the mixup of regen mage attacks and heavy ones and the light dodge! Amazing
A quarter of this video was just you explaining how the mod works, I love it ❤ so happy to have a new video!!
Some of these changes would actually be really good in the base game. Like the Bloodbourne dodge when you have a light equip load sounds awesome!
And some are pure garbage, like the Endurance/weight changes
@@kalebdavis7080 I'm curious. Why are they garbage?
@@babulbi Capping Carry Weight to only 100 and not letting you increase it with leveling endurance limits what you can use at one time.
@@kalebdavis7080 Yeah, that's the point. Doesn't mean its better or worse, just differently balanced.

Awesome to see more Elden Ring content, just re-watched some of your old challenge videos of the game and got me into starting a new playthrough again
Jesus this isn’t just a mod, this is like a whole new game. Wild and crazy talented from the creator.
Weaponized autism is a hell of a drug.
Such an amazing, high quality video! It was fun to watch you guys play together. You are all really good at working as a team!
29:05 Straight out of Monster Hunter. That flight looks so cool!
I thought the same thing it's totally teostra
This is the best Elden Ring video I've seen.
Not only does it showcase an amazing mod, but it's also a great dissection of a lot of Elden Ring's mechanics, and a super fun and at times hilarious playthrough of three absolute madlads suffering cooperatively.
Iron Pineapple never misses. 11/10 content
This was a total delight all the way through. Incredible problem solving and creativity!!! The Godskin Duo finish had my jaw ON THE FLOOR 😱
55:40 : that exact reaction to godskin duo in this mode reminds me of like when you finally get to end a raid you’ve been working off with your guild for weeks in WOW
The way you tell the stories of your trials and tribulations is so entertaining. Your thought process is awesome. Lovely video
I really like the longform challenge run content videos, always a good time. And just like it was fun for you running it with the boys, it was entertaining wayching you run it with the boys - fun dynamic to see unfold!
Finally, I've been waiting for you to do more Elden Ring again. These are really entertaining.
17:30 I believe this is because Torrent is a spirit and therefore isnt affected by poison and blood.

I love how you come of with these crazy solutions for this run. 10 outta 10
BTW, Radahn can do his meteor attack multiple times in the base game. He usually does it a second time after a set amount of time.
So freaking AWESOME! ❤
I'm really out of the loop on the mods, they're getting more and more amazing!
I was hoping for more content!
I was rewatching your stuff recently so I'm very glad to see an upload on Elden Ring
this is actually one of the best Elden ring challenges i've seen. great vid
Crazy how half the mechanics in this mod became a thing in the DLC
Explain
Even when the whole world denies you cheese, mimic tear got your back.
Have you seen DinoBlade? Would love to see you make a video on it once it has a playable build.
Lol the spam of block disabling perfect blocks is hilarious
hell yeah, in reforged I played a greatsword gandalf with a staff and troll knight's sword using FP generating abilities to shoot big spells or to use the greatsword's art, it was so fun
Return of the Keebler gang
I highly reccomend it, even if you dont engage with the difficulty options.
thank you!

Not 100% match, but the concept is still there! Sweet
Crazy that this mod predicted the Deflect tear in the dlc
sure, the mod „predicted“ it. it definitly wasnt a mechanic in many other games, including fromsoft games. people like deflecting so the mod maker and fromsoft put it in the game. thats it. people have been talking about something like this in souls games since sekiro.

"if you are ever in the mood to replay ER" 😂 like i dont have 1k hours already :))
i like how shortly after reading, "i decided to take the cheese strats out for this mod" you then accidently cheesed a boss and then purposely cheesed one. human nature is a thing that doesnt react well to being told: "no"
also, nerfing comet azur to the point of actual uselessness seems unreasonable. making it like that one magma incantation by perhaps drastically reducing the damage it does at longer ranges, forcing you to actually engage a nearby and very agressive enemy for a moderately long time to get that damage in... as opposed to getting your stamina bar immediately dumpstered from less than a second of firing
Also, I love that no matter the mod, cheesing O'Neil has become a tradition on this channel.
this makes me want a fromsoft mmo
To Pineapple brain.
Torrent is immune to poison and rot because spirits are immune to poison and rot. It makes perfect sense.
Wake up babe, new Iron Pineapple video dropped!
Penny's Big Breakaway music is already showing up in UA-cam videos, nice!
Not sure if anybody commented this already, but the flasks healing your friends was a mechanic in dark souls 1 for your co-op summons! I’m not sure if it healed the NPC summons but players were not able to use their own estus flasks and therefore relied on the host or just used humanity to full heal.
Early in the video, however, it seems like heavy armour got way too nerfed if it mandates fat rolls but isn't giving more benefits
The defense is improved significantly on heavy armor and heavy load rolling now just has less i-frames than med load, no longer fat rolling.
Its the harder difficulty that he picked that makes some of these changes actually an issue, without it you still are going to disintegrate bosses. Don't worry about it too much
Every time a hard-mode mod was released, Iron Pineapple would be like, "Me, a mere unskilled mortal!" "I can't possibly take on this challenge......"
We won't be fooled, sir.
okay.. Am I seeing things or is a LOT OF THE MOD STUFF ACTUALLY IN THE DLC!?
Yeah, either From had a bunch of the same ideas or they took inspiration from mods. Their implementations are generally worse, though - five minutes of deflects as a physick tear is less interesting than it being a basic mechanic, their unlockable spiritsprings involve no combat and can be cheesed with the goddamn shackles again, and Reforged has much better weapon catalysts.
Even though I'm not playing in these videos *gestures to all of your videos* I feel like part of the team. You do a really great job of having fun with your friends but not leaving us as the viewers out of the jokes or meaningful moments!
