The time has come I pulled the plug on a 2019 Honda CRF450L now getting a full system Yoshimura RS4 Exhaust to make it bark, its sooo loud now... enjoy the off road enduro street wheelie shenanigans! 2019 CRF450L Specs -
The dual-sporting public has been waiting for this machine ever since KTM blew up the world with its dirt-oriented street-legal machines. The new Honda 450L features a twin-spar aluminum frame, full Showa suspension, electric start and fuel injection. They call it a true trail-to-trail machine. To meet the EPA regs, Honda fit it with a catalytic muffler and technology that keep it quiet and legal. The one drawback is it ain’t no lightweight.
Best to get “auto-tune” or have it tuned on a dyno with the outside air temp at the average for your location. Auto-tune is awesome.

Power commander comes with map for a stock bike. Need to get the right map for the full yoshimura. Cant use Mac for dynojet either. Has to be Windows

The dynojet didnt even do anything to your bike yet. They come with a stock tune for whatever bike your putting it on. The tunes probably slightly different thats why you can feel the difference but try that yoshi tune or contact them directly and they can make you a custom tune for your needs. Or take it to a real dynojet tuner.

Dynojet Auto Tune is O2 sensor replacement. Giving you correct fuel mapping in seconds!
Correction for all modifications, exhaust intake etc.

I realized I do the exact same thing, I call it the Calculator Clear Button Reassurance Effect, basically its just in some people's human nature to ensure that what they are selecting actually happens, its redundancy
You should get an over sized gas tank for the enduro/super moto
I'm not a big fan of those tuners cause they just trick the system to add more fuel. The vertex ecu is easier to install and it just replaces the stock ecu. They're months out though. When I get my 450l I'm getting a vertex.

When you got someone on a tube, you do a double up or even a triple up. You gas it a little and turn around and go through your own wake, which will double in size. A huge ramp of water pops up in front of them and sends them flying. The double up is beautiful if done right.
More air means leaner mixture so.pretty sure tuner did richen it but you might of made it lean again by leaving filter cover off. Really not sure if it makes a difference or not though. But makes sense that it would suck more fuel if cover was on. Like putting your hand over a vacuum
The engine will only take in so much air regardless, without forced induction. So I don't think it made much of a difference. But I'm not an engineer either so I could be wrong 😅.

Just ordered full FMF powercore 4 with vortex from CRF's Only. I'm so freaking pumped. I've been stunting the bike with stock everything and it's sooooooo sketchy hahah
If you put your air box lid on it will probably stop backfiring it sounds lean my recommendation is to put it back on or Tune it richer to get full power
Nice video! This is a very similar build to what I'm doing with my 450l
You can also turn the choke wheel thingy COUNTER clockwise and it will turn your idle up and wont stall anymore, turn it clockwise and it stalls it out. Didn't know if you knew that or not

7:54 you have should start it with the Fast Idle Knob pulled out... it always starts immediately on 1st try and never dies

Try a re chipped ecu aswell, you can get them tuned for any aftermarket power parts and bump up the rev limiter a bit aswell

You should be able to change the cam out for one from a 450R and get the real power from that 450

Stock ecu is shutting off injector pulse on decel, piggyback tuner will help somewhat. Get yourself a vortex ecu, it changes everything and takes 5 minutes to install

its crazy how just a power commander can make all the difference. without a tune even in it just letting it run and trick the closed loop system to fix the afr's. my 450 used to stall constantly and almost made me get rid of a brand new bike because of how frustrating it was just to start and ride in traffic. i feel like they needed to pull this bike and fix alot after the first sales found so many issues.

@@blixxy1320 i live in jersey and the 450L still did it. they were just a bad first year bike and needed a tuner on them to make it rideable and even than its not raw power like you expect from a 450
@@1up_doug yeah theyre 50 state legal which means the emissions have to pass cali regulations too. I live in texas and ima have to deal with that bs but it is what it is. And how's the power commander? there's been people in forums saying they went from the pc5 to vortex and it was much better. im just trying to price everything out beforehand
the best thing you can do imo with something like that is get it to someone with a bike dyno and have a custom tune done specifically for your bike

My dad can tow u behind our boat and go 88 mph on a tube... btw it is a bass boat. It is a 100 mph+ boat. But with all of the gear we get about 87.5

Just something I wouldn't do tab the end of the gas nozzle to your tank I have seen fires in ways you couldn't believe the biggest one was throwing a bunch of 9 volt batteries together in a box for storage and they start a fire you always have to tape the ends of those LOL

Why does it stall so easily? Is that normal for modern 450s? Also... Don't they offer a O2 sensor or something.... That mount on the exhaust somewhere and automatically adjust fuel air mixture... Like on a car...

£3.71 to fill up the CRF450l converted from dollars, in the UK it costs £9.51 to fill the tank, think we are all getting scammed here in the UK, $11.71 equivalent
Here in the UK tax on fuel is much higher than in the USA so it's way more expensive, it costs my friend 6 pounds to fill his 125 up about 1/3 of the tank lol

The vortex is the only option for the 450L
Looking for recommendations on what tuner to get. I have heard the jd tuner is good and the cheapest between the dynojet and vortex. Question is why is it so much cheaper?
How do I get the front reflectors off?? Do I need a special torque wrench? I don’t want to mess up the bottom pinch bolts/forks lol
I just picked up a 2022 450X... I'm interested in this tuner you put installed.... I only have 5 miles on my bike but I can tell it's got the "flame-out" issue with stalling, and the "lean" characteristics on start up.... did you ever get it all dialed in and running good?

Yeah, it's essentially a de-tuned 450R motor with longer gear ratios and a LITTLE bit lower compression ratio. Still need to do the valve adjustment etc as you would a race bike.
