I love how mature this show is compared to other vampire shows it’s so mature like in comparison to you guys watching the vampire diaries which has more goofy moments I’m enjoying these reactions
Exactly!! I’ve never really understood the hype around vampire shows cuz I always found them childish in a way but after watching iwtv I became obsessed, "what we do in the shadows" is great too
@@malakelabbadi04 its interesting these two, interview with the vampire and wwdits, are my favorite vampire media now, and they are like the opposite sides of the spectrum hah:D
something in between those that i also love would be "Dracula" on netflix (but by bbc i think?) so i recommend that one too, it's just three episodes series:)
I mean it depends on who the market audience is for the books... The vampire diaries books are for like teens pretty much... Whereas the True blood books or The interview with the vampire books are both marketed towards adults... So it makes sense that there's more mature scenes and storylines in those two adaptations.
Vampirism brought Louis power, but he still faces more prejudice within human society than Lestat. The writers do a good job showing the difference between their individual vampire experiences.
Great reaction as always....... The show is portraying the characters exactly as Anne Rice wrote them in the first book.... Lestat is a "monster"...... The set up is intense and deliberate. Sets the tone. ...........and us, up perfectly. Louis will always be, as Anne describes him through Lestat's words..... "The most human of all us Vampires". Thanks again for your efforts. I always enjoy my time here.
I haven't read the books, but if the story is told from Louis's POV, how do we know he is a reliable narrator? I like in the show that the interviewer asks that and looks through secondary sources to confirm Louis's story... does the books?
@V_4_Versace The 2nd and 3rd books are from Lestats' point of view, and things are a bit different
@@V_4_Versace You are intelligent. Anne saw that Lestat was her "muse". She tells his side of the story in her next book. Devotes a full chapter on the differences he and Louis had about the events in the first book. Changes the dynamic completely. And gave her the material to write at least a dozen other Vampire Chronicle books.
@@V_4_Versace the second book is in lestats pov and we know for a fact louis is an unreliable narrator lmao
@@donny1960 ahhh I love that! I always thought Louis came off a little too perfect and Lestat a bit too evil in his retelling of events, I would love to see the show also cover Lestat’s POV to see the differences.
lestat wears a beautiful red flag dress, he's terrifying but with class lol
Lestat be like 💃🏼
Everything's brutally beautiful in this show, but one of my favourite things is the fantastic soundtrack that adds SO much to the scenes! Glad you're enjoying!
Perfect way to describe this show. Brutally beautiful.
12:22 LMAO I love how everyone has that reaction while watching that scene
8:11 yeah that's Daniel's brand 😅😂
we'll see more vampires guys, this season I consider it a family horror drama, so it focuses a lot on they explosive relationship and Louis' difficulty in dealing with his new nature, now with s2 coming so soon it will be even better, because they complement each other since the story was divided and everything gets much bigger and chaotic as the story progresses...
This is why you guys are the best. This show is so good, season 2 comes out May 12th
Thank you, Bryce! Thank you, Rob! 🧛♀ Alan Taylor directed this episode.
I'm so excited for y'all to react to this show, it's sooo good and kind of underrated!
I’ve never clicked so fast 😂
IWTV FANS! The guys are posting these quickly - so check their channel often in the coming week - you don't want to miss an episode!
season 2 is gonna be insane! i just wish Zuff could be watching with you guys, he always comes up with some crazy comments that crack me up lol
I need that Damon shirt - love it rob!
Tough week at work, so I really appreciate two reactions! This made my evening.
Shame on Louis' mum for blaming him for Paul's death when she KNEW how troubled he was. I disliked her immensely. I also think it's funny how Lestat was upset that Louis killed that racist man bc according to him, ppl would miss him. Yet, he had no problems killing two catholic priests.
Yes, Paul had an undiagnosed mental illness. FYI - The man Louis killed was an attorney to the wealthy businessman in the area. Lestat explained that people would assume the priests were killed because they were kid fiddlers, so the police wouldn’t look too closely at their deaths.
People would miss him, as in they would notice and investigate and find a paper trail far easier than with the priests. Vampires need to keep under the radar to avoid the torches and pitchforks.
it only gets crazier fr
oh and thank you Rob and Bryce for pulling the weight even with zuff being absent, you guys have some amazing work ethic 🥰
hope zuff gets better soon
13:41 I'm obsessed with Lestat 😂
I can't wait for these reactions!!
loving these!!
Love your fresh takes on the show and story
Really glad I just found this channel!
I read this in the 80s and most the following novels.
My favorite, by far, is the fourth book, The Tale Of The Body Thief.
This adaptation is much closer to the first novel, than the awful 1993 movie.
RIP Anne Rice.
This series is nothing like the books, but I still like it as its own thing. Anne Rice approved of the series before she died and said she was happy someone was adapting her work as openly gay like she had intended
Your faces in the thumbnail 😂 I’m dead.
I love Zuff. But I’m actually glad he’s not in this reaction. You guys can focus on the seriousness without his out of pocket confusing comments that work in some other shows but not in others.
Yeah, he's funny but I notice they sometimes miss stuff cuz of random stuff he says
This is such a great series!
yeaaaah so excited for this
Good reaction!🤠
Poor Fox 🦊 😢 that was hard to watch
Oh god the baby scene had my stomach churning. It was giving me Mother! Movie level anxiety
When you finish you should watch the film.
yessss
Hearing the tenor sing was indeed painful but he didn't deserve that harsh of punishment. 😬
It's a good thing vampires don't just burst into flames in this universe, Louis wouldn't have made it back to Lestat.
❤❤
Boys you gotta watch the Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst movie asap
Maybe not asap cos it will cover stuff from season 2 but they should be safe once s2 is done.
It’s a good (heck great) film but they started with the show so they shouldn’t spoil themselves through other adaptions.
Will be interesting to hear all their thoughts on what works better in each version
Hello guys. I want to recommend you find a way to react to The Mayfair Witches, AMC is trying to make this 2 shows part of a connected Universe. Although it will take a couple os season for that to happen. Both of this are adapted from books by Anne Rice.
The ending of this episode was so dark and cruel.
So Twilight Vampires are not the normal archetype of what vampires are. Vampires normally have the same abilities, they just gain them as they get older.
Please read Fledgling by Octavia E Butler! It’s a vampire book and I think y’all would like it!
I wonder if they think Damon Salvatore has done less evil things than Lestat De Lionourt. Because in TVD reaction, they kept believing Damon would turn good at some point but they don't seem to have that same optimistic view for Lestat at all.
Tbf, Damon despite his evil has good moments, Lestat is charming, he makes everyone around him love him but purely as a predator, he is unapologetic in anything he does, he victim blames, plays the victim, gaslight, manipulates and never feels remorse for it, you see that right in these 2 episodes, he comes off very charming but its just a mask.
I've seen people recommend True Blood and I concur. Although I don't know how you would feel about starting another multiple seasons vampire show.
in my head louis killed the baby. we know he is an unreliable narrator and we also never get to see benjamin again, only the twins.
Louis can not be trusted so it wouldn’t surprise me if he actually did kill the baby
This sure ain't vampire diaries now is it? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Zuff is sick. They're not doing the usual shows until he gets better.
Ohhhhhhh😂 I came here wondering what happened to TVD
the goriest vampire movie I have seen has to be 30 days of night. I recommend giving that a watch!
Not really a Marvel movie…both characters are bad and good.🤷🏽♀️
How is it only and always you guys who have a knack for misinterpreting everything every time
No they did not go to France
Obviously lestat means Louis' personality has no equal
I've watched literally every other reaction to this and no one has misinterpreted obvious things so badly
Where is the vampire diaries??
Zuff is sick so they are unable to follow their usual schedule. That's why only Rob & Bryce are watching an unplanned show. They announced this via YT and Patreon.
Why is everyone comparing this show to the TVD in these comment sections? Yeah, they both have a vampire premise but that's it. The shows are very very different, made by different companies and in different decades like wtf
and I am sorry but just because this show has gore and explicit nudity doesn't make it automatically better. I would understand if people said that it somewhat explores the themes of racism, abuse or inequality etc but just because a head got squashed????
There's literally no reason to compare the shows, they were made for different audiences based on VASTLY different source materials.
and btw anne rice is a great author and created a very interesting universe but she also wrote some really fucked up shit that i'm surprised even got published (mayfair witches im looking at you)
sorry had to get it out of my system
they are probably being compared because reel time is also watching the vampire diaries at the same time. so it's an easy comparison to make. and an interesting comparison to make since they are both in the vampire genre regardless ...
You answered your own question. TVD is the only other vampire show that they’re watching on this channel, so it makes sense to compare and contrast the two. But comparing the two shows doesn’t automatically mean that they are alike in every way, that they were created during the same decade or by the same company, and so on. The point of comparing is literally to identify things that ARE the same and things that are different. Period.
This comment is bizarrely confrontational without reason.
Well the thing is this show does explore themes of racism and abuse, I haven't seen TVD and I don't know what people are saying about it but this show explores those themes, that is a fact.
