Ah Claudia, the Vampire who established the troupe of "CHILD VAMPIRES SHOULD NOT BE A THING!" really great character.
Claudia is essentially self harming with what she did at the end there. That's how I read the scene anyway
It’s obvious
I love that y’all haven’t seen the original and had no idea who Claudia was. Makes it so much better that y’all don’t know what to expect!
this was also my experience and its so fun
it’s honestly better that way
@@gleelovable yea imo it makes it so u cant compare it to anything else and rly just enjoy it
This was my favorite new show of 2022 and I'm so glad they're finally reacting to it.
With that said, I hope they don't watch the movie until after watching Season 2!!
Claudia's presence basically unravels Louis and Lestat's toxic dynamic mainly because she asks all the right questions due to being young and inquisitive. Lestat is secretive about the Vampire world not just to control his family dynamic but because what he knows about it could actually put them all in danger.
In the Vampire Chronicles, Claudia is actually five because Anne Rice's own daughter died at age five and she wanted to create an immortal child character. The show shifts the timeline, because Louis was converted in 1791 in the books and Claudia in 1794.
the books are even worse because imagine a 5 year old girl telling you she's an adult who wants to have s 3 x. Anne Rice's books are FULL of disgusting things like that.
claudia adds so much to the story/the characters, i love her sm
hearing y’all’s prediction was hilarious. i was like, “y’all don’t even have the faintest idea how far out y’all are” 🤣🤣🤣
Love that Claudia’s diaries offer a different narrator and call the accuracy of Louis version of events into question
no, they didn't kill Jonah. louis mentions seeing him several decades later.
claudia my fav character my babygirl
Such a fun episode! Claudia creates a really interesting dynamic in the household. Props to the actress and writing staff. The show really captured Claudia's aging process while keeping her looking exactly the same.
Thank you again for watching this show! 🤩
A friend of mine pointed out how different naive Claudia from this episode and jaded Claudia from the end of the season are. I had seen it, but not seen the two right next to each other. Such a difference! Very well acted.
In the 1993 movie, Claudia is portrayed by Kirsten Dunst (aged 10) in her very first film role.
and this is why we should not baby-trapping our s.o. to "save" our relationship
Claudia is such a great addition to the show really adds a lot to Louis and lestats relationship loving the reactions
That's why this show is great on so many different levels. It's not just a horror story. I think it's improved on the book.
This show is such a great adaptation from the original source material. It honors the story but adds layers and nuance. Love the Claudia character. Love Lestat and Luis as characters
I LOVE that you’re going into this blind and knew nothing about Claudia. I’m having so much fun with your reactions and hope you’ll do season 2 as well when it comes out!
Bailey Bass as Claudia is absolutely amazing especially in the last 3 episodes. It's great to see see people react to the show that don't know what happens in the story.
It makes me sad she was recast. But the new Claudia could be good?
@@Stephaniefarrah Yeah, I'm also sad that she left the production but she was cast in The Avatar movies and so you gotta jump on that Avatar movie money, you know? So like I understand why she left but also it makes me sad because... Claudia's story isn't as long as Lestats and Louis', as we know. So she COULD have played it to its entirety... But yeah, she just got a more lucrative job opportunity, unfortunately.
@@Stephaniefarrah The actress seems good from what I've seen, so I'm optimistic so far. Bailey Bass played her very well, and very believable as both naive and jaded, so it's hard following her, but I have no reason to think Delainey Hayles won't be able to.
It's interesting to me that Delainey in real like looks a lot like Bailey as Claudia, from pictures from interviews etc, but in the show Delainey looks very different, I wonder if that's just the make up, or camera or something, or even if it's on purpose.
I love how fast you guys are up loading these videos 😊
Love Claudia! I really appreciate how complex these characters are. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to be turned at such an odd time in a girl’s life. Forever a teen 🥴
YESS CANT BELIEVE YALL DID THIS SHOW I LOVE IT HEREEE
I went into this series mostly blind because I haven't read the books and only watched parts of the movie. I did know Claudia was a child though and not a potential love interest for Louis. Him saying My Claudia could mean a lover but it also makes sense for a daughter.
Jonah was not killed. He saw Louis years later when he was old and Louis was still young.
I’m still so surprised and happy you guys are watching this show! Def my fave of the last few years, and my fave book series growing up. You have some great observations for sure
In the book Claudia's only 5 yrs old.
This show is so different than the books, but I really enjoy it as its own thing. Claudia is iconic in every version.
Claudia Claudia Claudia, one of the best characters
I heard your hearts dancing!
I hope Zuff catches up so you can all watch the new season together
i hope y’all watch the movie! but it’ll cover what happens in season 2 of the series so y’all might wanna wait, though its also quite different so idk.
Great reaction! Love this show! The movie is one of my favorite movies. You should definitely react to that once this is done. Young Kirsten Dunts is Claudia and every time I see it I think she should have been nominated for an Oscar
Kirsten Dunsts was amazing as Claudia!
These reactions are great since you're going into it without knowing anything. It's so fun to watch lol
you guys should really watch the trailers for s2 now that you're done with season 1!
Anne Rice also wrote The Feast of All Saints, which was turned into a TV movie in 2001. It's about the gens de couleur libres, or free people of color, who lived in New Orleans before the Civil War. The gens de couleur libres were the descendants of European settlers of Louisiana, particularly the French and Spanish and people of African descent. I haven't seen it, but it's one of my favorite Anne Rice novels. The Witching Hour is my favorite and that was also made into a series like this one, just a couple short seasons. It takes place in the same universe as this one. I haven't seen that one either, but I'd be interested in hearing opinions from anyone who's watched it. Years ago I got TWH on tape and it left out all the history and focused solely on the present time part of the story. The history is the best part. I was so mad I threw it in the garbage. 🙄😆
Apparently there's going to be a third based on the Talamasca.
I've loved the 'Mayfair Chronicles' since they were first published. And have been waiting decades for an adaptation. The show is good. I enjoyed it. As long as you go in knowing that it is its' own thing. Two things to realize beforehand; IWTV set the bar pretty high and they had to make some pretty big changes to 'The Witching Hour'. Namely leaving out most of the lore (so far, at least. Julien Mayfair will be a major character in the new season!) - because of all the incest and rape in the novel. But they still managed to keep the mood and atmosphere of the book.
@@7n154 I'll have to check it out.
Many thanks to Bryce and Rob! 🧛♀ The title is word-for-word from the novel (as I recall). 🔸 Keith Powell directed this episode.
Ep 5 next….. iykyk
If this show were a rollercoaster, this episode is the apex right before the ride really begins. And there are only 7 episodes this season, so buckle in.
So fun and interesting seeing you both guessing about the plot. You're gonna love it even more as it goes!
I understand wanting to save Claudia but turning a child into a vampire might not be the best idea.
Claudia is the MVP!!!
They were a happy little family🥲
yall want lestat gone so bad lmaoooo every episode you're hoping louis frees himself it's hilarious
Awesome reaction of my favorite episode of Interview With The Vampire!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
My favorite show
season 2 comes out very soon, hope you react to it!
I simply cannot wait for you to watch ep 5
Claudiaaaa🥺🥺🥺
In this version, Claudia was turned at 14 years old.
Please, please, please, post episode five tomorrow.
❤❤
Will you guys be watching season 2 ?
When are we getting ATLA ?? 😭😭
I can't stand Claudia. This episode she goes from likable to annoying. In the book, she is only 6yo, here she's 15. I had sympathy for the book version but aging her hurts the character. It looks like season 2 is still going to be based on the 1st book. Once the series is done with the first book, I wonder how they plan to include the rest of the books.
how? she’s a teenager experiencing teenage emotions for decades. it must be traumatising
they added a new layer to her character, which is good for an adaptation. i wouldn't want to watch/read the exact same story thrice.
