A REAL Day in the Life of a Software Engineer

  • Here is a REAL look at a day in the life of a Software Engineer. Many other videos like this don't begin to scratch the surface of what it's really like - they'll show you their catered food or ping pong tournaments but not what work is all about.

@@playingaverage5287 I'd say C++, Python, and Java. If you really like something it could be pretty easy. Looking for a job can be hard sometimes especially if you are trying to join big companies like google, facebook, etc. But don't let that discourage you, just learn as much as you can and you'll get there.

I spend some my time, drawing architectures, reading the docs, eating pizza, trying stuff from the docs, debugging stuff, discovering that I didn't read the docs correctly and now I have to fix the bugs that stem from that problem. There's only 4 of us at my workplace so meetings are mostly code reviews or code swapping.

Hey guys I’ve got some really great news to share with you, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on a cross and resurrected on the third day so you may all have eternal life. If you believe and repent of your sins and put your faith and trust in Him as you would a parachute jumping off a plane at 25000 feet up in the air, He will give you eternal life in heaven as a free gift and I promise you, He will change your life forever as He did mine. He is the ONLY way to heaven and He loves you all. Please think deeply about this with urgency because this is your eternal life and soul, you don’t know when you could die, meaning you could die at any moment, so please consider this with all your heart. Dont worry too much about it, the goal of a junior engineer is to learn. Just create a PR, get some comments and the next time you are looking over your changes that you are about to commit, think about the things that were commented on in your previous PR's and your code quality will improve dramatically in a couple of months

Dude you can summorize the entire software development field as "professional googlers", you are basically paid to figure shit out. No one is mad because you didn't know something, you only get shit for it if you are not willing to figure things out and make mistakes to learn how to do things. Don't be afraid to ask questions and make mistakes and you will be fine.
