I like the direction your channel is going towards. Been here since the early days and you've matured as a person and a content creator. Keep up the good stuff!

This is some high-quality content and editing-well done, mate! 👏 I agree that our job might not be considered creative in the traditional sense, like artists or musicians. However, I definitely believe that a well-executed software development lifecycle (SDLC) is a form of art. The way we refine requirements, propose our own ideas, aim for continuous delivery, define increments, and make the best architectural decisions-all while balancing timelines, load, user expectations, and functional/non-functional requirements-is truly an art form. I’ve worked in a few different places, and each experience has been unique. But when you’re in a company with great values that gives you the space to be creative and respects you as more than just a code monkey, the work we do really feels like art Keep up the good work my friend!

Damn luke, the drone shots were pretty sick, glad to see you are taking a bit time off from the work and detaching yourself, mental peace>>> anything. Also the brutality of the marketplace was on point, i my self am graduating this year, and i can feel the recession hitting right in my stomach. Hey mate, just wanted to mention I've been watching your videos from sometime. Love your cinematography and the content as well. Thanks for providing insight in the life of being a software developer, really helps prospective developers to visualize how their life will be! Cheers, and keep up the work! 💯

I went to Finland last year for my summer break and it was one of the most relaxing times I had. I may be wrong, but Finnish people seem to have their priorities in the right place. There is a vibe of quiet confidence that I didn’t find anywhere else. When I came back to my country (Luxembourg), it actually felt noisy haha. I left wondering how it really feels to live in Finland, so thank you for sharing this videos. All the best!

I find the problems I'm supposed to solve in software require a ton of creativity. Finding solutions that are efficient, effective, and maintainable all in balance with how much to invest requires creativity.
Man your videos are so cool to watch. I agree with you in terms of salary, as a "fake junior" (I've been junior for 1 year and took a break for 3 years to explore content creation), my actual job pays 40k euros a year, after all taxes there is 2300eur left on my account which is pretty low compared to US salary (even for junior) or other countries. If this matters, I'm doing Java/Angular. I don't know if you already told it, but what's the stack you're working on? Thank you, always a pleasure to watch your videos, cheers from France!
yo! ive made a couple vids in the past on that topic, maybe I'll make an updated one since the projects I work on have changed a bit but TLDR: - TS - GQL - React - AWS CDK (with typescript) tbf 40k with 1 year is pretty good (assuming youre in the EU), but agree its still not at all in line with the US it is what it is I guess for us, but cant hate the game, just gotta stick it out or make a move to the states
daily???? id say its super long, losing 25% of your day just for commuting unless you can somehow use that commute time for work or something but still super long
This is my last year of highschool, next year i'm gonna go to uni and i'm considering software engineer since i like computers and maths. Is it worth to start studying in 2024? will software engineering still be good in like the nexg 10-15 years? or should i just do it as a hobby or side thing?
well no one can say for certain but usually when there's mass panic about anything, software engineers being replaced in this instance, it's a good time to go against the crowd. personally I think yes, but im just a dude on the internet after all

- you have achieved something others want to achieve
etc.
theres many different things and millions of people who want to learn more about those things, so id say figure out what you're good at or enjoy doing and start doing videos on that
if you just start with vlogging its hard to get people to click on the video because they dont know you yet, once you have an audience then vlogging makes more sense IMO because your audience wants to see what youre up to

YO! I have the stock Keychron Q1 Pro with the brown switches 🤝 been liking it alot
@@LukeMadeIt thanks 🤝 (and i meant sound good, not look god lol)
I find the problems I'm supposed to solve in software require a ton of creativity. Finding solutions that are efficient, effective, and maintainable all in balance with how much to invest requires creativity.
But, I hear you that it's important to find outlets for your own creations...say, video.
Much love Luke :)
much love back to you 💜 thanks for watching my vids
What camera are you using, nice work.
💜👊 I use the sony a7s iii
also can you tell me what course you took? ive been using codecademy but im wondering if its enough to land me a job
Thank you, always a pleasure to watch your videos, cheers from France!
yo! ive made a couple vids in the past on that topic, maybe I'll make an updated one since the projects I work on have changed a bit
but TLDR:
- TS
- GQL
- React
- AWS CDK (with typescript)
tbf 40k with 1 year is pretty good (assuming youre in the EU), but agree its still not at all in line with the US
it is what it is I guess for us, but cant hate the game, just gotta stick it out or make a move to the states
love you bro
appreciate ya my friend 💜
Literally every single office I've ever worked in had the infamous "please put your dirty dishes away" sign... Yep, pigs everywhere. Bless WFH!!!
😭😭😭😭
Is 3 hour commute too long?
(6 hours total)
daily???? id say its super long, losing 25% of your day just for commuting
unless you can somehow use that commute time for work or something but still super long
@@LukeMadeIt twice a week
hmmm its not the worst but still its quite alot, but I'd take it in this market to gain experience atleast
@@LukeMadeIt sure
Thank you for the reply ❤
0:12 that sound here that poped up when you said good morning sound clean do u remember where u got it i want to put it as my notification sound 😅
haha thanks for noticing that, its the "iphone message sent" sound effect 🤝
@@LukeMadeIt thanks 😆
This is my last year of highschool, next year i'm gonna go to uni and i'm considering software engineer since i like computers and maths. Is it worth to start studying in 2024? will software engineering still be good in like the nexg 10-15 years? or should i just do it as a hobby or side thing?
well no one can say for certain but usually when there's mass panic about anything, software engineers being replaced in this instance, it's a good time to go against the crowd.
personally I think yes, but im just a dude on the internet after all
