    I like the trap bar, I use it as a quad accessory after I squat. Carryovers well to squats and deadlifts and just overall strength and explosiveness. Plus most folks at the gym don’t use it so the trap bar is typically available lol. Great job Meg as usual

      Same at my gym I rarely ever see it being used like ever😂😂

    I love the trap bar. At the top of my trap bar deadlift I do a static shrug for about 15 seconds and then I gently put the bar down. Its not just more polite but also works you lats a little more. Currently at twice my body weight but I will get to 3.25 times. Three reps at 345lb with perfect form and what a rush afterwards. Leg press is the perfect way to strengthen your legs for trap bar.

    Great tips! Years of crummy form in various things led me to trap bar deadlifting. The foot width tip is really important - I learned the hard way that if my feet got too far apart my hamstrings and glutes would disengage a bit and lead to the lower back doing too much.

    When I did a mock ACFT in the army they LEGIT just threw us into it without any instruction. So dangerous but thats the army 🤦‍♀️ I forsee a lot of injuries.

    I just needed to say that you have given the best demonstration and explanation of the proper use of the trap bar and how to execute the movement on UA-cam - better than all the bodybuilders I have seen trying to explain and demonstrate the use of this piece of equipment. An excellent video! I was debating whether to buy a trap bar and your video and demonstration convinced me, thank you!

    I used the trap bar deadlift for rehab on my blown disc issues and pain. It was a great work-around to keep going and eventually moved to the barbell. Great video!

    Trap bar is great for farmers carries too. Very challenging to the upper traps due to the arm angle.

    I agree the deadlift is definitely the easiest event! I personally just don’t go very heavy because it makes the run so much harder lol. I’d love to max the whole test some day but with how often we take it sometimes we just have to find a balance of which events to max and which to take it easy in order to get by.

    Thank you for calling BS on the Army "fitness" webpage for recommended exercises to pass the ACFT. It has been my biggest gripe this past three years! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Also, are you planning on maybe making a training plan for the ACFT for your website? 🤔

    Wow great demo 💪Can you comment on the timing and duration of breathhold and abdominal bracing? For me that's the silver bullet - exactly when to exhale, should you hold the breath/brace for the entire movement or exhale and re-brace at the top...thanks 🤗

    Well, some history: this bar is not a trap bar (rombus), it's a shrug bar (hexagonal). Other types: circle and open bars like in the video.

    Ms. Megsquats if you'd like a trap bar that is the perfect width for your arms, you can design one that has a telescoping metal bar that braces with a metal pin similar to the pully machines and now you're a billionaire and you've helped everyone with weird bodies. You're welcome.

    I always go high handles as I only own numerous small plates. Works out near enough the same.

  • @stephanieholguin4311
    @stephanieholguin4311 2 роки тому

    Another con I would add is that I have to add a 45# plate to step on in order to get full depth/ or full range of motion- because I am so short. I am exactly 5 foot tall and that’s my struggle!

      @@Megsquats not only that, when i was in the Army 13 years ago almost none of us did any sort of actual lifting. We would hit the on base gym and goof around on some machines occasionally, but almost no one legit lifted. Now all those people are in leadership positions and lack the knowledge to train their soldiers how to excel at this new fitness test. Videos like this are incredible, you cant be thanked enough.
