I somehow completely forgot that despite losing his Ghost, Zavala still has full access to the Darkness powers lmao
It only took him the loss of his ghost to finally stomach the notion of learning to use such powers himself
After one of the post campaign missions there is a conversation you can listen to between Zavala and Ikora in which Zavala asks Ikora to teach him how to use stasis

@@JJYT92that was a lore tab, but just to get a concept of Stasis. That, plus Ikora’s surveillance may have expedited the learning process for him.

It was at the perfect moment as well. The reveal as he just finished giving a speech to the entire of sol. Rallying them behind him to take there shot finally at the witness. After so long everyone it had wronged was about to take there vengeance
at this point Savathun is just that one aunt that always causes drama but is fun to be around and occasionally has good wisdom.

In some dialogue between her and luzaku in the blooming deep, she straight up talks like that one rich auntie

It truly felt like the end. Like destiny could have ended after this completed. The witness a once powerful and unstoppable being is now at the mercy of us and it knows we will not show it any.

There were Lucent Hive and Luzaku fighting alongside us in the battle.
Luzaku (my wife) isn't in the cutscene because she was hovering next to me
the hives can teleport to the midst of the fight they dont need to gather and this is exactly what they do . many hive guardians help us in that initial phase of the fight
Simply peak fiction. This is hands-down the best expansion Destiny's ever gotten. and rightly so.

Rhulk then helped them spread the worms to there people making the krill turn into the hive. This was just as much vengeance for them as it was for the rest of us

Zavala is so tempered and restrained when you answer to his commander side but give him a reason to go full Titan, he doesn’t disappoint.
He wasn’t his self this whole expansion. He was rushing to confront the witness and in doing so lost his ghost and light. Even lightless he was willing to lead Sol into this battle. Also nice how he shows respect to worlds first with “one fireteam entered the witnesses monolith”

This was honestly an Optimus Prime level speech. Zavala takes control and leads what could possibly be the largest army in Destiny's history, yet he's not cracking under the pressure. He knows what's at stake and has done everything he can to maintain the advantages he has, even doing what he once considered impure of using the Darkness. Lance Reddick will always be Zavala in my heart, but Keith David has put his heart and soul into what could be one of the most impactful video game (Possibly even in all of fiction) speeches of all time.
His speech is what brought everyone together. We made it flee to deep within its monolith. We infiltrated its monolith and severed its hold on the traveler light. We were then sent in one last time to deal the final blow. During this years of alliances were being rallied by Zavala in preparation for our success. Imagine being lightless like Hawthorn here just showing up to face the witness

The Witness, in a way, manipulated her and her siblings into destroying their homeworld
@@ArcaneWriter76 it in a way it directly made them go into the deep and find the worm gods. This then created the hive from a weak species who were about to be made lightbearers very soon. The witness ruined there future and created only war and conquest for them.
Very nice of the witness forces to let Zavala finish his speech before attacking lol.
Nonetheless, this whole expansion has been gold so far

I love how when zavala mentions 'humanity', cayde has a shot in humanity's lines too, as in his bio, he was once human, so that is a nice detail they put on purpose.

Zavala might not have his resurrection or light powers anymore but he was still the first one to dive into battle.
Exact same style of punch dive he does in the old OLD Destiny 2 pre-launch Gameplay Premiere trailer. The one where we hear "What We Fight For" for I think the first time.
It took him losing targe to see how he was flawed. During forsaken we see this he refused to use the light to get vengeance on uldren and ever since then he’s been extremely carful about how he uses it. Now that he lost the light he’s no longer afraid. He lost his ghost because of that and learned from it.
It reminds me so much of Lord of the Rings. Especially movie 3

Why wouldn’t she. Everything and one was at threat of being finalised forever. Same reason you can ask why other lightless have joined this fight. They didn’t have to but after we severed the witness from the light sent it into running and had it pinned down just outside ifs monolith everyone even the lightless came with the exception of a few joined us for the final assault on the witness. Think about all those cabal and eliksni no light or dark yet they were willing to die to help

Neomuna has its own defenses, which we reactivated. And story-wise, I think it's safe now. Otherwise the Guardian would have had to stay there throughout the Lightfall seasons.
